  1. I’m Ok if they signed Tucker at his full value. I’m OK if they trade Tucker and get back some younger major league ready talent. I’m not OK just running the same team from last year out there and letting him walk for essentially nothing. This isn’t the 2019-2021 Astros where talent could walk because you had guys in the minors ready to step up.
  2. I don’t want the team to overspend on Bergman. However, it’s hard to put a value on the different intangibles he brings to the club. For example, Bregman turned Hunter Brown’s season around based on conversations around pitch selection, etc. If he gets $200 million from another club, it’s adios - but I don’t think he’s getting that.
  3. My first deer was a yearling spike. My dad told me to shoot that doe and when we walked up to it, it had some tiny antlers. I still have that rack in my home office.
  4. Ole Miss lost to Kentucky. Kentucky only beat 1 Power 5 team all year which is Ole Miss.
  5. Purdue’s total NIL budget for football was 400k. Unless they spend, they won’t be competitive and Walter’s didn’t have a chance to be successful there.
  6. WTF is this shit? A “golden at-bat”? This is a terrible idea.
  7. I’m starting to see this perspective. Let’s maybe cull some folks. Sid Miller and family can be the first to start drinking raw milk daily.
  8. As I read this thread, I take some measure of satisfaction that the argument is focused on which team is the 11th or 12th best team in the country (instead of the 3rd or 5th). Progress!!
  9. If you want raw milk, go buy a dairy cow. These fuckers are trying to get people killed.
  10. We’re just going to allow people to throw other players down by the facemask - OK!?!
  11. Texas 31 Kentucky 10 (and the touchdown comes in garbage time) Total Yards - 612
  12. I’m guessing he has to pay a Trump tax based on the savings. You have to kick up to the boss.
  13. I didn’t get a picture of the first broad head in his ribs. I’m using the Beast broadheads at 125 grains.
  14. That buck was amazingly tough. On Saturday morning, I actually sat in the gun blind because I wanted to get a good look at him as I was considering changing broadheads for my bow as this was the first year I have used a mechanical broadhead. At first light on Saturday, another mature buck was at this location before he showed up. He walked up the sendero, checked out a scrape and then decided he didn’t like that other buck in his territory. They fought for about 5 minutes until he ultimately won. He did all of this with my broad head in his rib cage.
  15. It’s been a long three weeks to finally getting my hands on this buck. As I mentioned in an earlier post, we started getting pictures of our 2 target bucks this year about 4 weeks ago. On 11/2, the wind was right for both my son and I to sit for both of these bucks. About 5:20, my son texted me that he arrowed his buck good. Then, my buck made an appearance 10 minutes later. I was able to put an arrow in him but I knew my shot was a little higher than I would have liked. I wanted to give my buck some time so I was able to go help my son look for his deer. We trailed blood through some thick cactus in the dark but eventually lost the blood trail. At that point, we made the call to see if we could get some canine assistance with the search. The dogs found my son’s buck in about 5 minutes. Afterwards, we went looking for my buck. We found some blood and the dogs trailed blood for over 1000 yards before losing the trail. At about 1 am, it was clear we weren’t finding that buck. After a sleepless night, we went back out and searched for another 4 hours with only a pair of axis sheds to show for the effort. I was back out at the ranch the next weekend with a group of friends and was able to check the game cameras. Fortunately, my deer was back on camera. However, my main goal this weekend was guiding a friend to his first deer. He had a successful weekend with a doe and nice buck. Fortunately, I wouldn’t have guiding responsibilities this weekend and would get back out to hunt. On Sunday morning, I was able to put another arrow in him with a much better spot. After waiting 30 minutes, I climbed down off the tripod and looked at him laying in the road 25 yards away. These 3 weeks have been a roller coaster of epic proportions. I was elated for my son and absolutely in despair worried that I mortally wounded him without finding him in the brush. Both of these deer are personal bests for us with a bow and my deer is the new ranch record at 194 inches. I’m still pulling cactus thorns from that original search 3 weeks ago. In the end, it was worth it. We have multiple years of history in watching these deer. We almost culled my sons deer as a 3 year old because he didn’t have any brow tines. We were extremely lucky that we didn’t make that call. Here’s my son’s deer: Here’s my buck:
  16. We went through all of the Night Court seasons a couple of years ago. Great show.
  17. Haha - Frank thinks the rocket scientists (otherwise known) as the House Republicans will actually find something this time. That group had to bring a consultant in to teach most of the members to tie their shoes. They can put GED Boebert in charge of this investigation.
  18. I would gladly consider the German system with an employee representative who sits on the Board. I absolutely believe most corporate boards do not properly provide oversight on senior management. In my post, I specifically stated that I have no knowledge on Google’s situation. I have been through several layoffs and it was always brutal. Buybacks are already essentially the last place to deploy capital. By providing a buyback, the company is admitting it doesn’t have anywhere else to deploy the cash profitably.
  19. I needed a good laugh tonight.
  20. I’m not certain that it should be day of election, but it should wrap up in a couple of days. I believe that one set of federal rules should apply for federal elections across the board.
