There's been the cold day here and there, but overall we've been way above our normal highs and lows this fall. Fire season next spring/summer is gonna be lit.
There are subreddits. I'll just say it gets way the fuck out in the weeds. It's also like a nude beach, it ain't the people you want there that are there 95% of the time.
I worked at a small to medium sized data center years ago. Our head count then was around 55. We got bought by a bigger company. They slowly consolidated positions to where we were closer to 45 or so at that site. I have a hard time seeing even a big data center needing more than 60-70 personnel.
There's been criticism of the decision. Some are arguing they're making the same mistakes made in Bakhmut, Kursk, and Vuhledar where they hold out past the point that it's advantageous for the defenders and take excessive casualties.
I'm in Jefferson County. I work with a guy who's household makes over $300k/year. He gets pissy whenever people vote for tax increases and he threatens to move to Florida or Texas. If he wasn't on vacation, I'm sure he'd be ranting today. Good guy, but has a weird libertarian bent.
The latest reports from Pokrovsk are that the Ukrainian units aren't encircled, but the situation isn't great. The decision has apparently been made to hold out as long as possible to inflict maximum damage, and because Pokrovsk holds a lot of strategic value.
