2024 Presidential Election Thread - Let's keep the party going.

I wonder how much this is happening. If you're a decent person and love your country, but your spouse is a hard core insurrectionist and hate monger, I mean, how do you maintain respect for them? -

Looking at this from just a common sense perspective... In 2020 Biden beat Trump pretty handily. Enough so that anyone who wasn't trying to overthrow the election knew all the trump stuff was bullshit. Since then trump has initiated an insurrection, stolen classified information and potentially sold it to our enemies, been arrested and charged in a multitude of federal and state crimes, been tried and convicted in NY or 34 felonies, has had almost everyone who worked in his administration either get arrested or call him a fascist, and has gone all out cranking the racism and fascism up to 11. Meanwhile, the country's economy under Biden/Harris has been strong, there have been no major scandals, no major disasters, no recessions or depressions, and every day American life is pretty much stable post pandemic. Nothing points to a close race. I think the vast majority of voters are just tired and fatigued by the nonsense and want no part of polling. -
Sir, may I remind you about merely 2 years ago and the "red wave"... Oh, wait, carry on

That gay comedian who was going all Nazi on Puerto Ricans is one of Rogan's best friends. So Rogan has him on and just lets him ramble all of his demented nonsense for 3 hours, then his friend and comedian that's a part of Rogan's stable of comedians goes full Hitler at a trump rally in New York? Are they just incredible stupid or are they trying to sabotage him? -

Two things I wonder about that have to do with Sark. First, why does he almost never go to pump and go, Sluggos, etc. to counter the DBs jumping up on all those quick RPO outs and WR screens? They don't even have to be deep shots, just pump fake it right away to start the game and establish it's there. It would also take advantage of our lead blocking receiver getting blown by so often. Defense won't know the difference. Second, why do we run so much zone running scheme when Sark recruited the "big humans"? Why are Cam Williams and DJ out here trying to run a scheme designed for small, quick feet linemen? Let them fire off the ball and go hat on hat in more straight ahead man blocking schemes, pin and pull, etc. Replace Connor with Neto if need be, but that just seems to fit what Flood as recruited to the position better. A lot of their holding calls are in the run game, and I think that's a function of getting their hands outside the pads while trying to move into position to zone off their side. A defense that has to worry about those dudes firing off the ball at them also will lose steam on the pass rush. Just seems like some weird choices and Sark has a bit of a governor on the offense. Is it because he doesn't trust Quinn? -

Sir, you have been watching Dak Prescott, haven't you? -
Saw the thread just pop up and thought maybe he has re-animated and there's a zombie Patrice making fun of how insanely upfront people have gotten about the intense racism he knew they always had. His skit about always getting a receipt, even for a single donut, because a black dude always needs proof of payment just in case is still a favorite. While there's some truth to his claim that it's better to know the racists up front rather than them concealing it behind your back with smile, I have to admit it's jarring when they're using it to try and take over the government. And terrible when you find out some of them are in your own family.

Yeah, the criminal justice system was never set up to handle criminals at the highest level of government. That responsibility was given to the American people through voting. When the systems were set up who was doing the voting? To those people in that era there was no way to ever fathom a 300+ million American population of every different ethnicity on the planet, the majority armed to the teeth, and full of ignorance, intellectual laziness, and stupidity. All being bombarded by pro-fascist propaganda 24/7 through devices in their pockets. The system is completely outdated and needs to be overhauled to account for today's culture and climate. The only thing that can save America from fascism in this outdated form of government is Harris, Walz, their people, and non ignorant, non fascist Americans. If the US population has become unable to maintain even a basement level, barely functioning representative democracy then we will all lose it. There's nothing anyone can do once we hit that tipping point. Let's just hope that point hasn't been reached yet.

Dallas Cowboys 2024 Season Thread -- Jerrah the Asshat Rides Again
Hermanator replied to Patrick Bateman's topic in Football
Every top defensive player is injured and out. The offense has almost all of the high payroll guys on the team even without considering injuries, including the highest paid QB ever. This is a team that is built to win with offense with the offense carrying a decent at best defense. Salary cap requires it. Somehow the defense held the niners to 6 points in the first half. Offense only scored 10 off of that. That's inexcusable. Then after half time Aubrey fucked up the kick giving them the ball on the 40. For the entire 3rd quarter the offense went: 3 and out punt Interception Punt That's beyond inexcusable. They don't start scoring until down 3 scores in the 4th and the niners relax on defense. Sounds familiar. Then the defense even gives them the ball back with over 3 min left to go win the game and they go 4 and out. The defense isn't built to hold up all game long if the offense does nothing. The personnel and salary on that side of the ball isn't there. -

