  1. Basically, yes. And for all the talk about China taking Taiwan to get chipmaking, they'd get the fabs but wouldn't get working processes and equipment, and support staff would all be yanked overnight just like in China. Best case at that point is multiple years to get back to production, and probably never achieving yields like now. It isn't that easy. There's a reason every equipment maker has full time staff positioned in every fab, support is constant. They really need to take Taiwan via soft power and leave the country and specifically mfg infrastructure operating for it to be of tactical value.
  2. I really enjoyed Craig Ferguson, wish he'd gotten more traction.
  3. I thought Caffeine Free on a soda can meant you got some free caffeine, but I could never figure out where it was in the package or how you were supposed to request it.
  4. I thought married people had more sex.
  5. Had a craving for lunch meat-style roast beef. Cheap Aussie picanha, trimmed, dry brine, smoked, seared, chilled then sliced. Hit the spot, tasty and tender, perfect cold on a sandwich.
  6. Your wife is right. Car range is calculated based on a short-term rolling average MPG, not on the lifetime of car. Your driving habits most definitely will change that number, usually fairly quickly (typical rolling average is double digit miles).
  7. Nothing you asked for, and it isn't even Scottsdale, but Wed/Sat go to Chicago Hamburger Co. for a fantastic bratwurst. Every other day go for a burger or for a hot dog. Peanut butter shake. Amazing fries, sprinkle some Cajun in your ketchup to dip the fries. Can't recommend this place enough. I go nearly every Sat when I'm in town, and have been going for about 16 years. (And I don't live anywhere near!) https://goo.gl/maps/eWDVFwZWVBFxxBKd9 If you want to visit an old Phoenix icon, Bobby-Q's. It used to be Bobby McGee's, while you won't find the BBQ to be amazing bbq compared to TX, it is good food and the place is truly iconic history, just browse the photos and enjoy the environment and great service. (There is a closer location in Scottsdale, but this is the original in Phoenix. Recommend making the drive for more nostalgia.) https://goo.gl/maps/roaTQMWPX1Nkw72w7 2 Italian Delis, both on Scottsdale Rd but N/S about 8mi from each other: Guido's Chicago https://goo.gl/maps/xFg5iErYBBaWWozF8 DeFalco's https://g.page/DeFalcosDeli?share
  8. Incredible job with shaping. Deceivingly hard to get a nice large round at home!
  9. This will probably be damped by the interest rates. Anyone who bought in with low rates isn't going to sell unless they have an emergency reason, as they'll have to buy a much cheaper house just to 'break even' on payments.
  10. You're in a lucky time zone. 2000 Fri budget update calls.
  11. I find a steamer dome (fancy name for inverted metal bowl, but with a handle hopefully cool to touch) to be useful on flattops for stir fry, melting cheese, etc. And a little squirt bottle of water, to inject under the dome to provide the steam.
  12. Must have a pretty comfortable couch to sleep on.
  13. Walmart previous prices were on sale. The current prices are normal MSRP prices. Sales come and go fairly regularly, never pay MSRP for this stuff. Not to make you feel bad, but individual Costco are putting Classic2 on clearance at end of season, lots of internet posts showing that the clearance ones are $497. Might be worth you checking back in store regularly, buy and return on your old receipt if you find one on clearance. Edit: Also note the Big Joe 1 has been down to ~775 on sale at Amazon at one point, and in the 800s at Walmart.
  14. Couple fried brisket videos on YT, results look kind of terrible, I would expect it to be chewy as fuck. Guga did one where he confited it for a long while and it turned out well, I'd imagine similar to the LeroyLewis beef cheeks confit. Now if you smoked brisket and then thick sliced and katsu fried it using light breadcrumb like Japanese katsu, it might be amazing...
  15. That's because you actually CAN use Excel for everything:
  16. I don't want anyone who thinks our-of-the-box.
  17. The one without the stupid grey box. I can't believe how many resumes I get on fancy templates or with random design art on them. Trend is going up, esp with newer grads, as they seek to "distinguish themselves." Get that shit off your resume. The only thing other than text on your resume should be sparing use of bold and/or underline. Maybe font size, again sparingly.
  18. It's nice to see that ESG investing is starting to get some backlash now, even at the institutional level. The company's duty is to its shareholders, period, not to any ESG noise.
  19. Both of these. I also remember the first time I tried a KK, they'd just opened in AZ, news had been hyping it for weeks, there were lines around the building and out the parking lot. They gave me a freebie hot off the belt, and it was amazingly good. Had never had an airy, glutinous dough with chew like that compared to the bread/cake style donuts at Dunkin etc. I'll gladly choose KK if comparing hot off the line. In-N-Out fits the spirit of this thread. Similar to KK above, news hyped it for weeks when it came to AZ. Lines out the parking lot. I finally went, took one bite, and said "wtf, why?" Terrible burger, even more terrible fries, and a meh shake. Literally no redeeming item, didn't finish any of it, went to eat elsewhere. Five Guys has damn good (and generous) Cajun fries, and a bad Five Guys burger is still way better than any In-N-Out.
  20. There've been patches, there've been new characters, there've been random gun changes, nothing really noteworthy. They did nerf Wingman pretty hard by making it take sniper ammo and mags, and they inexplicably made Spitfire use light ammo. But, the season that just started added a game mode, Gun Game - if you're familiar from CS, you start with a gun and get a new gun every time you kill someone. Climb through the list of guns first to win. It's fun, faster paced than any normal BR game, good way to sit down and do some mindless aim and gun practice, and much less focus on you knowing the map, knowing jumpmaster strategies, worrying about ring, etc. It's a limited time mode for now, but seems to be popular enough that I'd expect we see it more in the future. My only complaint is it's slower paced than CS gun games as the maps are too large for the number of players, you can spawn and spend a while running around trying to find the other teams. If the learning curve has kept you from trying Apex, I'd suggest trying some gun game now.
