  1. After the seasons of John Wall-assisted tanking for top picks, if I could only keep 3 it would probably be the later picks Sengun (obviously), Eason, and Whitmore whose picks had nothing to do with tanking.
  2. Earlier, like by at least 1999 if not 1998 when he got here. He really thought he was bigger than the program and resented anyone who second guess him, his shitty assistants, or how tight he became in close games or against OU. I would’ve been fine with his firing at any point between 2002 and when he eventually left. It’s not like VY would’ve been mediocre with a different HC and OC.
  3. Thread title is appropriate. Nobody put a gun to their head to sign the GoR to ACC through 2036. Enjoy your next 13 years with Boston College, NC State, GT, and some basketball schools. Would bring more lolz if UNC and Miami were accepted by SEC.
  4. HAHAHAHAHA Fuck you Amy Adams SeaSkunk and double fuck you to Bud Adams and the dead raccoon who lived on his head.
  5. This game made me reflect on the 2022 draft. It looked like the Jets whipped Caserio’s ass that night, but you have to wait and see. After nearly two full seasons, it still seems like the Jets kicked his ass. Original picks in first 3 rounds: HOU - #3, #13 (from Browns/Watson), #37, #68, #75 (Browns) (4345 Jimmy Johnson points) NYJ - #4, #10 (from SEA/Adams), #35, #38 (from Carolina/Darnold), #69 (4415 Jimmy Johnson points, pretty comparable) Ended up with: HOU - #3 Stingley, #15 Kenyon Green, #37 Pitre, #44 John Metchie, #75 Christian Harris and net lost a fourth and gained a fifth round pick NYJ - #4 Sauce, #10 Garrett Wilson, #26 Jermaine Johnson, #36 Breece Hall, #101 TE Jeremy Ruckert and lost 2 fifths Oof
  6. Texans have been without a WR1 since they traded Hopkins. Cooks is a #2, Woods was a #2 but lost a step or three. Nico has had a few good games, but he’s had many more disappointing no-show games and is a #3 type. Noah Brown has had some games too and would be a respectable WR4, even pushing Nico for WR3 (especially if Nico thinks he should get paid in a year). Tank has been awesome and could be a badass #2 in the Reggie Wayne role, but we need to go get a Marvin Harrison type WR1. Schultz was great when healthy. Great value on a one year deal. If you are an Astros/analytics fan, you have to question the wisdom of handing out a multi-year contract near the top of his position pay to a TE though. I guess if the plan is go all-in during the next 4 years of Stroud’s rookie deal (5 more years if they franchise tag him rather than extend him early, which won’t happen), then you go Rams style and grab (overpay) as many playmakers at WR, TE, DL, and DB as possible. The cycle keeps repeating with most star QBs. Draft a star QB, if you have a very good team around him you can go to the Super Bowl. Once he gets into his $50m/yr contract, the talent surrounding him drops and the team is less competitive. Cowboys lost a lot of players after Dak’s extension and had a dip. Chiefs had to lose Tyreek and defense players, and they are all on Mahomes’s shoulders with a fighter’s chance. The Bills are starting to decay. Bengals and Chargers are approaching that time as their young QBs’ contracts start impacting the cap. We’ll see how the Eagles do, since they seem to have drafted well plus had extra picks from good trades. That is not an advantage for the Texans, who burned #1’s on Stingley and hurt aggy, then overpaid AZ for Anderson’s pick. They need to hit on their picks and free agent signings if they want to win playoff games, and my faith in Caserio is still low. Demeco and staff have been mostly awesome though
  7. People who realize Neil Armstrong never went to Mars?
  8. Mack Brown? I understand the theory, but can’t recall an instance where that worked but almost always goes wrong. Especially with Navy’s shit offense, I wouldn’t put money on them getting it at least once out of two attempts.
  9. So where is the line drawn? There aren’t an infinite number of colors, and there are many examples of teams having the same color combos (Jets and (old) Eagles, Patriots/Texans, Iowa/Steelers, ND St./Packers), or where they share the same logo (Georgia/Grambling/Packers, LA/CSU Rams, A&M/80s Hawaii, etc.). I assume this was a warning shot at the Texans for announcing they are changing their color scheme to “H-town Blue” next year after the Adams family’s long time refusal to give/sell the Oilers rights back to a franchise in Houston out of their cunty spite at politicians long gone.
  10. Asian seems to have generally replaced Oriental, but still seems too general to me. Orient/oriental was a linguistic terms with no negative connotation to describe Asians of the far east. The west Texas aggy prof said it correctly, I think? He was referring to someone as East Asian, more specific than including Indians or Pakistanis of the subcontinent or Turks of West Asia, but acknowledged that he did not know their specific nationality. Anyone offended by that has to want to be offended. That said, my northeastern MIL refers to all Orientals as Orientals with zero acknowledgment or concern if they are actually Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Thai, Cambodian, or Laotian.
  11. Cool, except Chance Mock and Nordgren (who were the ones talking to Simms) said after the game that one of them said something to Simms like “if it had been you that just threw that pick, they wouldn’t let you back on campus” and Simms and the other guy started laughing. But it’s a better Major suck-off story to say Simms was a bad Longhorn and laughed at Major throwing an interception (I think Applewhite threw 4 INTs in that Holiday Bowl vs UW)
  12. Can the AI generated announcers be topless, mid-20 something females?
  13. Do you have a sponsorship program for the poors? I’d like to cash in every shaggy/surly HH beer I never drank. TIA
  14. 1. Don’t be scared 2. Sugar Bowl vs Washington would be a de facto home game.
  15. I love storm trooping, but why are we the visiting team?
  16. Sports and Hollywood are stupid that in both, if someone commits a certain level of non-jailable crime, or says or does something not acceptable under current PC standards, there is an expectation that they must be fired (in addition to any criminal or civil punishment they face). In most cases though, the person can jump right back in after feigning a remorseful apology and have success with a new team/employer. Really, the entity that suffers most is the former employer that was forced to fire the dirt bag talent when society/media has little issue with them immediately resuming their employment elsewhere.
  17. Has @hookem17 let the coaches know they need to skull fuck Oklahoma State?
  18. We should have made the Big XII logo on the field a tear away, so the SEC logo could be revealed as the clock ticked down to 0:00 😂
  19. I believe most aggy shit themselves about the prospect of playing Arch in upcoming SEC games.
  20. Then the refs will have to default to “zero holding calls or late hits against OU” that they’ve lived by for 20+ years of conference play.
  21. A few weeks ago some team made a bizarre (IMO) choice to go for 2 and it made me think of whatever stupid philosophy Mack adopted for a few seasons. I couldn’t remember exactly until Mack did it last night. Down 17 to Clemson, they scored a TD. Logic says kick the xp and be down 10 because: a. you’re down two scores regardless b. a TD+xp+FG will tie it c. If other team gets a FG, 2 TDs for you would win it vs. if you fail a 2pt your 2 TDs would tie in this common scenario d. Sometimes fluky safety shit happens in college ball, so take the gimme XP now and possibly attempt the 2pt later. Nope, Mack goes for 2, and doesn’t get it, so he’s down 11 and would’ve had to go for 2 AGAIN just to tie it when he could’ve kicked two xp’s. I remember some Mack loyalists on shaggy used to defend this shit with logic of “go for 2 now; if you make it you can kick xp later for the win and if you don’t make it you can go for 2 again later to tie!” That’s stupid, if you want to be aggressive and play for the win, you can go for 2 on your next TD. If you zealously believe 2pt conversion odds are >50%, have some balls and go for 2 after every TD.
