  1. You don't owe a truce to damn near anyone after an entire political party has targeted your community to torment and punish to make THE tentpole culture war in America.
  2. I did not, thank you. Don't my best to never have to hear about the Clinton's again. How about before that?
  3. Mark Cuban isn't right about much, but you're delusional if you don't think the right now controls the message in what is now mainstream media. Fox News, the bro and right-wing podcast clan, Facebook, Twitter, and Sinclair-owned local news (about the only dedicated "news" that normal people still regularly watch) draw far more eyeballs/earholes than Rachel Maddow or whoever the fuck. That's why your incessant whining about the "MSM" always rings so hollow.
  4. Never loved the pick. Understood it--"Hey, let's get the guy who loves football and trucks and eats too much comfort food! That'll attract the working class"--but thought the should have gotten a gifted orator to fight back against propaganda/misinformation deluge from the right. Since we haven't seen a truly great, sharp orator on a Presidential nominee ticket since 2012.
  5. Who exactly? Honestly drawing a blank to anyone whose name people might recognize.
  6. Also, this. I hope Trump's campaign manager got a hefty raise for putting Vance into the witness protection program over the last month and the they/them ads. I have no questions whatsoever about their competence.
  7. I was referring to the kind of people that would be inserted into those bureaucratic jobs.
  8. Yes, we should compare California violent crime rates to red states. That's always fun.
  9. Sincerely asking, is there anyone currently closely positioned in Trump world--who meets all necessary MAGA purity tests--who you'd trust to change a lightbulb? Because they'd be the ones getting those jobs.
  10. No, of course I'm not denying that. But who is the biggest Democrat leader who has come out and made the Hitler comparison? Honestly asking.
  11. JD Vance is certainly a shapeshifter, but I don't think he was ever a Democrat.
  12. Feeling pretty stoked right now. Just got an email that my 4 year old daughter gets to participate in her first ever lockdown drill today! I'm so proud, they grow up so fast.
  13. I'm not a doomsayer, but do you think this term is going to closely resemble his last in terms of restraint and competent appointees (not that there was a ton last time, but enough)? If you think so, you've literally chosen to ignore all of his actual words. Finding generals who obey without question, RFKjr gets to run all health and science apparatus, deporting generations of immigrants, etc., etc. Which is fine if you don't believe he and his sycophants. We've all realized this long ago that literally nothing out of his mouth matters except for the words that his voters like.
  14. Listen, I know the popular refrain around here is "don't give oxygen to they're lies" but that's outdated, and it's why we are where we are. You calmly address their propaganda, explain why it's absolutely bullshit, then ridicule them relentlessly for it.
  15. You guys are in denial on this, I'm sorry. There's a reason every single Cruz ad focused on it to shameless degrees. The numbers show it's effective. Agree with bolded though 100%. Kamala should have taken a moderate stance while hammering home how invasive, horrific, and frankly cruel Republican ideas to "solve" the issue are.
  16. It's not, man. It comes up in conversation way more often than I would have dreamed possible 3 years ago. From dumb, offhand jokes to "Can you believe they're [insert propaganda from podcast] with kids?" From people I know who are not reliable R voters. People get really, really dumb when it comes to their kids.
  17. Gotcha. Never visiting this board prior to Nov 2020. Mea culpa.
  18. Sorry, my sentence structure was confusing. Didn't mean to imply that she should have made an entire commercial to take a moderate position on trans rights. A statement or something. She just completely ignored it for her entire campaign as far as I could tell. Her commercials were blah separate of that, focusing on Trump's revenge list or some such.
  19. If you didn't realize that Stassney was doing that as a bit in response to your lot doing the same from 2016-2019, I don't know what to tell you.
  20. I mean, honestly, everyone knew this was coming. 4 years of pretty much nothing but setting new highs in the market: "The numbers aren't real. We're setting ourselves up for a depression." Post-election bump after Trump wins: "Wow, what a market!"
  21. The unintended humor of typing this after gleefully putting Trump back into the White House. Chef's kiss.
  22. Yep. I was definitely worried about that one the second I saw it during a football game. My initial reaction was, "Shit, that's a really good commercial." And obviously a good tagline. Begrudgingly, his team knocked it out of the park with their ads down the stretch. Way less hateful and divisive than earlier efforts while still painting her in a "radical" corner, and, importantly, they didn't let him talk. I've been saying for awhile that trans issues are going to be a much bigger deal in this election than any of us wanted to let on. It sucks that years of culture wars have made 2% of the population a tentpole issue (and drawn targets on their backs), but that's where we are in America. Kamala's ads were extremely blah down the stretch. She needed to say something to the effect of: "We strongly believe that no one should make life altering decisions before they reach adulthood, but ultimately their decision lies between the individual, their parents, and their doctor, and them alone." Not sure it would have had an effect, but can't let their propaganda run unopposed.
  23. Gotta love being lectured on our sources and how far gone we are by someone who has "End Wokeness" and "Libs of TikTok" bookmarked. Chastising us about Russia while they ingest actual paid Russian propaganda. Good shit.
  24. I think the hardest part of leaving the country with small children is the thought of telling their grandparents (and they have 4 sets of them...yay divorce), "Hey, you might only get to see them once every year or two."
