  1. Good grief, this guy: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12489287/larry-sinclair-barack-obama-cocaine-sex-tucker-carlson.html
  2. This is why Senate rules/traditions are all wrong for the 2010s: https://www.cnn.com/2023/09/06/politics/tuberville-holds-what-matters/index.html There’s nothing in the Constitution, US law or the Senate rulebook that spells out affirmatively why and how individual senator should have the power to gum things up. The holds courtesy evolved in the 1950s, according to this informative 11-page reportfrom the Congressional Research Service, an offshoot of Senate rules, which allow individuals to insist on relatively large amounts of floor time to be used for anything, including relatively routine nominations. Normally, these noncontroversial nominations are dispensed with “unanimous consent,” meaning without the use of floor time.
  3. Wait. Hold it. The big reveal for me in this is that he has a girlfriend…unless of course his boyfriend’s name is Girlfriend.
  4. Very true. In that regard, it makes perfect sense why Paxton would select a seemingly emotional weak pleaser to complement his roughshod approach to management.
  5. This could get interesting, seeing as how Governor Brashear has not committed to appointing a Republican: https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/politics-news/kentucky-governor-wont-commit-gop-appointment-mcconnell-steps-rcna103068 State laws vary when it comes to filling congressional vacancies, and the Kentucky General Assembly changed its procedures in 2021 after the GOP-controlled legislature was able to override Beshear’s veto of a bill that limited the governor's power to temporarily fill a Senate vacancy. Under the amended law, the governor selects a Senate appointee from a list of three names submitted by the state executive committee of the outgoing senator’s affiliated party. Kentucky state law previously permitted the governor to appoint a replacement for a vacant Senate seat until the next general House election, which occurs every two years. In a veto statement, Beshear cited the state Constitution in suggesting that the bill “improperly and unconstitutionally" restricted the governor’s power to fill Senate vacancies.
  6. Both should be in the Georgia promotional video during football games.
  7. As I watch this witness, he’s not what I thought the AG’s top Lieutenant would be like. Not at all.
  8. Angela got the priciest countertops. She doesn’t care
  9. I saw the fascinating documentary on his life. Learned he grew up in Dallas. The prison video was unreal: https://www.biography.com/crime/richard-speck#
  10. He’ll more than likely get shanked or end up being his cell block’s version of Richard Speck.
  11. We should never let Roberts forget his assertion that the kind of racist shit Alabama is trying to pull yet again, belonged to another era and no longer exists.
  12. There must be some reason you want to wade in the weeds. Help yourself.
  13. Your anger seems misplaced. The Brits correctly named our disorder. We’re the only 1st world country with a macabre obsession with guns. There’s just no way to get around that fact.
  14. We have 26 other amendments but we don’t obsess over those. We have to dig deeper to determine why we’re so deeply dysfunctional when it comes to gun love. It’s not as simple as blaming the kind of carnage we choose to live with on mental illness. The recent murder of the TCU student demands a closer examination as to why a guy with a gun sets out to murder people he doesn’t know just because he can.
  15. The Brits say our obsessed with guns is the second worst thing about America. Imposing Trump on an unsuspecting world is first.
  16. It would be a water and oil mix at every one of those places. He won’t kiss Cigar ass and his bravado would wear on a lot of these Southerners. Colorado is perfect for him. More liberal environment and boosters so desperate to win they’ll leave him alone so long as he wins.
  17. Would have preferred to see some defense, but you’re not gonna get that with up tempo offenses in 100° heat.
  18. Well, it wasn’t exactly Minnesota - Nebraska, but it was a thoroughly entertaining game.
  19. Once Dion gets his players in place across the board, his teams may be the talk of college football. He’ll be the shit talker of the B12 who will back it up.
  20. Sure, Prime could change his mind, but he was adamant in 60 Minutes interview that he would never coach in the pros because of players attitudes.
  21. Tuned in to watch Bear on Big Noon Kickoff. Have to admit he looked a little uncomfortable in a suit and dress shoes.
  22. He may have been speaking hyperbolically, but I just heard Urban Meyer pick Texas to be in the CFP, “because they are loaded with 5* athletes at every position.” Isn’t this evidence of UT fully leveraging its financial advantage?
