  1. My grandpa left me a Mickey Mantle baseball card in his will...so, this hits close to home.
  2. I'm no maritime lawyer, but quick google search disagrees...
  3. I didn't remember that. Either way, Hannah clearly broke some kind of rules or I'm sure they'd have had to issue an apology. But, I guess the rules just shouldn't apply to her or what?
  4. Yeah, Malia may have a broken picker / daddy issues / man problems or something. She comes off as an otherwise pretty intelligent, strong, independent woman until she gets a dude. Then she kind of just loses her shit.
  5. She had a weed pen too if I recall correctly, which apparently isn't legal. And she hadn't declared the valium prescription. Not the biggest offense ever, but if something were to happen, little technical shit like that could come back and bite them pretty hard. Them being the rest of the crew, the owner of the boat, etc. I mean, yeah...a better script would have been for Hannah, Sandy and Malia to have a three way, but I still don't think the way it went down is a reason to boycott watching anything with Sandy and Malia in it.
  6. I sent off to renew mine on 10/18. After hearing all the horror stories about how long it's taking, I hired this company to expedite things (after some pretty extensive research). I think it was around $200. Have trip on 12/7 so I'm either fucked or money well spent...we'll see. I'll report back.
  7. Well, yeah but I just thought that was all reality TV drama bullshit that's part of the whole reason we watch this crap. No? Truth ^
  8. Railroaded? Might have to go back and watch it to refresh my memory, but I don't remember anything egregious about them having to fire Hannah for breaking admiralty law, which could have put everyone associated with that vessel at pretty severe risk. If anything, fuck Hannah for thinking she's above the law and putting everyone else in a potentially really shitty situation with her seflishness. I mean, it's fucking maritime law that she blatantly broke. Was it just the way that they handled it or what am I missing here?
  9. Can I get a recap? Pretty sure I've seen them all, but I don't have them all memorized by season and episode number.
  10. Show me on the doll where sandy and malia touched you. Or didn’t touch you? Lol I’m not a huge Sandy fan, but I don’t find her intolerable to the point of the whole show being unwatchable. And I got no probs with Malia at all. In fact, she’d get it if I ever saw her IRL. You know what I’m sayin? Well, maybe not from me…but a friend of mine. Him and her would definitely get…it…on.
  11. Found it and watched. It was buried in the “extras” section of the DVR list that’s usually filled with a bunch of trailers and previews and outtakes crap. Thanks
  12. When did this air? I checked my DVR feed and it didn't record for some reason.
  13. Tell me you're not an Oregon fan without telling me.
  14. This ^ I'll even throw in a few of the big brother pumpkin whatever things from time to time...
  15. Candy corn gets a bad rap. It’s not the best candy by any means, but it’s better than most people make it out to be. Plus you can make them look like vampire teeth in your lip. So, there’s that.
  16. Little under. Hey, even Saban and Belichick can't win 'em all.
  17. All good to hear. Initially thought we wouldn't want to be right in town as we had set out to do more of a typical Caribbean beach trip. But, we've always wanted to check out St Barth, and person after person has told us exactly what you're saying, so we feel like we'd be pretty stupid to ignore everyone's advice. I don't generally like French people or French food (I like their fashion, architecture and some aspects of their overall culture), so not really sure what the hell I'm thinking. But I'm sure I'll adjust and adapt. Resort looks pretty great. There's no pool, but apparently we have a private plunge pool at our bungalow so that'll be fine I'm guessing. Plus Shell beach is supposedly a 3 minute walk with Shellona being part of our resort, so that all sounds pretty good. Got a good little list of recs started. We'll get some of these into the rotation for sure. I guess I better listen to everyone on this too. I don't love driving. We uber or get a driver or take the house car just about everywhere we go when going out and/or traveling like this, especially if we're drinking. But again, person after person says we need to get a car, so I don't want to be stupid and ignore that. I hate when people ask for all sorts of travel advice, and people tell them and they completely ignore it all then wonder why it wasn't very good. So, need to heed my own advice. I'm assuming we can valet just about everywhere? Our actual dates are Dec 6 - 13 so hoping we are there just before it starts getting too crowded. Couple days of overlap maybe? Got a good list of restaurant recommendations going. Will make sure these are all included and try to work most/all of them in. Is it best to just have hotel concierge get us all our reservations or should we try to do them one-by-one on our own? It's just wife and me and we are all set on this. Tradewinds from San Juan it is. Pretty sure we're doing a day charter on a VanDutch with a captain (recommended by some other friends or ours). Feels about the right speed for our first trip. What you're describing does sound cool though. Probably need to table that for the next time we go though as I don't want to dedicate 2 of our days to boating. Thanks, Johnny. Appreciate your time and well thought out response. I'll report back. And please give Ginny our love.
  18. Edit: changed hotel to Hotel Barrière Le Carl. I guess we have a view of the bay, which looks cool. I thought I wanted to be on the beach, but after reading this thread and talking to some other people who go regularly, it looks like we were going to be faaaaaarrrr from everything (at least by St Barth standards). So, I guess we're staying in town. I mean, god forbid I actually research and do my homework before I book. No worries though all changed. @wild_turkey @Johnny Sack @ChiTownDoc and others...what else do I need to know? Do I need a reservation everywhere we go or can we just wing it every day? Do I really need to rent a car or can we hire a driver to take us places? I know they don't have uber or whatever, but is there an island equivalent? I hate driving...especially after a few drinks...in a foreign place...especially at night. What else?
  19. I had originally nominated MiCo HPV, but later dropped it as I didn't really think it would be somewhere I would go if it weren't close to me. I was trying to nominate places I would actually go (at least somewhat) out of my way to try. Seems like more of a neighborhood place to me and if I really ever felt like Mi Cocina, I'd probably just go to whatever one was closest to me. But, yeah that location is good people watching, consistent, good TexMex food, drinks and great service. And that whole "limit 2" thing on the Mambo Taxi is bullshit. It used to be that way like 20 years ago, back when it was the OG. But now it's just a solid margarita. And just about every texmex joint in town has knocked it off, they just call it something else. Like "swirl margarita" or "margarita sangria" or whatever. However...I think the OG super-strong one might be back, at Doce Mesas around Knox Henderson. They call it "The Mico (mambo king)" and since it's his joint and I'm pretty sure he invented the original, it would make sense. Anyway, I had 3 last time I was there and was pretty damn sloshy. Not sure if it's because I just hadn't eaten much before I got there or if they are WAY stronger than the mambo taxi at Mi Concina, but I know I felt it A LOT more than I do 3 mambo taxis at MiCo.
  20. Early December trip booked. Staying at le Sereno. Seems like a pretty nice little vacation. Tell me everything I need to know...I mean, that hasn't already been discussed.
  21. Had Rodeo Goat earlier this week…so, this hits close to home. Damn good burger and half price cheese fries on Wednesdays.
  22. Looks like 9:00 curfew with indoor restaurants at 50% and outdoor restaurants at 75%. That still right? Anyone been recently?
  23. Haha yeah, I would be less comfortable being that guy than I would be having to wear a mask.
