  1. Fuck yes we won. More details tomorrow or whenever but we had 4800 points. Second place had 2600. Amazing day.
  2. Oh no doubt. No need to exchange at home but once here anytime you (not you I know you’ve been here, really just referring to Ernest who has never been) use an ATM get colones instead of dollars. I just really meant as soon as I get in country I pay for everything in colones or credit card. I’ve been here 6 weeks now and I’m pretty sure I haven’t spent any dollars other than our driver to get us to the coast from SJO. His price is always dollars and I’ve used him for years. But I get annoyed with the cab driver who says ok that’s 10,000 colones or 20 dollars. They are stuck in 2012.
  3. Crushed them today prefishing a one day tournament that’s tomorrow. If the fish are still there tomorrow we’ll probably win because nobody else is fishing where we were. Small tournament only 23 boats and not a lot of money involved. it’s a sailfish ONLY tournament. At some point today I looked at my captain that I’ve fished with for years and years and said “man, if you had told me we would ever fish a tournament where we would say oh shit it’s a marlin don’t catch it I would have thrown you overboard for being insane”. But here we are.
  4. And rip you off on the exchange. Use your credit card whenever possible. The marina here has a great ATM. Withdraw cash in colones.
  5. @midtownwatches that more closely than I do. Sometimes I find just changing your travel day by a day or 2 can make a big difference. The price going up now may be just due to rising fuel costs.
  6. Do NOT do the National park. Sure if you are here for a few weeks it’s fine but you’re going to see all of the animals on the Tulemar property. They’ve got some amazing national parks in this country but MA isn’t one of them. Besides I’m going to take yall on the boat and you’ll be able to see the beaches there from a much better view.
  7. Heck, there is or at least was a 200 foot yacht and 80 foot sport fishing boat owned by the Russian finance minister an hour up the ocean from me in Costa Rica. If I find out it’s still there I’ll split them with any of y’all that want to come seize them with me.
  8. You are correct. And the trip insurance isn’t necessary for vaccinated people but it’s nice to have anyway. Be sure to wait to fill out your health pass until less than 72 hours before your flight. The airline should send you a link to do that.
  9. Cindy also went to the hooker bar in Jaco with a friend of mine (during the day) while I was out fishing earlier this week. She enjoyed talking to the working girls, said it was nice and fun.
  10. I’m pretty sure if y’all were here the misadventures in Costa Rica thread would be much more fun. We had 3 hookers behind the bar 2 nights ago with our favorite female bartender but I didn’t get a pic. fail, neg, I know.
  11. Well shit I thought you lived in Motown. I’ll take note.
  12. Jesus fuck I posted that after Allen was getting fouled from behind and was whistled for a charge and then their guy drove for an and 1 and we didn’t touch the guy. The refs were atrocious today for both teams. So yes fuck the refs and fuck your CR posting contrarian ass.
  13. Dude I’m not blaming the refs. They’ve been wildly inconsistent for both teams. They suck in general. The flop call was a joke. And we are playing like shit this half. Not time to panic though.
  14. Jfc just let these teams play. Absolute trash refiing
  15. Snowshoe was great. It’s where I learned how to ski and I went there every winter as a kid.
  16. My dad grew up in West Virginia. He was offered a scholarship to play basketball at WVU. He’s never heard of Motown.
  17. The enclosed bridge? I think it’s a 92’ and would be over 10 million. One of its sister ships is here in my marina. I’ll try and get a picture.
  18. Closer to 10 million if you want a new one. The red one is for sale for 8 millionish and the brand new one behind it is a 71’ Garlington. The picture doesn’t do that one justice. It’s gorgeous with incredible lines. Not sure on price but it’s likely similar.
  19. Every private boat here has all that nice tackle. It’s insane what we spend on that stuff but it works and it lasts. The priciest part is those LP electric reels to run the dredges. I about fell over when my captain told me how much we spent on them. Also I do not have it but that boat and pretty much all of the big boats here have recently installed commercial periscope sonars. You can mark bait of course but you can also pick up fish from 1000 yards away and differentiate between sailfish and marlin. It’s crazy. And will only set you back about 150,000.
  20. @hugethat’s the new Miss Behavin first boat in the background
  21. Smooth Move, 74 foot Spencer I got to fish 3 days this week, gorgeous boat if you ignore the red hull and fast. Easy cruise at 35 knots and fast cruise at 42 knots which we were doing in the video. I think it tops out at 48. Mezzanine seating has air conditioning blowing out of the backrests. I think I could get used to it. It’s on the market for about 8 million. IMG_0245.MOV
  22. Fished 3 days this week on the big Spencer called Smooth Move. Crazy coming in at 42 knots. I’ll put some pics on the boat fanatic thread. It’s available for around 8million if anyone is interested. Marlin fishing is still good but the sailfish bite has fallen off a cliff. IMG_0240.MOV
  23. Yeah they just got a new one in the 70’s. Freaking gorgeous boat. I was right next to them in the marina few days ago and should have taken a pic.
