  1. Maybe serious, maybe joking, but many's the time that by just going to a physical store, talking to whoever works there, I'll get hold of some perfectly good item they have squirreled away that they no longer advertise, but it works fine, and they make up a discount for it right there. Besides, sitting on one's pimply ass browsing screens is just gross. Unless it's Surly.
  2. People making more money are willing to spend it, support new businesses and/or start them?
  3. Reminds me I need to know what all my male inlaws shoot. I got the women jewelry, now I need brass and lead for the men's Christmas presents.
  4. Troof. As a lazy 20-something I coasted in a job that paid the equivalent of $22/hour 2024 money. I caught some double-pay freelance and started staying way late to finish it. Then a year later I had a printing gig where I was paid piece-work (dude thought I'd work alone at a slow hippy pace) for silkscreen art prints of his paintings. I found three hot chicks at the comic book store, hired them all at 50 cents over what they'd been making, and put them to work as rackers so we could blast out prints like a belt-fed M-60. I'm talking going in at dawn, working til dark, goin out drankin, and getting a fine son off one of them as a bonus. Put dude out of business paying for all the work we produced so I ran off to join the Army. Maxed the ASVAB, joined the Cav Scouts anyway because once you're a baller, who gives a fuck about career training.
  5. Are the pipes freezing next-to/inside the foundation?
  6. I'd need to refresh all my acronyms. Strac Troopers are TDY to Jupiter with acronyms, and no 19DeltaEchoNiner worth his MRE would undo his slide-fastener, interlocking to expel an O1's worth of Bad Liquid Ideas from his gun without some acronymish suppressive fire, TBH.
  7. Thanks for the opportunity, but I never postured myself as a three-piece suit type.
  8. Working plan: Piece out the five chairs aiming to recoup initial outlay and push to make some profit. KEEP the table. It is both useful and beautiful to me. Maybe sell it in a couple of years. But for now, I still have lots of collectible gaming items I never got around to selling because my old eBay photo/shipping room got turned into a painting/printshop studio, and the two don't mix. But for now, newly dry well-lighted basement + classy table = eBay Glamour Shots studio. To sell what? Well here's the tip of the iceberg. A gift from a happy collaborator, her uncle's box of vintage games, almost all with unpunched counters, near mint. I downsell them and the customer gets better than they expected. These have been blocking one end of the hall because the studio is choked with art in progress. Conservatively, I think this box alone is $900 profit if I slow-sell them high after three days' photography. Thanks little non-antique table. If any of y'all have active geek-boners over never-to-be-seen-again SPI classics, háblame and I'll do you right.
  9. Mmmmm MMMMmmmmm.
  10. Seems like it'd be the least they could do.
  11. Friendly fire isn't.
  12. There are two kinds of armies. Ones where the leaders make sure the troops eat before the officers (eg US, British, German, Israeli,) and those where it's typical for the officers to lord it over their flunkies (Most of the rest.) It's not hard to imagine where Elon's Army would shake out. He could, like a proper 3rd world warlord, trick it out with gobs of gear and guys who flinch while trying to impress him. It could cause some trouble until dismantled by guys who know the basics.
  13. Hook a brother up with some whale-head stew?
  14. Watching the game, at snaps the Ohio State players looked like pirates swinging over the railing to plunder a surpised merchantman. Those guys were focused.
  15. It's not my fault he abandoned me. Also, the lock on the liquor cabinet was broken when I found it.
  16. When I'm breaking into your Texas house I'll try to set it up for you.
  17. Next time, for only $250, I will pretend to be your vet. Anyway, the dog is completely normal. Didn't droop or get hyper. We ate leftover turkey together and watched Ohio State cast paralysis spells on Tennessee.
  18. For the Texas-Clemson game, instead of beer I took whatever insulin dose the numbers called for, then grabbed 1/3 of a shrinkflated Snickers Bar (est 17g) to enjoy it over 4 hours nibbling while listening to the game on a clock radio because our entertainment system is stalled out like a Tiger tank in a tar pit. All was good, no "popped eyeball" high blood sugar symptom. Then I remember I forgot to take my Prednisone, the whole thing that once I take it all maybe my kidney heals and I get off this insulin. Alright already. Get back upstairs, and my feral Chihuahua is acting like a failed silent film star in an opium den. She got into my last smidge of Snickers Bar. I snatch the remnants of the candy intact out of her gullet. There wasn't much left for her to eat, like a finger-tip joint size nub. I am guessing maybe a gram or two was chocolate, and it's crappo waxy American chocolate so actually less than that. I'm like "What the hell's the matter with you, dog? You're not supposed to eat chocolate." "You ain't shposed eat chocolate either motherfucker," she astutely ripostes Tried contacting various money-extraction machines, I mean, vets. Then I'm like "she eats full candy bars worth of cat shit logs and is still here, harden the fuck up Australia." Now she watches me, and I watch her.
  19. How much did they get for him, what was their approach and technique, and would they apprentice a gringo assistant because all the gringos trust the gringo...
  20. Well it's not as if the ruins are going anywhere.
  21. Counterpoint: somewhere a screen printer is putting his kids through college thanks to Aggroid buying up 9/10 of all the SEC stickers.
  22. We have reconnaissance results. I went to nearby furniture restorer I know, and he took me into the shop section and gave me a Welcome-to-the-Matrix 5 minute condensed do and don't of restoring basics. Saved me from ruining something, and now I know Kung-Fu. Got some Howard Neutral Restor-A-Finish and some 4x0 steel wool. Dude said I could keep it really simple and basically just carefully clean the pieces. He didn't commit to a value for the table, said it was a shame I only had 3 of the leather seat chairs because they look like actual antiques, and with 4 chairs I got a dinette set, 3 chairs I got dick. For the two fabric seat chairs I said I'd be happy for $30 each. He told me to list them at $75 each.
  23. I just got home. Somebody shoot me the link to watch online? Thanks. Fuck Clemson.
  24. But for whom? For all we know, Elon cloned some of Trump's cells and has grown a living Trump mask that he dons and practices talking through in the mirror.
