  1. Guys, I want to post about something that is near and dear to me and I am blessed to be a part of (besides this great site)Now.. what are 3 things we in the South are Passionate about. Sports (that's why we are here) ,Guns...(well we can talk about those Auction items later...) and our Soldiers / Veterans.Well I'm here to try and see if any of you would be willing to help with the last one. I am the Director of Corporate Relations for Operation Valor, a 501c3 who raises funds every year through our Annual Benefit Gala, Virtual Runs, and Merchandise sale.We are a completely voluntary organization, who has donated over $75k to different veteran non-profits over the past 4 years. This year all net donations will be donated to our 7 vetted Veteran non-profits :Chris Kyle Frog Foundation Lone Survivor Foundation 31 Heroes Navy SEAL Foundation Operation Enduring Warrior Combat Wounded Coalition The Raider project All of these charities work closely with mentally and physically wounded veterans to honor, empower, and motivate them. Through different programs offered, the wounded veterans are reminded there is no challenge big or small they cannot overcome. The biggest way we raise funds is our annual Operation Valor Charity Benefit Gala. This year the gala will be at the DFW North Mariott in Irving, TX on Oct. 25. Now BEFORE I lose you and you say... Well I won't be able to attend.. Well Read on... You CAN still help from afar!!!What I'm asking for from my Sports fans is to donate the purchase of a ticket ($100) so a veteran can attend the dinner in your place. https://opvalor.org/product/veterans-charity-benefit-gala/You can also register to take part in the virtual run that has 3 different distances (5k, 10k, Half marathon) for $25 each or $60 for the trifecta medal (and all 3 distance medals) Or pick up some shirts, patches, or a pen made from a 50 cal shell. https://opvalor.org/shop/Also you can also donate directly using credit card or PayPal. If you wish to write a physical check instead, Please make it out to Operation Valor and mail to:Operation Valor 7201 Hart LaneSte. #1088Austin, TX. 78731One of our Beneficiaries this year is Operation Enduring Warrior. If you haven't seen or heard of them before. This organization is full of some bad-asses who won't let any of their battle injuries stand in their way of doing anything. And that is one of the points they make in helping other veterans. Whether it's showing them how much they can overcome during a Spartan race, jumping out of an airplane, or working in the community. If anyone has any questions ... Please PM me.EIN 82-1207893https://www.opvalor.org/https://www.facebook.com/OpValor1/https://www.instagram.com/operationvalor/https://twitter.com/OpValor1

  10. You still have Eddie O as your Head Coach. I don't think it's going to end how you think it will...
  11. It's making a lot of us in the SEC throw up.. that's ridiculous. They aren't that good overall...
  12. Swung by Great Heights again yesterday for the 2nd time, @PhatAtUT and the guys are just doing great work there. Will indeed make it a priority to stop there each time I'm in town even if that means less time at Hay Merchant.
  13. MSU at 18th. Highest pre-season ranking since 1941 (won the SEC that year). It's gonna be a special year..
  14. Thanks again guys. Decided to to do 2 days at the beach instead. Mon/Tues. just gotta figure out what all we want to do. besides relaxing. the wife's a redhead so won't be sitting out tanning for a long period. I'm just looking forward to enjoying the beach for the first time in 15 years, I used to live on the gulf coast in MS so miss it so much.
  15. Thanks.. That's the biggest reason why I posted. No clue what's come back since Harvey. And the drivings going to be broken up enough to not be in the car more than 4 hours at the max I think. Still making my plan..
  16. The Wife and I have a week off work in about 3 weeks (so post Labor Day) and are doing 2 days in Fredericksburg, a day floating the river , a day in Austin and a day at the beach in the CC area. As of right now, I'm leaning towards Padre Island, but know there are a lot more..Mustang Island, Port Aransas, Whitecap. Not really looking for anything more than maybe some chairs and an umbrella. Might be open to the idea of B&B near the beach since we would likely be spending the day in the area before heading to San Antonio the next morning for breakfast.
  17. Watched the whole season last night... lot's of laughs. Atypical Season 2 is coming!
  18. Or I guess I was confused. It's a local in texas. but the rest of the country it's on the sports pack.
  19. Damnit!!! Didn't see that mentioned anywhere you have to add sports pack to get the LHN for $10 on PS Vue.
  20. Well.. screw deciding. I've got 2 tv's so gonna give this a go. Living Room - Nvidia Shield . Trading in a Chromecast and have a $30gc for Best Buy. Pairing that with a Harmony Elite because I'm tired of playing where's one of my 3 remotes... along with a Logitech K400 Plus wireless keyboard. Going to do PS Vue with Philo. Already have netflix. already have 3 free months to Pandora. Bedroom - Roku Ultra. Gonna test out Youtube tv for the trial period and use Philo, to see if the user experience make's me figure out just how important LHN is. Next week, I'm calling ATT and dumping Uverse. If I keep having internet problems. I'll be running to Spectrum also...
  21. Damnit... I'm still off the wagon, and need to get back on with you awesome guys. I did one week of keto about a month ago and lost 11lbs and was loving the energy. Well Damnit I LOVE craft beer and Red wine. I know a ton of the beer reps or people who work at breweries in DFW and constantly am getting invited to some event going on. It's what broke me the first time and has kept me off. I just gotta tell people no and know missing out on some new beer release isn't the end of the world. Need to get on the scale and see how far back I've fallen and what my new lifetime high is.... Can't start this week.. already got tickets to a beer festival on Saturday. But I don't see anything starting next monday for the next month I shouldn't be able to say no to...
