  1. You should never shake a baby But my baby's always shakin me... (Actual song that my band would segue into if one of the guitarists broke a string. I forget the rest.)
  2. Chat GPT, please create the mugshot of a medium-IQ man who is convinced he's smarter than everybody.
  3. Mrs. Canecutter has the eagle eye for lost jewelry. There are a couple of found earrings I still need to examine. In the past she has scooped up 18k gold hoops that we sold for 50 bucks. I run them through a specific gravity rig that I cobbled together way back when. It's not high-precision, but it'll sort the gold from the plated copper.
  4. Bought my first silver since 2023. A buck-forty of dimes. I got a couple of Barbers, and the rest Roosevelts, some with post-1964 dates because they came out of silver proof sets. $31.50 an oz., melt.* It's eerie looking at a dime dated 1990s that's silver. Gotta train my heirs to look at edges. The 50 cent piece is my change. I'll use it to bamboozle child cashiers who've never seen one. *D'oH just realized that the proof set dimes are 99.9% silver, not 90%. I got 2 or 3 bucks free silver. Only 400,000 more trips and that's a million free dollars.
  5. Oh boy another show with the image contrast set way high while everybody jabbers in nasal Spanglish.
  6. FDR was also Uppah-Duppah Clahss with sailboats and dogs on radio and who knows what else that let you know that he was the Right Sort. Not a screaming-on-the-corner kaffiyeh-clad nose-ring Poké-bowl-eating non-core-curriculum-knowing tech elf.
  7. I'll see my doc next week, and do whatever she says to do. That method's gotten me 6 years of overtime.
  8. Yeah, @Stringer, it's fun to be sitting in that little room and hear one doctor tell the other: "Mr. Stringer's case is interesting." I wish for you to settle into a nice boring routine where all goes steady-eddy.
  9. That's gotta be the main Karens of the block, anybody else and they'd be screeching about it. But it brings back fond memories of when some Older Kids (probably the Toltecs) built multi-floor child-scale castles out of building supplies left in a field. We had fun exploring them until my Dad found them and disassembled them. He also destroyed a tunnel we had almost caved in on ourselves.
  10. I have an account, don't use it anymore, but not bothering to delete it. I prefer to leave it like a junked car up on blocks in X's weed-choked yard.
  11. Down at the bottom of my street there are three houses almost in a row, they were fairly well-kept 1950s houses, but all 3 owners decided within a few years to rebuild and compete in the "Who looks the most like an inn full of hobbits drinking pints of proper 1420?" Think Olde English without the smell of shit.
  12. Perfect weather where I am right now. Thanks Obama.
  13. At some point in Grandaddy McCanecutter's childhood, his town saw a lot of Jewish migration from what would have been the Austro-Hungarian Empire. One day a teacher was picking on a little foreign girl, who knows why. My grandad offered to kick the teacher's ass if they didn't stop it. The girl grew up fine. My grandad had a checkered school career, but he did fine too. We're still friends with that family. Hope fat Magaboy's balls drop and he breaks out of his cult. It happens.
  14. Cortes woulda busted in and stolen the next 9. But don't try swimming out of Tenochtitlan with too many of them in your pockets.
  15. 100% this. The way things are set up now, I get the drugs I need and the yearly co-pay ends up being the same whether it hits me early or late in the year. I'll see the doc next week and maybe we'll get this sorted out in person. The good thing is that maybe we'll be talking about insurance details instead of a third eye growing on my elbow.
  16. I'm not. This Smart Rx entity showed up, may have contacted my doctor's office, and I am afeared they could foul up a good thing.
  17. Convert all the data into Alexandrine verse, and have a school of blind poets follow you around, declaiming it on command.
  18. Sewage Plant job makes a man step outside of society's expectations.
