  3. wtf is chalula?
  4. Is this wrong? Asking for a friend.
  5. Launch window opens in roughly one hour from this post. Just past 1am Eastern.
  6. Uh, look at it the other way. You normally only see 1-2 a year and you just took two out in a single day? You clearly have a coyote problem now, even if you didn't before.
  7. I-pace won a pile of world car awards when it came out, enjoy!
  8. Citi also does multiple currency accounts.
  9. The charge protect function on iPhone aims only to minimize time at 100%. It learns your charge/usage patterns, and will hold the phone at 80% charge for most of the charging period, and then run it to 100 only when it expects you to unplug it.
  10. He sat near to me on a flight from Inchon to Bangkok a few years ago. But he looked Indian, not Iranian.
  11. Battery swell failures are not trivial and make me absolutely enraged. Charge logic is completely controlled by the mfg, yet they cannot keep batteries from getting into conditions where they swell? It's not a Dell thing, I've swelled more batteries than I can count across all sorts of devices. Without fail, my devices get retired/unusable due to battery swell. Not due to other hardware failure, not due to performance getting outdated, just due to fucking battery failure. At least many newer devices allow you to limit battery charge. Aggravating that most of them don't allow you to set your own desired charge threshold, only allowing you to use their preset (Samsung is 85%, Lenovo tablet is 60%, Surface is 50%). But much better than being stuck with 100%. Recently I learned of Chargie, an inline USB charge limiter that works with an app on the device to allow any device to limit charge. It also works with 'dumb' devices that can't run the app, by sensing charge current and cutting off at some user-settable threshold of charge. I bought a few of them to try, and am pleasantly surprised with how easy they are to set up and use, and yet how much micro-control you can do in detail if you want to nerd out as a power user. I use one for my iPhone as iPhone does not provide a built-in way to limit charge at all. Chargie.org Note that with modern battery tech, the longest battery lifespan will come at 50% charge. Warning, lots of pics in spoiler. These are all my own photos of my own failed devices. Fuck this stupidity.
  12. HAHAHAHAHAHA no. As Captainant mentioned, NASA would be burning even more money while achieving results in roughly 5x the time that China takes. There is zero chance that the US would be leading upmass if it was only NASA payloads.
  13. They're damn good at space. They've built their own "ISS" in a very short number of years. The problem is they dgaf about following international convention (in many/all areas, not only regarding orbital safety.) If it wasn't for Musk going off on his own with SpaceX, they'd be dominating the world in upmass right now.
  14. Thanks so much everyone, suddenly I have lots of options! A bit of clarification: The map I posted above wasn't clear enough, the red line was supposed to point to the pin for Marche Belleville, my Airbnb is next to Marche Belleville. I've been to Paris twice, have visited some of the big tourist spots before - I will gladly revisit the Louvre as many times as I have time for, if schedule allows. Otherwise I just enjoy walking around the area. I see on the map that there's a huge Cemetery du Pere Lachaise not far from me, with tomb of Edith Piaf, Chopin, Bizet, Jim Morrison(?), Proust, Modigliani, many others. Will definitely go walk around in there. And I see what looks to be a Chinatown, a whole pile of Chinese restaurants and stores, just a few blocks NW, will definitely go browse. Do you have any recs for secondhand fashion shops, with focus on bags/purses? She likes browsing vintage fashion. Wife will like purses etc, and appreciate the comments about which brands have the best price differential between US and EU. Don't worry too much about budget, we won't buy that much but we really enjoy the browsing. (At the same time, don't point us to a private shopper or boutique where they would be offended if we just window shopped; wasted a bunch of their time and then didn't buy anything.) Will definitely visit E. Dehillerin, I'm a nerd for kitchen stuff. I remember visiting a small leather maker who did watch straps and bags during a previous trip, and I enjoy "small craftsman" stuff, any genre. I also enjoy local open markets, looking online I see that there are quite a few morning markets around the area. What's the best way to make restaurant reservations if I don't have a hotel concierge? Will English and some broken French work if I call them myself? (studied French in a past life, was actually conversationally fluent at one point, now I barely remember bonjour and merci) I don't think Versailles/Disney are negotiable, one of them may be, but not both. Will keep the comments about weather in mind and may play it by ear to go on the nicest day we have. Wife also wanted to visit La Vallee Village outlets near Disney - is it worth the visit? Again, thank you!!
  15. Harmon grandstand presale was 2500, Sphere GA grandstand was 2000. I think I spent less than that incl airfare when I went to F1 Baku... Hard pass.
  16. I'm landing Paris in a week and haven't done any homework. Apparently staying roughly at the boundary of 10/11/19/20 Arrondisement. What's around me? What should I do? Will be there a week, family wants to visit Versailles and Disney, and wants to shop. I just want food. No need for Michelin fancy. Would especially appreciate (and may regret) shopping recs.
  17. Sales go live 10am PST for Amex Presale, site now has a countdown. Make sure you log in ahead to make sure your Ticketmaster login works, you don't want to get hung up and lose out because of an expired password or other stupidity. The third option, Koval hospitality, looks to be on a truly shit portion of the track for spectating. https://www.ticketmaster.com/promo/67pdsb
  18. Artemis 3 in 2025. Please join me in bursting out laughing. Can this stupid charade end already??
  19. Do they use the same wax in your butthole and your nose? Asking for you.
