  1. And Nueces. Just encouraging visitors, people in flood prone areas, boats/rv’s etc. to leave early. Unless something changes this is not going to be a big deal here. Very small category 1, possibly 2.
  2. Life in Paradise. To be clear I’m got no problem with them. They seem to be the only decent management company down here anymore.
  3. Last few updates the track has stayed pretty constant for the center to go in between Rockport and Port O’Connor. That’s good news here because Port A is jam packed with tourists and none of them seem to be leaving. We have a rental in our condo leaving tomorrow and another rental coming in tomorrow for a week. Just talked to the management company and the people are still planning on coming tomorrow. Fucking idiots.
  4. Yes, there are some very large sharks at Texas beaches. But I mean, there is a fucking video of this shark on this thread . It’s a 6 foot long bull shark. Good grief.
  5. You can’t possibly be this stupid.
  6. Damn going to miss you again. Was supposed to fly to CR today for the rest of the summer but this storm coming made me push it back to the 11th. Catch you and Luna this fall.
  7. Yeah had a flight to Costa Rica this afternoon. Went to bed last night still planning on going but just had to change it to late next week since current track has Beryl coming basically straight through Port A. Fuck this storm (and fuck Harvey forever).
  8. Yup no real damage from the storm and it is already crowded as fuck. July will be even worse but thankfully I leave town for the summer July 1st. Sip Yard finally opens tomorrow. Should be a great new addition bringing much needed additional food options (and yet another bar). https://www.sipyardporta.com not much info there but I do know that there is space for 5 or more “restaurants” (food court style), 2 bars, and a stage for live music. It’s a 3 level place and the upper deck has a really good 360 view of the water/beach/town. As far as the food i believe 4 spaces are leased out already - pizza and wings, taco joint, Asian-fusion, and I think Coffee Waves is doing something. I’ve already had the pizza and wings and also a taco and both were really good.
  9. As good as all this feels, I’m extremely pissed off at Chris Beard right now.
  10. I’m flying back from Scottsdale to Corpus Christi through Houston Hobby on Thursday. I’m fucked. I got stuck at Hobby for almost 72 hours in either the tax or Memorial Day flood. It was not fun.
  11. Yup. There just isn’t anything else to do. Bars will be packed.
  12. Not great for the kind of fishing trips I do but if I ever had to run a center console that would be the one. Amazing boat man. Congrats.
  13. Saw their report. I’ve forgotten what make/size boat that is. Y’all had a great trip.
  14. @midtownhas an interesting experience
  15. It wouldn’t make much sense unless the owner knows for a fact they are keeping the boat a long time. I’m not sure a Seakeeper would move the sales price much if at all. That said, they are amazing and I don’t know how I ever lived without one.
  16. Yeah I remember your posts about this boat. That’s the same layout as mine and I really like the side master (old boat had the master forward which sucked). 150k would probably be in the ballpark on fixed expenses as an average but it’s tough to say without a lot more info. And that figure can fluctuate pretty wildly year to year but I know you are easily in a position to handle it. That boat probably has CAT 3412 engines which are reliable and relatively easy to work on. Depending on how many hours are on the engines a boat that age is likely due for an overhaul very soon if it hasn’t already been done. Same with the generator(s) but that’s much less expensive. Anyway, no way I would ever give that deal on my boat to someone paying 10% and then letting them use it for 36 days every year. You are getting a good deal.
  17. More later got a few things to do right now. But by “aftermarket stabilizers” do you mean a Sea Keeper? I’ve got a Sea Keeper 9 on my boat so that should be the right size. It’s about 200k installed. And what year is the boat?
  18. 15-20% total. It’s generally best just to give the captain the entire amount and let him decide what he wants to give the deckhand. Also I’ve tipped more than that and less than that depending on how hard they worked. I tipped 5% on a charter in Cabo that really pissed me off by killing a marlin for no reason. Looking back on it I shouldn’t have tipped them anything.
  19. Aransas Pass HEB (if it’s open). Otherwise at that time of morning your only choice is probably a convenience store. You aren’t going to recognize it.
  20. Knowing the price of Tulemar I’d say 20% or less of the price of the house rental for everyone. Divide that up between house staff and concierge however you feel fit but a lot depends on how much they’ve done for you. 10% would still be a really good tip; they don’t expect anything at all really.
  21. Better option - Hire someone to do it for you.
  22. Have to run an errand out to Calallen today. Cotten’s BBQ any good? Or any other recs?
  23. Yeah, this is a great schedule compared to previous years.
