  1. Follow up report on the news tonight that CC had suspended the police chief pending an investigation.
  2. I’m not sure I’d want to put damp rid in my safe. I’m sure the chemical is some kind of salts and that while it sucks out moisture the vapor off of that can’t be good for gun metal. Hard to beat and old standard goldenrod. And this comes from the guy that puts two big buckets of damp rod in his rv when he puts it up in storage. Also, have seen a bunch of folks with damaged rv floors when those hanging bags get a puncture or spring a leak. Hate to have that happen in a safe
  3. I travel up 155 to my dad’s in Tyler 2 or 3 times a month. When you come off the bridge across Ledbetter Bayheaded north, you damn sure better be 55mph or below or you’re gonna catch a ticket when you top the hill by the dollar stores. They are there every time, usually with a car pulled over. I didn’t catch if the news report talked about when there were several big 8 liner game rooms in CC. Cars would be parked up and down 155 at the one next to Kilo’s and another place down by the dollar stores. I think the sheriff or the TX Rangers finally came in and it down. The place next to Kilo’s still sports a sign on the building. ETA: RIP Foot’s Liquor Store. Follow your feet to Foot’s!
  4. Supply and Demand shows a 2,000 MW deficit starting at 7:30 tonight.
  5. Tell me you’re an actuary without telling me you’re an actuary.
  6. Not over complicated, it’s just that the splitter you bought doesn’t have any internal fusing to limit the 5-15R receptacles to 20A. In an overload situation, you could drawn all of your generators 27A through one receptacle which might start burning wires on the splitter or whatever cords you have plugged into it. All you extension cord are outdoor rated 10 or 12 AWG (depending on distance), right? That’s why I commented about having a sub panel system. If you correctly wire in a generator inlet to your existing panel, you already have all the fusing/circuit breakers in place to protect that wiring.
  7. I sure most of you saltwater guys have read it before but Rudy Grigar’s Plugger is a great read on Tx coastal fishing and the Chandeleur Islands.
  8. Send a registered letter (cc’d to yourself) letting him know you are aware of the fence on your property, and that said fence shall not be construed as you giving up possession of that property. That should take care of any adverse possession in the short term. If you want him to move it to his property, inform him, and give him a time period to comply otherwise you will take action. I believe the fence is still his property so you moving/removing it might have some unintended consequences on your part. If you ask him to move it and get a FU in return, I’m sure you can find a Surly lawyer to send a sternly worded letter for about tree-fitty.
  9. Probably don’t want to go smearing the brains around on a fresh skin either but … Of course, my dad lived to crack open squirrel heads and eat the brains.
  10. What is this? Firearms for ants?
  11. Ideally, you’d need to make a small portable sub panel to break the 30A circuit out to 15/20a loads, similar to what’s done for the 15a circuits on your genset. An better way is to get a 50A generator inlet wired into your breaker panel through a 50 a breaker and mains interlock. Then use a 30A to 50a dogbone to your genset. This will work for that 4kw genset up to a 12kw. Check out the What are you buying for the next grid failure? Thread had a lot of movement after the 2021 ice storm.
  12. The Midnight Special started a YouTube channel a few months back and have posted up a bunch of song performances and full shows from the 70’s. Everything about this video is great, from the back-up singers to Skunk ripping a great solo.
  13. I have an open frame 4kw Ryobi inverter generator. Have put 50-60 hrs on it over a couple years boondocking with the rv. Happy with its performance but would probably look at the HF u it’s if buying today.
  14. Don’t know if it’s the same in a female but, have her Dr. check thyroid levels. I realized my HR was racing after mowing the lawn one day last summer and it wouldn’t come back down. Like 120bpm after sitting in a chair for 20 mins. Got some meds that helped a bunch.
  15. I bet you could catch a real nice bass if hooked one of them little trout through the lips and cast it out under some lilly pads.
  16. I’ve been listing to a lot of Amyl and the Sniffers lately. So have my neighbors.
  17. That allocation stuff is pretty much correct. My wife worked for the area Toyota distributor for a long time in an IT related role. She was able to get vehicles on an employee program for less than the dealer purchased them. We were able to order vehicles exactly the way we wanted through the same system the dealers used. We would choose a vehicle model and trim level from distributor allocated batch and then choose details like color and options that we wanted. A few months later we would go to a dealer of our choice and pick it up. Was a 15+ year period where we didn’t have to do any of the dealer negotiation dance. Really enjoyed that.
  18. I didn’t take @G650 for a vanity plate guy.
  19. Pretty sure I saw a Facebook short of your boat being launched. You might have even been driving.
  20. Get a fan motor while your at it. Maybe a contactor too. $200 fan turned into a $500+ service call over a weekend a few weeks ago for me.
  21. Good luck and keep everybody in the boat
