Idk man. Pretty sure the last election was heavily focused to GOTV for white women, college educated, and elitist republicans offended by MAGA.
Regular folks were told that they needed to care about democracy and that the economy was amazing. Inflation was treated like the man behind the curtain who the great Oz told us not to pay attention to.
2020 was a race to the wokest until Clyborn (spelling?) decided that he wasn’t playing that and told everyone that Biden was the nominee.
2008,2012, and 2016 all leaned heavily on identity politics.
So when you say that democrats have been messaging towards ‘regular folks’ I just don’t see it. Its always with a qualifier.
Single moms, black families, college educated voters, working class, young women, etc.
The message needs to be broader. Because if everyone can see themselves in it, then you win.
