  1. I'm not a doomsayer, but do you think this term is going to closely resemble his last in terms of restraint and competent appointees (not that there was a ton last time, but enough)? If you think so, you've literally chosen to ignore all of his actual words. Finding generals who obey without question, RFKjr gets to run all health and science apparatus, deporting generations of immigrants, etc., etc. Which is fine if you don't believe he and his sycophants. We've all realized this long ago that literally nothing out of his mouth matters except for the words that his voters like.
  2. Besides that though.
  3. Listen, I know the popular refrain around here is "don't give oxygen to they're lies" but that's outdated, and it's why we are where we are. You calmly address their propaganda, explain why it's absolutely bullshit, then ridicule them relentlessly for it.
  4. You guys are in denial on this, I'm sorry. There's a reason every single Cruz ad focused on it to shameless degrees. The numbers show it's effective. Agree with bolded though 100%. Kamala should have taken a moderate stance while hammering home how invasive, horrific, and frankly cruel Republican ideas to "solve" the issue are.
  5. It's not, man. It comes up in conversation way more often than I would have dreamed possible 3 years ago. From dumb, offhand jokes to "Can you believe they're [insert propaganda from podcast] with kids?" From people I know who are not reliable R voters. People get really, really dumb when it comes to their kids.
  6. Gotcha. Never visiting this board prior to Nov 2020. Mea culpa.
  7. Sorry, my sentence structure was confusing. Didn't mean to imply that she should have made an entire commercial to take a moderate position on trans rights. A statement or something. She just completely ignored it for her entire campaign as far as I could tell. Her commercials were blah separate of that, focusing on Trump's revenge list or some such.
  8. If you didn't realize that Stassney was doing that as a bit in response to your lot doing the same from 2016-2019, I don't know what to tell you.
  9. I mean, honestly, everyone knew this was coming. 4 years of pretty much nothing but setting new highs in the market: "The numbers aren't real. We're setting ourselves up for a depression." Post-election bump after Trump wins: "Wow, what a market!"
  10. The unintended humor of typing this after gleefully putting Trump back into the White House. Chef's kiss.
  11. Yep. I was definitely worried about that one the second I saw it during a football game. My initial reaction was, "Shit, that's a really good commercial." And obviously a good tagline. Begrudgingly, his team knocked it out of the park with their ads down the stretch. Way less hateful and divisive than earlier efforts while still painting her in a "radical" corner, and, importantly, they didn't let him talk. I've been saying for awhile that trans issues are going to be a much bigger deal in this election than any of us wanted to let on. It sucks that years of culture wars have made 2% of the population a tentpole issue (and drawn targets on their backs), but that's where we are in America. Kamala's ads were extremely blah down the stretch. She needed to say something to the effect of: "We strongly believe that no one should make life altering decisions before they reach adulthood, but ultimately their decision lies between the individual, their parents, and their doctor, and them alone." Not sure it would have had an effect, but can't let their propaganda run unopposed.
  12. Gotta love being lectured on our sources and how far gone we are by someone who has "End Wokeness" and "Libs of TikTok" bookmarked. Chastising us about Russia while they ingest actual paid Russian propaganda. Good shit.
  13. I think the hardest part of leaving the country with small children is the thought of telling their grandparents (and they have 4 sets of them...yay divorce), "Hey, you might only get to see them once every year or two."
  14. I've been kicking the tires on leaving for a few years for exactly this reason. It's a big world. I've lived in a half dozen states, but I'd like to try my hand at another country while I'm still young enough to contribute to their economy and my kids are young enough to adapt to the culture. Spent a month in Australia and really enjoyed it. Obviously a relatively minor cultural shift. My cousin has lived there for a few years, got his dual citizenship and might not come back. Just know that it's difficult getting your foot in the door because a company has to sponsor you and attest that your job cannot be done by a current Australian citizen. Have other friends that relocated to Amsterdam, Germany, Canada with no complaints. Realizing I just listed off 4 places where we'd barely need to learn another language, but I'd definitely be interested in somewhere less English-adjacent.
  15. Ah, ok. So we're biased and siloed because we couldn't see this coming, but you had no idea either. Got it. Pretty sure nearly everyone in the "MSM" was predicting a close race (yes, because no pollsters wants to be too wrong), including Fox News. No one would have been "shocked" by a close Trump win.
  16. You say that, but I don't think you fully realize just how bad it would have to get for these guys to admit fault for their vote and blame Donald Trump for literally anything. $10 eggs and $6 gas? "Oh, this is just the temporary pain before utopia begins." It's never going to be as satisfying as we hope.
  17. Don't worry, guys! Now that Trump is back in the White House, he can finally present all of his evidence of election fraud that he keeps talking about and definitely has!
  18. Up until tonight, they've played absolutely nobody. BUT they've been beating the brakes off of those nobodies--including 3 wins without Steph--so that's always an encouraging sign. Cleveland on Friday, OKC Sunday. So 3 road games in 5 days against the 3 best teams in the league. Should find out a fair amount. They're small but fast, and everyone can shoot. A deep roster of interchangeable parts. 11 guys played 14+ minutes tonight, and Podz was out sick. Hield is shooting lights out (unsustainably so), and has clearly more juice left in the tank than Klay They started 6-2 last year before hovering around .500 most of the season, so I'm a little skeptical, but they're younger and deeper. Comfortably avoiding the play-in game is probably my ceiling right now. The interesting question is Jonathan Kuminga. He's in the last year of his deal and, if this is the year to show a leap, he's off to a slow start. Currently coming off the bench, and he and Kerr's relationship has always been contentious. After giving Jordan Poole the bag and getting very little in return, I wonder if they look to move him for a solid vet instead.
  19. Let him have it. This is 3 years of pent up energy in the making. The little guy will tucker himself out eventually. Him being a piece of shit on the internet is still an incredibly important part of his life, which of course isn't pathetic in any way, shape, or form.
  20. How much money did you make betting on the obvious blowout that you saw coming?
  21. Eventually the math catches up to everyone.
  22. Uh huh. Stop. You know every word of this is true. You would have been the legal system's biggest cheerleader had they had literally any real dirt on ol' Joe. It's cool though. It's not like anyone takes them seriously when they claim that no one is above the law.
