  1. Good on him for continuing to take them. I know I've said it 1000 times, but my personal pet peeve is dudes who swallow the ball at the end of quarters.
  2. Getting traded straight up for Bradley Beal would be about the best case scenario for Jimmy. But there's no upside for Miami to do that.
  3. Not when 80% of the population can be distracted with, "Did you hear he wants to call it the Gulf of America?"
  4. Jimmy is about to have his FAFO moment, I'm afraid.
  5. Do you think he included MLK to appear like he cares about finding justice for his assassination, or is he trying to clear James Earl Ray once and for all? Just kidding. He doesn't have the slightest clue--or care--who James Earl Ray is.
  6. I hate when mom and dad fight.
  7. Credit where credit is due. Blind squirrel and all that. But if dumbshits like you truly have their finger on the pulse of America, we're all fucked anyway. So congrats.
  8. The most frustrating thing about these conversations is understanding the frustrations some had with vaccine mandates* with the fear being something to the affect of "if you give 'them' this much power, they'll never give it back and they'll just keep taking" but then those same people being unmoved when that they [checks notes] gave it all back, just like they said they would. *and, obviously, mistakes were made
  9. I made this comment recently in another movie thread, but how do people even learn about new movies these days, including how/where/when they can watch/stream them? Pixar, Marvel, and Mission Impossible movies get heavily advertised, obviously, but how do non-Disney, non-action blockbusters even make an blip these days? Is it all word of mouth? Like others have said, I haven't heard of most of these. A decade ago, I had at least heard of most of the smaller, more obscure nominees.
  10. Why are you on about this? You brought it up randomly in an otherwise serious post about overreaching vaccine mandates. What the fuck does one have to do with the other? If the left "was better at memeing" would more people have gotten vaccinated? Would their message have resonated harder? I grabbed what I thought was a pretty silly, unrelated remark in your post and pointed out how ridiculous it is. Full stop. I made no argument for or against vaccine mandates. And yes, I've only seen that phrase from literal Facebook uncles (I'm sure Elon has probably repeated it) and assorted right wing personalities as a way to insult the left for not being funny, while they watch Greg Gutfield and require humor that beats them over the head with its "subtlety." If it has a deeper meaning than that, then yes, you must have derived that meaning from other conservative corners of the internet. Maybe you're in a bubble as well if you think it's mainstream?
  11. The scary part is that I'm not entirely sure he's wrong.
  12. So please tell me how you fix that kind of stupid?
  13. If you think that I was truly surprised that Trump won the election with the batshit crazy ramblings that I hear from otherwise smart people (in fucking Southern California) daily, you are very mistaken. Also, this thread isn't about people hurting from inflation, housing expenses, etc. that just wanted a change, literally any change would do, and don't follow politics much beyond their kitchen table. I get that. The left failed to reach the apolitcal working class, and incumbents worldwide took a bath this cycle. This thread is to mock people dumb enough to truly believe that Donald J Trump cares about the best interests of this country, and he and his sycophants really do want to help your plight. If you're looking for someone to feel guilty about that, look elsewhere. Lastly, the "machine" that they're rallying against visits Mar A Lago regularly, one is now the co-President of the United States, they control all mediums where most people today actually get their news, and still others openly and blatantly buy off Supreme Court judges...and they don't give a shit because they think the machine is now on their "side." So fucking spare me.
  14. I've got to be honest: I have no idea what you're trying to argue anymore.
  15. Dumbasses like Zeus are basically arguing this: I even agree to a large extent. But they think that admitting that Musk is an emotionally immature, edgelord troll actually helps his defense here. Pretty funny, actually.
  16. I'm fucking surrounded by conservatives with my family, friends, and co-workers. I've tried listening and "paying them a little attention" for 10 years. The propaganda is too ingrained. No messaging from the left will get them to "come around." These people think that parents can be arrested if they don't fully support their 12 year old's gender surgery. How do you combat alternative realities? The best I can hope for is, that in 20 years or so, they'll come to deeply regret pointing the county in this direction. In the meantime, yeah, I'm going to enjoy some FAFO schadenfreude.
  17. Yeah, that's not actually a thing anywhere outside the conservative corners of the internet. Conservatives thinking that they're the funny ones is always adorable. Conservatives are the ones who keep shows like Two and Half Men on the air for a billion years.
  18. So, just to compile all of the excuses for Elon in one place: he's too socially awkward, spastic, (possibly autistic), and uncomfortable in front of crowds to be expected to process in real time that he probably shouldn't (repeatedly) salute his outstretched arm in the air with his palm down on a pulpit in front of millions, regardless of intent. But that kind of person with limited ability for critical thought, impulse control, and foresight being tied to the hip of our current president, our military, our space program, AI, and the EV industry is A-OK. That about sum things up?
  19. Also this. Johnny had finally tuckered himself out from his November shitpost spamming. Please don't keep pulling him back.
  20. I realize that Johnny is trolling somewhat and looking to get his pathetic outrage fix from us, but just imagine typing this out and still being supremely confident that, "Yep, I'm on the right side of history." That's the insanity we're dealing with.
  21. This. I mean, Jokic's numbers are going to look impressive when put next to literally anyone who's ever lived, but why choose MJ's weakest MVP season, when he had clearly lost a step and was primarily a mid-range jump shooter?
  22. No, they're not. They have to outwardly project that pardoning violent criminals is bad, but 75% of them were cheering on Jan 6 from their couch.
