  2. You really need a Ruger Blackhawk, blued, 6” barrel, in 44 Mag to pair up with that gun. Please post up when you have both.

    AMMO THREAD

No shit there’s none available if you’re buying it by the case! I hit academy this morning and picked up a couple of WWB 9mm 100ct for $36ea and a few misc packs of Hornady bullets for reloading. Was standing in fron the the Hornady display and another dude walked up the counter and asked for powered (they didn’t have any) and then asked for primers. WTF? When did they start holding that shit back. Came away with 4 sleeves of CCI large pistol. Gonna head back in the morning and see if they have any more.
  5. Will definitely spray if shot in trap. If caught in a #2 coil spring that was set for fox, and you shoot one, you can come back the next weekend and there will just be a foot left. Easy disposal via our buzzard friends. Maybe not the best result at your house but that’s all I got. Maybe work on where it’s digging under your fence.

    ummm...hmmm

Must have lost his toe knife?
  7. Its 2021, who the fuck mails a check for a bill vs paying online?
  8. I dove your mother’s cave last night.
  9. How much that is? Don’t know on the 20 Field. Briley’s in Houston is advertising a 725 field 28ga for $2300 and a 725 20 ga sporting for $2400 so I expect the 20 field to be in that range. ETA: They also list a Beretta 686 SP1 30” 20 ga for $2100.
  10. When was the last time you changed it? I never switched over to braid for casting reels and have just always used 12lb Big Game. Used to buy the big 1lb spools and change it out like socks.
  11. Have you tried to get any fuel out of a car recently this way? Roll over valve can make this very difficult if not impossible.
  12. Do yourself a favor and get transfer tank with a pump instead of a used drum. Store it outside, away from your residence. Buy ethanol free fuel and add a good fuel stabilizer. As an alternative to one large bulk tank, get a number of quality 5 gal cans, filled with ethanol free gas/stabilizer and rotate them out on a monthly basis so you turn your supply every year. Get 6 cans and every two months dump the oldest one into your car and refill/treat. Rotating fuel and water storage like this is a pretty standard prepper strategy.
  13. Option 3: 28” 725 Field 20 ga
  14. Brookshire's or Brookshire Brothers? Two different chains and I could see that with a few of the BB stores I've been to in small town ETx.
  15. Meh, not the first time they've had to deal with a hot searing cloud.
  16. How far apart are the remotes from the main? Can they do 6-700 yards?
  17. Have heard good things about Ridgetec and Cuddlelink. Both are $$ compared to typical cellular cameras sold at Academy, etc. I had a Spylink at our place and couldn’t pick up a cell signal with it. I want to try a Ridgetec but have t got around to buying one.
  18. I was wondering which rapper got his shit confiscated by the US Marshall and then came upon this lovely piece. A quick search returned YNW Melly whose is currently awaiting two counts of murder in a Florida jail and is also suspected in the shooting death of a 2017 deputy sheriff.
  19. I doubt just flying a drone around waterfowl would be an issue but when you turn and dive toward them to make them move or fly it could be a problem. Like I said, the FGWs I have met usually didn't have a sense of humor and I imagine there is a very non-hunting friendly generation of wardens currently being employed. There were a few guides out on the Katy prairie in the 80s and 90s that reportedly would use small airplanes to push flocks of snow geese toward their sports. Didn't turn out so well for at least one of them.

  21. I have had several hawks and owls swoop into the decoys while duck hunting and take a swipe at a deke. Had a Greater Horned Owl make a pass at one right before shooting time then land in a dead tree right behind our blind and start to hoot. We were laughing at the owl wondering what the hell that was instead of a duck. If you duck hunted out on the Katy prairie for any length of time, you probably had multiple times when a hawk would fly in and snag a duck that was just shot and waiting to be retrieved.
