  1. Okay. But that's a completely different, irrelevant point when your original argument was, paraphrasing, "It's not that bad that the sensors didn't realize the car hit a deer; some people don't realize when they've struck a deer."
  2. Yes please. I want to laugh at the loons in Arizona as they spend weeks counting and recounting just in an attempt to decrease Kamala's margin of victory.
  3. Brave man. Surly is not the place to admit that you think you got raped by a ghost.
  4. I guess the concern would be that they view this election as much closer (Cruz too), and their vote may actually matter time around. But, if that's the case, Texas seeming close enough to scare the lazy Rs into getting off their couch is good news.
  5. Does he not get enough attention?
  6. I had just about written off the WSJ because of their out of touch editorial board, but now I see that I was wrong. What wise and discerning individuals with impeccable taste.
  7. I'm spending all day Wednesday on a small boat with someone who went to the Coachella Trump rally. And we're just supposed to do our jobs as normal.
  8. I love this shit. Yeah, they'll probably cause a few unenthused Kamala voters to not get out of their cars or not bother going at all because they just don't want to deal with it. But I bet that number is more than offset by unenthused Trump voters walking through that sea of humanity and 2nd guessing the kind of people they want to be associated with. And those that hear about it and decide to get off their couch and vote just to say, "Fuck you."
  9. I see we've reached the "time for someone else to write your tweets, sir" stage of the election.
  10. Cool, Pennsylvania is a lock. Come on Wisconsin cheating rant, you can do it.
  11. To a point. I think even as 8% defection would be amazing (since every defection essentially counts as two votes), but registered Republicans flocking to the polls at a ~91% Trump vote clip is still bad news.
  12. Do I get to start my "defense actually matters" generic reminder posts in October this season instead of May?? Oh man, I'm going to be annoying as fuck.
  13. This is decidedly NOT the good vibes thread.
  14. I'm thinking that, after a massive Kamala victory, they can convince themselves that all it will take is a significant economic turndown between now and 2026 to dominate the midterms, tying the administration in a policy stalemate, and putting 2028 in play, because they won't have to worry about the anti-Trump vote. So better to pivot from MAGA now. None of that is going to happen, of course.
  15. I agree IF it's a close election. But if Trump keeps Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Georgia, and at least one of Arizona/Nevada blue AND helps turn North Carolina blue and gives Dems an unexpected Senate seat somewhere, there's going to be a reckoning between GOP leadership and the Republican power brokers. The GOP was able to jump right back on the Trump train in 2022--after if became abundantly clear that no one gave a fuck about Ron DeSantis--because, if you squint, the 2020 election was pretty close, and Biden was wildly unpopular at the time. There's a reason why they made Trump wait until after the midterms to announce though. They realize that Trump is poison to their election chances, so if this election proves once and for that he--and his approved cronies--absolutely cannot win in purple states, then something will have to change. But I think it will be close on Tuesday and they'll take the Senate, so, yeah, we're stuck with Trump as the party until he dies.
  16. Who didn't have their parents' worldview as a teenager? I almost feel bad for them. Hopefully, they'll go to college and figure out that girls don't want to talk about crypto and the traditional family.
  17. I understand. I'm staying drunk for a week. We all have our methods.
  18. Of all the things that didn't happen, this didn't happen the most.
  19. Yes, but one truth has clearly remained the same: we are fucking obsessed with celebrity.
  20. Someone like Haley--who has supported Trump in the past--but ultimately drifted away from him (for completely self-serving reasons, but still) at least have a small chance to redirect the GOP while not losing every MAGA supporter (just most). Arnold has been against Trump since Day 1 and hasn't wavered. Even "reasonable" Rs view him as a turncoat.
