Texas Recruiting Notes 2023: Strippers, Monkeys, and 5-Stars
Hard to believe Texifornia is the only person on this board that stalks 17 year old boys.

Texas Recruiting Notes 2023: Strippers, Monkeys, and 5-Stars
Beartooth Highway is indeed spectacularly beautiful and breathtaking, but as I recall the road was fairly wide, well kept, and had guardrails most/all of the way. One of the most unnerving trips I recall was Mt. Evans road. It's billed as the highest paved road in North America and takes you to the top of a 14er. The road was narrow, not in great shape in places, but most disconcerting was being above the treeline with no guardrails. The steep drops with no rails or trees between you, the edge, and the bottom was nerve wracking. However, the view form the top was spectacular and worth the drive nonetheless.

Which explains all the talk from aggy about taking a small class this year.

Realignment talk not going away
I don't disagree with this at all. However, it's the same thing as old houses that would not meet current building codes. They are grandfathered in while new houses have to meet the code. Is it completely fair? No. But it avoids the chaos and cost that would occur if everytime the building codes change you required every preexisting home to tear down and start over.

In general I'm an ISU fan, but filling the stadium doesn't mean a thing to Fox or ESPN. How many TV viewers were there during those seasons? That's what they care about. How many TV viewers can you pull, not just in your halcyon days, but in the bad times too.

Well, most of us anyway. Have you forgotten the country fried steak debacle of 2021? I still think that was what ultimately cost us Urban Meyer.

Some just want to play in the Mountain West Conference I guess.

Didn't realize you would have been so enthusiastic about a kiss from Philip Seymour Hoffman.

We surprised a lot of people last year.....with how bad we were.

Texas Recruiting Notes 2023: Strippers, Monkeys, and 5-Stars
I guess that would explain why we've recruited so many OL, if we're going to start shooting them.

Looks like it would also be no newer than 1947 since it references the Big Six conference, and that was the year they added Colorado and became the Big Seven.

2023 QB Arch Manning
I assume you are referring to 1999. Thanks for bringing up that treasured memory as I was there in person to see it firsthand. It was actually only 3 interceptions that he threw, but still ugly enough.

2023 QB Arch Manning
So you're saying Gilbert was trying to throw 5 ints against Kstate?

Texas Recruiting Notes 2023: Strippers, Monkeys, and 5-Stars
Given that there have only been five perfect scores, which didn't include any Mannings, there are two Mannings that represent data points in disagreement with that.

Texas Recruiting Notes 2023: Strippers, Monkeys, and 5-Stars
It didn't seem like such a bad take. The recruiting services are notorious for applying some arbitrary criteria and favoring guys that go to their camps and the elite competitions in the rankings. Hell, in our last class one of the recruiting services dinged one of our OL recruits because they thought his arm length would shrink if he lost weight. Nothing in what he said argued that Manning himself was any less of a player or even that he should be going to camps and competitions. He was only saying that with the nature of how some of these recruiting services do their rankings it's not unreasonable that someone will find some basis to ding him slightly.

If so, would be funny for it to be Texas and Bama, and listen for the sound of heads exploding all the way from BCS.

It makes aggy heads explode. Definitely worth it.
