Re-Posting. I went a few weeks back. I don't think it'll top Cattelack, but it's definitely nice to have it close to the office as a quick lunch option. Seemed pretty solid to me.
I'm going at the end of July to South Tahoe and staying at Harrah's. The GF (sorry, no pics) has a comped trip through Caesers for it. Gonna do some hiking/kayaking. Any recs for other food and entertainment are appreciated.
Blu's Barbeque just opened near my office in far north Dallas. Its on Preston between Campbell and Frankford. I stopped in today just to grab a chopped beef sandwich and it was pretty good. The brisket he was cutting form looked pretty solid and the sides looked legit. I didn't feel like having afternoon meat sweats, so I didn't try the full spread. I will definitely bee returning. There was only 2 people in there and I thought that was a shame, but the place did just open. I remember when it was like that at Cattlelack too.

Sausage egg and cheese jalapeno cheddar biscuits is where is at. Remember when the jap cheddar biscuit was a limited time item? As long as that doesn't change, I'm good.
Agreed. I listen to Nadel on my drive home most days and its just relaxing to me. I feel that I get into the game more listening on the radio vs. tv. While I prefer to watch football, listening Kevin Harlan on the Monday/Thursday night games on the evening drive is great as well.
I think tv has played a part in this as well. We've seen a lot growth in production quality of TV series and the ability of networks like HBO to produce uncensored material.
I've been on a kick of reading PI/Detective type books recently. I stumbled upon the Amos Decker series by David Baldacci and have been pulled in. The second book is partially set in Texas and involves a fictional former UT Running back that is on death row.

I played in Shreveport Saturday night on a $10 table. I started out with HG method just betting the inside 3 numbers closest to the point. The table started getting hot, so I added in a $10 passline bet with $20-$25 odds. I ended up walking away up $500 after a 2 hour session.
This. I live nearby. It's good for happy hour and a good beer selection. The burnt ends make for a good snack. Other than that, it's not that spectacular. Before the rebranding, all beers were $3 at happy hour and on Sundays dieing NFL games.
