  1. And, just to be perfectly clear, I'm the one apparently bringing CR to the football board by riffing off someone else's post, agreeing that Mowins doesn't bother me any more than her also subpar colleagues. But not the people throwing around DEI and immediately claiming that Ponder got fired due to trans stuff. They're cool.
  2. I'm unsure who that's more insulting to.
  3. Dude, I've been on shaggy(bevo and texas) and Surly for much longer than I care to admit. My first post in CR wasn't until Nov 4, 2020. My bubble of naivete and blissful ignorance was broken with the realization that tens of millions of people weren't just in on the joke, but they actually believed all the bullshit lies and grievance politics. But that's neither here nor there. I don't post on the Football board as much because 1) I rarely ever do in the offseason because there's not much interesting content, 2) The Football board just isn't as funny as it once was, point blank, and 3) Have you seen A&M Football lately? If saying simply "Beth Mowins doesn't bother me like she does others" gets you this preachy, that's a you problem. Seriously though, how much would a male announcer have to suck for you to write this many words about him? Did Booger McFarland cause you this much anguish and strife?
  4. My two entirely unrelated posts in this thread really triggered you this much, huh? God damn dude. But please don't neg me, whatever will I do. Fucking child.
  5. What in the actual fuck are you talking about you fucking lunatic? All I said is that--in the realm of mediocre to bad announcers--Mowins doesn't particularly bother me, and I frankly don't give a shit who's calling the 14th biggest game of the day. Yeah, the criticism that she gets is probably disproportionate to low level male announcers--who no one bothers to learn the name of--because of the sound of her voice, but it is what it is. Chill the fuck out.
  6. Well, you should definitely vote for him then as the only practical, responsible, well-reasoned candidate.
  7. The thing that always gets me about these "Meet MAGA" segments from Klepper and the like is how many willingly sign the forms to allow their faces to be shown with their words. They either think they're crushing it, or it's a dumb American "I get to be on TV!" reflexive impulse. Also imagining what the people who don't want to be on camera must have said...
  8. I can rationalize this disconnect at a lot of companies, but a company that serves food?? Make it make sense.
  9. Same. It's not like they're routinely force-feeding her on the biggest games. There are plenty of mediocre to bad male announcers with annoying-ish voices that also get to call the noon Eastern Northwestern v. Indiana game. But I barely ever notice announcers in any sport.
  10. How spicy (I like what you did there) were they about gold star families, shitting on the grave of John McCain, and calling General Milley a weak traitor? This is like the 200th worst thing that he's said about service men and women. They'll ultimately justify it like they always do.
  11. I've never heard of this Torchy guy, but I'm guessing they don't do street tacos.
  12. It is at least nice to know that Kamala gets to be black when it's time to get offended over white people stereotypes.
  13. If that did play a part, and the "last straw" was Ponder joining in on the cyberbullying dogpile of a female boxer in order to push a culture war in a country that the boxer has absolutely nothing to do with, and then refusing to apologize when their assertions about the boxer were proven to be completely unfounded and wrong... ...then it's pretty hard to feel sorry for her.
  14. I hope they like human excrement on their well-manicured lawn.
  15. Let's not besmirch any female that chooses to get a tattoo that clearly screams "I'm looking for a good time with just about anybody" in an area that requires removing considerable clothing to fully show off.
  16. Long term, absolutely, MAGA is gone and never coming back. But that conspiracy-riddled block is probably only 25-30% of the voting public. The other 10-20% of soft Trump voters will continue living in polite society, but I hope Trump being a two time crybaby loser, plummeting into insanity, and being declared guilty/treasonous in the only case with any real teeth might cause some retrospection. They'll never admit to being conned or being on the fringes of an actual cult, but I'll accept them pretending that they never voted for that loser--and can't believe anyone would--for the rest of their lives.
  17. That's obviously true with MAGA, but it extends to right-leaning "independents" and mostly tuned out dependable R voters as well. They're stuck in this malaise of "yeah, Trump is eccentric, sleazy, and off-putting...but the media is overblowing everything." I have no idea how you would make a story about Trump stand out as uniquely bad these days. They all blend together as just another part of the Trump experience. A real trial for the classified documents with judges using words like treason is really the only (small) hope.
  18. It's a vicious cycle. Go to college--even a comparatively conservative one--start to question all the stereotypes preconceived notions that your parents saddled you with, start thinking for yourself, then go hang out with fattie and friends in the oil fields and Houston suburbs for decades making the same handful of dumb jokes/complaints, join Texags, become your parents.
  19. I mean, yeah, I'm not going to lose any sleep over it. But I don't see the point of a disgruntled former nanny (or whatever) trying to smear him.
  20. I'm not sure that anyone who may potentially vote for him actually listens to the words he says--even though he's clearly slipping--unless there's a real fuck-up. Everything else gets lumped together as "that's just Trump." Flood the zone with enough nonsense, and nothing stands out (or matters).
