  1. That's some, uhh, unfortunate timing.
  2. Trump is also master at exactly one thing: flooding the zone. When everything he does seems to be important, then nothing is important. And people understandably tune out. It's impossible to lock him down on any one thing; he and his cohorts are already on to the next lie or corruption. He was constructed in a lab to be the perfect instrument of the right wing info-sphere.
  3. Trump showed how much of our system of government relies on following established norms and decorum and how much that grey area can be exploited with the other branches and the courts too inept to stop it. Sadly, he's exposed those things far more rapidly than we can possibly do anything about them. So it's Trump.
  4. I know you jest, but this explanation more sense than any others that I've heard regarding this trade. Which is to say still zero, but like 0.000001.
  5. "Stop politicizing sports!!!!! Have you no shame!?"
  6. Donald Trump is paving the way for a billionaire oligarchy and evangelical fucks to dictate society's morals...but he's anti-GOP establishment. Jesus fucking Christ. He ultimately does what he's told--often times, unknowingly--from the highest bidder or whomever sucks him off the hardest.
  7. Ouch, bro. Too mean.
  8. More Schumer! If only more people were aware that their guac is at stake!
  9. You realize just how terrible this trade is--and just how amazing Luka is--when I've yet to hear a single person remark how pissed off AD must be for being talked about like he's chopped liver. Collegiate champion, NBA Champion, 5x All-NBA, 9x All-Star, 5x All-NBA defensive team, playing some of the best, playing the most consistent basketball of his career the past three seasons, still a Top 10 player...and the consensus is that the Mavs got hosed (and they did).
  10. Based on what, exactly? The Suns didn't. The Wizards did. They're the Lakers...a dude who has never won a title isn't getting a no-trade clause. But, barring a major injury, that max extension (for $100M less than Dallas would have had to pay) will be in Luka's hands the second that he's eligible to sign it because, unlike Dallas, they're not idiots and realize that having a legitimate superstar under long-term contract actually increases his trade value if it ever came to that.
  11. Also of note, this deal gives Kyrie all of the leverage when he opts out this offseason. Nico HAS to win now, and there's not a single other ball handler on the roster. Can't pay Luka, but going to back the truck up for 33 year old Kyrie? I'm sure that will play out perfectly smoothly.
  12. Lowe brought it up, but this really makes the subtext behind Michael Finley grabbing a beer out of Luka's hand in the WCF celebration locker room a lot more juicy.
  13. I'm fairly certain that you misspelled negotiating mastermind.
  14. No idea why Golden State would want that contract after finally getting out of luxury tax hell. He raises their ceiling to what, 2nd round? And that's probably being generous.
  15. I mean, yeah, kinda. I've been on his bandwagon from the beginning, but...conditioning, defensive liability, leadership/on-court mannerisms, and now injury prone. With SGA and Wemby's ascendance, there's an argument that Luka is closer to the 10th best player than the 1st. Playing devil's advocate a little. Obviously this trade sucks.
  16. Do you not get enough attention? Seriously.
  17. I understand the sentiment, but this tweet is stupid dumb. Everyone in Dallas would be saying, "Luka who?" if they're up 3-1 in this year's Finals. ...it's just not going to happen.
  18. That's my center square! Crushing it over here.
  19. Obviously, being a Warriors' homer, I had this thought was well. Dude hitched his wagon to Luka as his best/last/only chance to ever win another ring. He's a below replacement level player at this point on a play-in caliber team. Ouch.
  20. This. The trade was essentially for PG and the two time and reigning Finals' MVP. And, at the time, SGA was seen as a really nice player who make an All-Star game or two. It still blew up in their faces because they're the Clippers, but it was pretty reasonable in real time. This trade is awful from the jump.
  21. I'm not saying Boston definitely pulls the trigger, but to not entertain the conversation would be gross negligence.
  22. I actually like Tatum more than most, but your inflated sense of worth regarding him is insane.
  23. Agree to disagree. I think they're at least a little worried that Giannis asks out after another year of Doc and Dame.
