  1. Built this entry table. I used Peruvian walnut, read oak and a third wood that I can’t remember for the top and coated with a poly. The base is just box store lumber painted and stained. I may refinish the top at some point since seems like the topcoat is a little uneven.
  2. Its a tough position since it's a sibling. I can only speak from my experience, but the steps tell us to make amends wherever possible except when to do so would injure ourselves or others. To me, this is one of those situations where the amends would cause more harm than good because of the circumstances and my sponsor would have told me to stay the hell away, because bringing up past things like this could cause more emotional damage to the victim. I don't know the family dynamic, but seems to me like this creates an elephant in the room type situation, so the amends is warranted. In going through the amends, I've always been told to make them in person, say my part, then shut up and listen to what the other person has to say. Seems to me that that opportunity wasn't given to your loved one. The whole purpose of the amends is to set things right with the harmed person and honor their wishes. I think a response letter for them to say their part is more than warranted.
  3. I thought of this as more of a tribute to Prince. I always enjoyed Fallon's story about Prince making an impromptu performance at the SNL 40th after party.
  4. We picked up the truck in GA this weekend and brought it home last night. For the time being I’m parking it in storage until I can make room in my garage or find a shop. I still need to inventory it but I do have the hood, rear benders, tailgate and bed pieces. Most of those have had the body work and are primed. Some touch up work is needed in places but based on my limited knowledge it looks close. The original engine was replaced with a 350. It’s a rebuilt motor my father in law put in before he had the body work started but it has been sitting for years with no fluids in it. I know I’ve got my work cut out for me but am excited to take this on.
  5. I definitely want to do it and my wife (no pics) is on board. I’ve just never taken on a project like this before and not sure what the order of operations would be. Won’t even know for sure what all needs to be done until I lay eyes on it myself. Going to do some research on it. I feel confident about doing some of the mechanic and wiring work myself. I imagine this will be a project I complete a little at a time as budget allows.
  6. My Father-in-law is giving us his 59 Chevy pickup. He’s had it since he was a teenager and is only the second owner. Its currently in a friends garage in Georgia who’s worked on it here and there over the years. The guy is going into hospice so he’s got to get it and wants to go ahead and pass it down. I know it’s going to take some work and $$ but I’ve always liked the idea of something like this. From what he says, the engine still runs the body is pretty much ready to be assembled and painted. The cab is on it, from the pictures I’ve seen the bed needs to go back on. I know we’re looking at some work still but I’ve no idea what I’m getting myself into. I feel ok with doing some basic mechanic and assembly work but I’m clueless about paint and body work. Any advice is appreciated. Pic for reference but I’m not sure this is even the most recent picture.
  7. No, not at all. Some of us still go to BBG too. Some of us just had a vision for a new group that wasnt necessarily the clubhouse style AA.
  8. Suburban group in Plano is another legit one. My home group AA101 in Rockwall is a fairly new group but is a strong one.
  9. This will be next week's disaster on Landman.
  10. I've got several tubs of antique porcelein dolls. Some were hand poured and painted by my stepdad's grandmother, but then there are others that were manufactured. Some are by a German Manufacturer called K&R. I've found a little info on the web that says they were made up until sometime in the 1940's. Would be interested to see what some of those are worth.
  11. My teens have been doing their own laundry for a few years. They each have an assigned "laundry day" to get their stuff washed and dried.
  12. Someone pointed out that Kayce's dead son is buried there, could that make it designated as an Indian burial ground?
  13. Maybe an employer where it was provided for a w9?
  14. I'm in the same boat along with Josh Allen and Kyle Pitts....frustrating.
