  1. Well in the past year my stepdad dropped dead of a heart attack the week before last Christmas, my partner's Aunt who she is closest to committed suicide and her cousin died of a fentanyl overdose the day before Thanksgiving. We dgaf this Christmas season and got each other all kinds of stuff like a record player, an apple watch, airpods and an electric guitar and amp among many other things. We also already opened most of our presents cause fuck it. I'm going to San Antonio to meet much of her extended well to do latino family for the first time and am actually pretty excited. Her family is really cool and easy to get along with so I'm looking forward to having drinks and enjoying time with what is now my family. After Xmas we are meeting my siblings in Bartlesville, OK for my Dad's 78th birthday. He and my wicked stepmom aren't doing well at all and this might be the last time I ever see him tbh. I have a feeling he's got a year or two left but it'll be nice to see him and my brothers and sisters. Fingers crossed it goes well because my sister Laura is batshit crazy and bipolar.
  2. The redhead would suck the chrome off of a trailer hitch.
  3. The black chick is hot but that's a definite hit it and quit it as soon as humanly possible situation. No one wants to listen to anything that crazy bitch has to say.
  4. Yes, because most programs want felons who can't help but choke out family members leading their basketball team.
  5. The staff running things. You're fucked.
  6. Eminem absolutely shredded everyone else and Benatar was awesome. No one else can sing anymore.
  7. Yea the past week has been awful. My wife is broken. His 16 year old brother found and revived him to no avail. He was super close to his older sister and his dad. It's so devastating for the family. I bought her a slew of christmas gifts to make her feel better including a guitar and amp she's wanted to learn how to play the guitar.
  8. My partners’s 20 year old cousin became a fentanyl casualty on Wednesday night so this week has been the absolute worst. He was like a little brother to her. My MiLs boyfriend doesn’t seem to give a shit or offer any empathy or condolences and just dipped to Galveston. I’ve still managed to drink beer and bourbon and watch all the sports with the dogs so it’s been okay considering.
  9. Just send the steak and Budweisers to Vietnam for Forrest and company.
  10. Nat Turner rebellion or gtfo migrant workers. Also, this is the absolute most lukewarm I've ever been going into a world cup. The time of year, the slave labor, the stupid country it's in. I just barely care.
  11. Texas football is just one big redundancy.
  12. He needs to run against Cornyn next just to complete the cycle and for the laughs.
  13. Section 12, Grave 384 Gunnery Sergeant John Basilone (1916-1945) was awarded the Medal of Honor for extraordinary heroism in combat at Guadalcanal, Solomon Islands, in October 1942. During brutal fighting with heavy casualties on both sides, he killed at least 38 Japanese soldiers. He returned home to a hero's welcome, including a parade featured in "Life" magazine. But he requested to return to combat, stating that he was just "a plain soldier" who belonged with his unit. On February 19, 1945, Basilone was killed in action leading an assault off the beaches of Iwo Jima. He was posthumously awarded the Navy Cross, the only enlisted Marine to be honored with both the Navy Cross and the Medal of Honor. Medal of Honor citation: "For extraordinary heroism and conspicuous gallantry in action against enemy Japanese forces, above and beyond the call of duty, while serving with the 1st Battalion, 7th Marines, 1st Marine Division in the Lunga Area. Guadalcanal, Solomon Islands, on 24 and 25 October 1942. While the enemy was hammering at the Marines' defensive positions, Sgt. Basilone, in charge of 2 sections of heavy machine guns, fought valiantly to check the savage and determined assault. In a fierce frontal attack with the Japanese blasting his guns with grenades and mortar fire, one of Sgt. Basilone's sections, with its guncrews, was put out of action, leaving only 2 men able to carry on. Moving an extra gun into position, he placed it in action, then, under continual fire, repaired another and personally manned it, gallantly holding his line until replacements arrived. A little later, with ammunition critically low and the supply lines cut off, Sgt. Basilone, at great risk of his life and in the face of continued enemy attack, battled his way through hostile lines with urgently needed shells for his gunners, thereby contributing in large measure to the virtual annihilation of a Japanese regiment. His great personal valor and courageous initiative were in keeping with the highest traditions of the U.S. Naval Service."