Culture comes from the top. The idiotic hillbilly owner attacking radio hosts and the coach on his last year that mentally checked out during that Green Bay embarrassment. Dak getting paid $60 million a year to suck while his defense of backups holds a team to 6 points in the first half on the road doesn't help though. -

Quinn "La Joya" Ewers - The Man The Myth The Mullet

These CFB people cant watch every game. There's way too much to see, and with today's 10 second attention spans they feel they have to get content out RIGHT AWAY or else miss out on clicks. They watch the biggest matchup of the week and maybe 1 other game. They all watched out game with Georgia. Not one of them watched is play yesterday. They're just going on stats and repeating what each other say in a big circle jerk. Team specific people watch their team's games. Both IT and Bobby's Kids said Quinn was better but lacking and had a decent yet uneven performance. -

He was as close to 100 percent as he'll get this past Saturday. He was back to proper mechanics (as close as he ever gets) throwing the ball. He stepped up in the pocket and made throws. He showed he could run a little to get a first down. The inability to read the line and maneuver around defenders for throws has always been him. We got burned by his deflected passes in the playoff game. It happened to him in a lot of games last season. If he hasn't learned by now he's not learning here with this program. He can't consistently throw an accurate deep ball. Not enough to make defenses respect it. DCs know Sark is going to get him involved in the quick game early because if he doesn't have easy throws early he gets wildly inconsistent and his mechanics go to shit. He's just a predictable QB. Very accurate when right on short throws and intermediate throws, but can't throw deep balls. Can't maneuver in the pocket well at all. Can't burn you with his legs. Has to have short rhythm throws early to get him into a game. Just too many predictable things a decent defense and good DC can tee off on. -

That game was the most visual representation of post Jimmy players era Jerry Jones Cowboys football. Severely shorthanded defense pulls out a miracle and holds SF to only 6 pts in the first half and the offense with a $60 million per year QB and $35 million per year receiver only score 10. Predictably that shorthanded defense starts getting figured out and worked in the 3rd and the offense scores 0 in the quarter. Deficit grows to 17 early 4th, Niners get complacent in prevent style defense, so offense is able to move the ball and score twice. Niners have to come out of prevent and start defending again to lock the game down and offense doesn't gain a yard going 4 and out. Another embarrassing loss. This is the major problem. I said way back when that Dak's ability to be a top end QB depended 100 percent on his ability to beat teams with his legs. Defenses having to account for his run opened everything up for him to be able to operate within his skill set. Once he lost that ability it's all downhill for him, especially in crunch time. He isn't good enough to just be a pocket passer. Horrible contract. -

Ironically, he's fully supporting the politicians that want to remove the systems that are keeping him from a Darwin fate. So far -
I have to give Deion a lot of credit. I know the big 12 is weak, but he has a shit show for an OL and decent at best defensive talent but has managed to compete and turn it around after that embarrassing performance at Nebraska.

I think it's a combination of factors. Part of it is it's very difficult to improve and takes a level of effort some people don't want to give, but I think a lot of it is people mature at different times and the recruiting services can project equal levels of future improvement on people that are closer to finished products at 18 than their peers. I think Johnathan Gray fits in this category. I don't think he failed to work hard enough to improve at UT, I just think he was an exceptional HS running back who was a lot closer to maxed out physically than someone like D'Onta Foreman. By all accounts he was a very hard worker, but he just couldn't reach a level that Foreman was able to get to. I'm not sure where Armani fit, honestly don't remember much about him. He may have been more maxed out than people thought, or he might have been more complacent with his abilities coming out of HS and didn't put as much effort in. Or a combination of those. Then of course you have those like Romance Taylor who had all the physical room to grow to be an NFL player but held themselves back with poor judgement and a lack of dedication. A think a great example of a late bloomer we have right now is Taaffe. Was productive at Westlake but had a ton of room to grow physically coming out of HS and has done everything necessary to produce that growth.

So this account just shows up in mid summer of an election year and starts spouting racist, and frankly fully retarded, propaganda? Should we call for a fatwa on this one? Seems disingenuous -

We're seeing defenses with better athletes can make the offense bog down when we can't hit them deep. They're sitting all over the short passing game and intermediate stuff. The OL has been terrible. Given the level of competition difference they may have been worse today than a week ago. The OL and TEs are so insanely sloppy and undisciplined in run blocking. Flood has to be ready to bust a gasket after this 3 game stretch. Our offense is just been exposed as sloppy at OL and TE and very limited at QB. As much as I hate to say it I think the right call is to go Arch and start prepping him for the starts for the rest of the season. His floor this year is lower than Quinn, but his ceiling is higher as he can take the top off defenses and make the offense difficult to guard. We aren't winning a title with an offense this limited. Our OL isn't good enough to keep Quinn in optimal conditions against good defenses. We need a QB that can move and make plays happen. -
