  1. Can someone explain this to me like I'm 5? The best I can gather is that Elon hired a firm to GOTV for Trump, and it ended up being a bunch of lazy kids faking their effort level in their apps and playing Fortnite all day instead. Roughly?
  2. Absolutely. Anecdotally, I can tell you I know quite a few young families in SoCal that are very, very worried about what they think teachers and doctors can and can't do to their kids without parental consent. It's infuriating.
  3. Dude had like 17 kids. Can't really blame him for not eating anywhere where $54 and a crisp $2 tip wouldn't cover the whole family.
  4. Why? Because some random waiter may internally chuckle or think you're gay?
  5. Not a great sign about how common place these stories are within the church that "christian recording artist" caught my eye as being more immediately revolting than "child sex crimes"
  6. It's not a can't miss appointment anymore. But it's free, easy, and harmless. If I remember in the fall, I'll swing by CVS on a shopping trip and get it and the flu shot knocked out. If I forget, so be it. I don't judge others one way or the other. Apologies, in my personal experience, someone asking, "People are still getting the COVID vaccine?" typically have ulterior motives for the question.
  7. I'm a pretty big Max supporter, but this has nothing to do with him or McLaren. (Other than Max being the most frequent offender.) Jamming it into corners to get the apex at the expense of being able to keep your race car or your competitor's race car on the racetrack is some bullshit that should carry some kind of negative consequence. Keep it on track, and you can basically be as aggressive as you want.
  8. And the argument is that the rule book currently sucks if it rewards you for purposely carrying too much speed to stay on the track just to be ahead at the apex.
  9. I'm sure you ask the same about the flu vaccine.
  10. I get why they feel the need to draw that line in the sand there. BUT, you shouldn't be rewarded for driving yourself and your competitor off the track, if not purposely, then at least haphazardly. What's your suggestion? I suppose if Max had done it in a couple more turns, he eventually would have gotten tagged for reckless driving. Doesn't seem like much of a deterrent though. It's hard enough to pass in this sport...essentially letting people leave the track to defend seems like the wrong move. Well, they both left the track. But I understand your point.
  11. And if Max had kept 1/16" of his tire on the white line, I'd 100% agree with you. Keep your dive bombing within track limits, even if you're not following a "racing line", and I'm usually perfectly fine with aggressive moves. But he didn't. Once you leave the track by your own "error" (or desperate attempt to defend), it should be fair game to keep my pace right around you. Max dive bombed Lando to pass him on Turn 1 at the start of the race almost identically--except he stayed on the track. Lando complained, but Zak Brown basically told the broadcast team, "Yeah, he dive-bombed us, but he stayed on the track...what are ya gonna do?"
  12. I suppose the argument there would be that Max was defending his position when Carlos ran Max and himself off the track, and Max was defending when Max ran he and Morris off the track, so the "proper" thing to do is just reset the order to what it was before the attempted overtake. I don't agree, but I can at least see that being their logical train of thought. I just don't understand rewarding a driver who can't stay on the track to avoid being passed by a faster car. Once you leave the track--and you've forced someone out with you--they shouldn't then also force the other car to slow down and let you back in in front of them. As long as it's safe to pass off the track, tough luck.
  13. Why would t-shirt fans be Cowboys' fans?
  14. Oh shit, a McDonald's appearance AND Antonio Brown?? How are the Dems going to complete? #killshot
  15. Js1's job on Surly from now until election day:
  16. It is always a little funny to me when ~20% of those polled are like, "Who the fuck are Tim Walz and JD Vance?"
  17. Just bring your Dominion-issued USB.
  18. Seeing the replay, Max came closer to keeping his tires within the white line than I thought. But he still didn't. I just don't get it. If someone drives themselves off the track defending, forcing you off the track in the process, you have to jam on the brakes to let them recover in front of you or immediately give them their place back once you're both back on the track? What a terrible precedent. If you drive yourself off the track, other racers should be free to pass wherever it is safe to do so.
  19. Even better! Win PA, win the election. It's hard not to be optimistic. Though, a nail biting victory by the thinnest of margins isn't going to paint Trump as the loser that he is and will keep the cult from becoming disillusioned. If we could wish-cast an ass kicking into existence, that would be swell.
  20. I don't know. I don't think the election is a "lock", but I think there's decent cause for optimism. I think the Midwest and PA is pretty safely in the Harris camp. Win those, and she basically only needs one of Arizona, Georgia, Nevada, or North Carolina.
  21. Few things are more embarrassing to read than a site full of people that are so desperate to curse like big boys that they've basically invented their own unique language to quasi do so.
  22. The NBA needs expansion because Lonnie Walker couldn't make the roster of the defending NBA Champions? I don't get it.
  23. Say no more.
  24. I've never seen the potential in Tsunoda that others seem to see. Hard to imagine a scenario where he gets called up to the big team.
