    Dallas | BBQ

Good Choice. Yeah, it was a re-branding. They had the same owners, but I think they moved away from the RED Hot franchising or whatever. Blatt is a good HH place though. I pop in there occasionally, but it's within walking distance of my place.
  4. I know there was a thread on the OS, but couldn't find one here. Looking into building an emulator. Any advice/Pro tips on which kit to start with?

    Dallas | BBQ

Anyone tried Austin's in Addison yet? I it's in the old Duke's Icehouse spot. I haven't been yet. Sidenote. HQ Prime/Red Hot BBQ closed last week. I was never a big fan of their Q, but the burnt end appetizer was good. I lived near by and would drop in occasionally for game watching and beers.

    Dive Bars

SIAP, but i didn't see a thread. Im a big fan of dive bars. Hole in the wall places with cheap beer, pool, darts and karaoke. I'm always up for exploring a new spot. What are some of your neighborhood dives? Here is a small list of places I've discovered. North/Central Dallas: Oriley's Pub-Cheap pool hall with karaoke on Mondays, very mixed crowd, it's hit or miss. KingsX-Great dive bar with career waitresses Richardson: Lonestar Grill-Great, but smokey Far North Sharkey's-Pool Hall with karaoke on Thursday/Sunda The Irishman-Good food, beer selection. This is a good neighborhood dive Addison Mucky Duck/Lion and crown-Addison circle. I'm actually a fan of all the harder bros places, mucky duck, scruffy duffies, ringos, etc. Other Mentions Royal Pour-Casa Linda/Lakewood area Milo Butterfingers
  7. I gave mine the gift that keeps on giving 2 years ago....a Divorce!
  8. I would add extra shredded cheddar on top of mine. I never bothered with utensils, just picked it up and ate it and would sometimes fold it in half and eat it calzone style.
  9. I've known several couples that got pregnant after adopting, crazy how that happens.
  10. This is awesome to see. I am an adoptive parent as well in my case it was a relative placement from CPS. It started as foster care then became a permanent gig. I also worked at a children's group home with my ex as a houseparent. This facility at multiple homes on a 40+ acre campus that had several amenities for the kids. They mainly took in larger sibling groups of kids that were 4+ in age from CPS to keep them all together. Those are the hardest cases to keep together and adopt out. In some cases, the kids went back home to the parents, and in others they grew up there. I saw a couple of kids that lived there for 10+ years until the aged out. The campus also had a set of apartments for the kids that aged out and helped them get started with college or their careers so they just weren't dumped on the street. It saddens me to see the number of good people that I've known over the years that couldn't have kids, while you see people drag kids through shitty situations and still keep having more.
  11. I Grew up in Carthage, so the ones all over East Texas.
  12. It's hard to beat an old school small town DQ where the grease hasn't been changed in 30 years and the walls/ceilings are tinted yellow from the days people could smoke inside.
  13. They were between 3&4 the first time we did it and 4&5 the following year.
  14. My GF's (no pics) brother is a track engineer for one of the teams. She spent the weekend there with her Dad and got to hang out most of the time in the Paddock area with her brother and his team. She met several of the drivers and the celebs that visited the garage.
  15. Yes! I took my kids to Pensacola few years in a row, we usually left Dallas around 9-10 at night and drove straight through. I felt the trip went faster that way. One year we went around the 4th and actually saw several fireworks shows on our drive back.
  16. I just bought the Roku Express for $25. Very pleased with the interface of it so far.
  17. Had country burger in Murphy the other night. Slammed and went hard as always.
  18. Fucking sad stuff. https://www.wfaa.com/article/news/crime/former-texas-ranger-josh-hamilton-faces-injury-to-child-charge/287-4a2b4dc6-1345-496f-a93f-b8ad57a78033
  19. Adding the PlayStation branding to this hurt them. I had a conversation with some guys at work the other day about streaming services when I threw in my vote for PS Vue and all of them were under the impression you had to have a PS to use it.
  20. My Firestick has bit the dust for some reason, it will power up, but never gets past the black Amazon screen and then it restarts and the cycle repeats. I'm debating if i want to get another firestick or get a Roku. Any input? I currently use PSvue for football, Hulu, and Netflix. I plan on dropping Hulu when Disney+ launches since it will be included.
  21. Me too! I still think Eddie is one of the funniest comedians ever. Coming to America, Trading Places, and Beverly Hills Cop to me are some of my favorite movies and still hold up. He just did a ton of "paycheck" films over the last 2 decades to feed his 10 children. This movie was great and feels like the return of the funnier Eddie Murphy. I can't wait for his SNL appearance and future stand up routines. I found this article from last month recently. https://www.nytimes.com/2019/09/26/movies/eddie-murphy.html
  22. Same here, I could make it to the final castle, but never could figure out the pattern on how to get to Bowser for some reason.
  23. They have the flag upside down on the truck in the opening shot (:03). OUT.
