  1. There's lots of reasons, or they would have done that.
  2. That's not the problem. Some of the Remington designs are timeless. The 870 is arguably America's greatest shotgun, and the popularity of the 700 speaks for itself. The problem is that when your goal is to cut costs and squeeze profit out of the company and move on, and not to make the best guns you can in a certain price range, you end up making terrible products. Just pick up a modern 870 and compare it to the entry level Express from 15 years ago. Night and day difference. The new ones have problems.
  3. the problem is that it is virtually impossible to modernize Colt. They have 150 year old machines in 150 year old buildings. Same thing that happened with Remington. It's one thing to buy the name and make everything on CNC machines in Texas. It's another to deal with the unions, the old equipment, the cramped facilities, the hostility of the Connecticut government, etc.
  4. Colt is an albatross. I wish them luck.
  5. Well that’s not true. It was a problem tweet.
  6. she put beep boop where people were putting their gender pronouns. She admitted she was ignorant to do so, met with Pedro Pascal, whose brother went beep boop recently to educate herself and talk through it, and apologized hardly David Duke material here
  7. I have googled and the only two bad tweets I can find are "beep/bop/boop," for which she met with her costar and apologized, and the most recent ones, which was not "antisemitic" by any stretch of the imagination. Where is the history of antisemitism? FYI I am not defending her because she was told to can the Twittering and she didn't. If I were here, and you paid me millions of dollars to dress up as a space cowboy and say three words a month, and you told me to stop Tweeting, I would not only stop Tweeting, I would get rid of Twitter, throw my phone away, and not even call my parents.
  8. FWIW, whenever you are about to say something about the Holocaust, or "The Jews," you really do want to be careful about how you word things. That one's on her.
  9. I've heard that but have not seen them. If you have a link I'd love to see them. I'm not being combative. I'm being serious.
  10. To be fair, that isn't what she said. She said it was the community culture of intolerance, that was constructed by social forces, that led to a climate in which the Nazis could do what they did. That's a very different statement. And it isn't all that crazy to say that. But she was not as articulate about it as she should be and the point got twisted into her denying the Nazis killed Jews and that Republicans are like Jews being subjected to systemic genocide.
  11. What was the first transgression? The Beep/Bop/Boop thing? I think that was funny. She was dumb to keep posting when warned not to. She is hot and I want her to beat me up.
  12. you can also complain on a message board about them
  13. No I'm saying that it doesn't matter who plays the Mandalorian so it doesn't matter what he *allegedly* posts on Twitter.
  14. Yes you can have a show when the star wears a mask in every episode. Who cares who it is?
  15. I have a 5.56 and will get him used to shooting with that but I want a traditional bolt action for hunting. Thank you.
  16. Because I don't have one and can't think of any reason to buy one since we routinely have 300 yard shots here. I want something that's got some decent ballistics.
  17. All good points. We had a shot at a nice deer this weekend with my .270 but I knew he was not ready so we just watched. Got him fired up for next season, though (which was the point). Between now and next season I'm going to let him shoot about 1000 rounds of 5.56 and then move him up to .243 or 6.5. Like everything else, the secret to shooting is shooting. I have put countless rounds through my .270 but didn't shoot it for about five years until this season. Took it to the range, sub 1" group at 100 yards. Just plain old muscle memory.
  18. I was thinking .243 as well, but then I thought if I got him a 6.5 he could use it forever. Thanks for all the replies. I may just get him a .270 and tell him that's what deer hunters shoot and if he doesn't like it he can go take ballet.
  19. I need a deer hunting rifle for my 13-year-old, who is left-handed (the bastard). I want something that is effective but doesn't have too much recoil. How is the 6.5 Creedmoor as a deer gun? For sake of comparison, I'm a .270 guy.
