  1. Feel free to shout and startle those drivers. For those that are oblivious, it's a good shock to their system. For those that are having a momentary lapse in judgement, they will know immediately what they are doing wrong and it will be a good reminder for them to change their behavior.
  2. Took the family to Enchanted Rock this weekend for the 1st time. We really enjoyed the views. Hiking up to the top was a nice reminder that I need to get my ass back in the gym! We were limited on time, so we were not able to jump off onto any of the other trails, but we definitely want to go back to hit up some of the side trails.
  3. Any experience or thoughts on using a lower cost real estate service to sell or buy a home? Thinking Redfin or something similar? Can Redfin buy and sell?
  4. What's the secret to making a great margarita? Does the tequila you use make the difference? Is it the Cointreau? What say thee? What's your formula to success?
  5. Is this like the Houston Mayor side squeeze deal? Where are the local news investigators when you need them?
  6. I agree that this is an epidemic that needs more attention. I think a good start is to make sure we have speed bumps in all parking lots. The 5 mph cutoff idea isn't a bad one either.
  7. They had a beautiful service today for a precious child and a wonderful family. I hope that the family, the driver, and all the people affected by this tragedy are able to drive a positive impact from this terrible accident. PLEASE slow down in parking lots and put your phones away while you are driving. You may save someones life in the process.
  8. Well, you don't know the facts here and couldn't be more wrong. I'm sorry you feel the need to appeal for attention in such a somber moment.
  9. Yes, most of the events in my life have lots of kids around parking lots. Baseball fields, football fields, soccer fields, school, swimming pool, the park, Longhorn games, etc..... If you don't have children, you may not be as dialed in on this one, but hopefully this thread can save someone else from a life of regret and misery that this family and this driver are experiencing right now. Honestly, kids are just the subject matter here, but this pertains to all people regardless of age. We all have our heads in our phones and shit can go down fast. As shown here, it can have permanent repercussions. And the parents were right there with the child holding hands. Shit happens fast. Kids have lots of energy and are eager to see the world! Driving is a big responsibility and we need to be reminded at times of what that responsibility entails.
  10. Why doesn't Austin have investigative journalists like this on our local TV stations. I would imagine that they would have a FIELD DAY and ratings would go through the roof!
  11. A friend of mine lost his 3 yr. old daughter this weekend in an accident that could have easily been prevented. Please SLOW DOWN when driving in parking lots, especially around events where there are lots of children around. Next time you are driving in a park, or near a school, or leaving your kids soccer game, put your phone away, slow down and be aware that at any moment, a child may run out in a parking lot and your actions could drastically change your life and others lives.
  12. PM if you have some you wanna sell
  13. Should we offer to give these unfortunate homeless citizens a nice place to live right next to the Mayor's and Council members homes? We could set up some really nice and inviting spots right out in their front yards so they can be close to their constituents.
  14. Do we have any Houston Texans season ticket holders on the board? My son has been asking to go to a Texans game so if you need to unload some tickets, I would love to buy 2 from you anytime this season. No game in particular. He just wants to go see a game.
  15. PhD, do we need to dust off our rain gear to survive this week?
  16. Can we all agree that LSU had ZERO injuries? This was professional soccer learned behavior. It is literally coached from the sideline. The coaches signal to the kids when to fall and act like they have a cramp. It was a strategy that multiple SEC teams use and LSU used it against us and it helped them win. Until the NCAA addresses it, we should employ it as well!
  17. Fucking Flamingo kick! Those tend to turn our poorly!
  18. Yeah, but the Aggies play in the SEC. Big difference. SEC vs. SEC is a fair matchup. We on the other hand don't stand a chance.
  19. Looking to take my son down to watch the beating.
