Good place. I've met the owners a few time and they are solid people.

I'm An Alcoholic
That's one of my favorite meetings of the week. My sponsor and I go to a meeting at the Dallas 24 hour club on Mondays that's a required meeting for the residents that have been there less than a certain amount of time (60 days I think). Most of the room usually has 30 days or less and it seems to be a new crowd every week. Several are fresh off the streets or out of jail.

I'm An Alcoholic
I've been feeling a little anxiety and fear the past few days that I've had trouble shaking. Went to the home group last night and the reading was page 86. Made me realize how much I've slacked with my morning medication practices recently and that's probably what is driving those feelings.

I'm An Alcoholic
I would look at Real Deal Sober living first if he's looking for nicer. They have houses in Plano and Richardson that start at $800 I believe. I stayed at the Richardson one last year and it held me accountable, required meetings, etc. There are lots of Oxford houses in the area too, but you have to be careful with them as some can just be flop houses. If he's looking for cheaper, the Freeman House could be an option. It has a good age mix, but can be a little rough as it's mainly guys fresh off the streets or out of jail. Some guys from home group take a meeting there every week.

Big explosion in Plano neighborhood
I live roughly a mile as the crow flies to this street and starting to think the thunder I heard yesterday afternoon may have been the boom.

Family Law/Adoption
My youngest daughter was adopted through private adoption. She biologically belonged to a relative and birth father whereabouts were unknown. At first, birth mother wanted to keep parental rights and my ex wife and I would just have guardianship. When we asked for child support, she voluntarily relinquished her rights allowing us to adopt. We also had to run an ad in the local paper seeking the birth father. The court automatically terminated his rights as he never came forward.

According to Jim is comedy gold
I always found Yes Dear pretty funny. Missed it in it's original run. Always had a thing for the wife (Kim) on it.

Cord Cutters Thread
I use locast.org for the local channels. You just sign up and enter your home zip and gives you all the channels available OTA. It's not available in all markets, but I've changed my home zip before so I could watch locals in another area. The app is available on most devices had has a free version that runs an ad every 20 mins or so and you have to refresh, or there is a paid version that is like a $5/month donation. I was grandfathered in to the paid version for free last year somehow (they were offering it at the beginning of the shutdown).

Longmire
I'm halfway through season 2 and had a random though last night. I know tv and all and have to suspend belief and like @Gil Bang said it's time adapted, but having a hard time with the fact the county seems to have a murder every week or so and only has a 4 member SO? Either way, still enjoying it and will finish it out.

- Post Covid, Getting Back Into Office
Even when I am in the office, I'm technically remote. I work in a centralized accounting office, but the plant I am assigned to is based in Illinois.- Rick and Morty
- Post Covid, Getting Back Into Office
I started with a new company last June and was fully remote to start. They brought us back into the office in August and allowed remote work 2 days a week. My understanding was pre-covid they allowed remote work once a week, but I'm hoping this 2x a week policy stays around.- Longmire
Thanks for the reminder, I had forgotten about Longmire. Started it yesterday and am hooked.- 24 Hours in a Waffle House

FYI. Academy has a 4 burner outdoor gourmet for $199 (normally $299). Seems to have decent reviews as long as it stays seasoned and covered.- I'm An Alcoholic
So thankful for this program and my daily reprieve. I was presented with a legal scenario a little over a week ago that would have lead me to a drink if it weren't for the program. Instead, I see it as an opportunity to make some amends and right some wrongs of my past. Grateful to be here. It's a good day to have a good day.- Loki on Disney+
Wow, definitely in. Just as good as WandaVision. - Post Covid, Getting Back Into Office
