  1. The poker game at the top will be interesting, especially if most teams needing QB are as skeptical of this crop as us amateurs. Does Indy really like one QB enough to move up from #4 at the cost of next year’s first rounder, and possibly a second rounder? If the Colts stand firm, would Chicago trade out of the top 6 with Vegas or Carolina and miss out on Carter or Anderson and maybe even the third DL and top DB? I doubt it unless it was a King’s ransom. The Bears could end up going Carter/Anderson, Houston takes their top QB, Arizona either takes the leftover of Carter/Anderson or trades with someone who wants to jump in front of Indy. Indy could end up with their top rated QB at #4 without having to give up anything. At worst they would be getting either Anderson or Carter, and I don’t think Young or Stroud are worth Carter/Anderson + second round pick + 2024 first round pick. If Caserio gives up anything more than a 5th rounder to move up to #1, he should be fired and castrated immediately. He could have kept Lovie from winning the final game by deactivating any player with a pulse. The #2 pick is on him.
  2. DE pass rusher has been a highly rated and highly paid position forever, but they say if you have an amazing DT that can get upfield and put pressure on the QB’s face it’s even more disruptive to the offense. I think about Reggie White and JJ Watt before they moved outside, Aaron Donald, John Randle, Warren Sapp, etc. I think this is why so many have Carter rated above Anderson. If Chicago trades down to fuck us on Bryce Young (especially if it is to Indy at #4), I think we should pick the best player (either Carter or Anderson) and also fuck Chicago in the process. Or trade down if another team is stupid enough to give up extra picks to get CJ Stroud (or Anderson/Carter).
  3. JSN was either hurt all year or quit on his team in 2022, depending on what you believe. Either would be justification for teams to drop him on their boards (probably not second round, but who knows). The teams have tape of him putting up stats against Big10 secondaries when he was college WR3 and defenses were focused on stopping Stroud, Wilson, and Olave. Can an NFL team expect him to dominate against NFL DBs when he is WR1?
  4. Richardson and Hooker were both very inaccurate in pass friendly college offenses (don’t quote completion percentages that get bumped by WR screens or wide open receivers. This is about over or under throwing open guys). Plus Hooker is older and blew out his knee. Richardson looked worse the more he played. Rod Smart up there is shitting on Levis but I don’t know how you can properly evaluate him. When he had a better OC and OL, he played very well and led UK to a bunch of wins. When he got a new OC and underclassmen OL in 2022, he didn’t play as well (but didn’t play bad either). Is it fair to say he sucks because he didn’t have the success of Young or Stroud when he clearly didn’t have the same supporting cast? If Bryce Young had a twin that played for UK last year, would he have put up the same stats and wins as Bama Bryce? None of this is to say Levis will be good, but day 3 draft pick? Come on.
  5. I’ve long thought they should run an ad banner across the bottom like they do in soccer, then have fewer commercials per break and/or fewer tv timeouts. That will shave 15-30 minutes off each game.
  6. Feel free to gotcha because I’m ignorant. Roughly 70% of investments were non-retirement. We made some cash off selling a home in 2021 and wanted beat inflation and hopefully make some money with the BRRRRR and TINA YOLO of 2020 & 2021. It wasn’t a strictly long term for us either, because we wanted flexibility to jump back in on good value real estate. EPICFAIL on the market timing (Q4 2021 entry). The portfolio was fairly aggressive, mostly stocks with eye on retirement 25+ years out. My investment manager calls me a pussy every time I try to go conservative when the market bounces up on a bear rally. This last round, treasury yields and money market rates are so high it was hard to argue against, but we still only moved half (about ~37% of total invested assets) to catch the 4.25+% as a hedge for further market decline in 2023. I could easily be talked into moving it all though to ride through the recession and fallout risks and jump back in in 2024.
  7. Let any surly rockets fan who would not get wasted at a Mardi Gras party, and babble about Victor being our only hope, cast the first stone.
  8. About a week ago I moved half our non-401k/IRA money into money markets and similar vehicles getting around 4.25%. Doesn’t seem like our boy Powell is dropping rates any time soon, and if he does then we will all be throwing money in and TINA’ing it up like it was 2020. Seemed like a good hedge with the other half in a tactical moderate to aggressive portfolio, but I’ve been terrible with my investment timings so may the odds be in yalls favor.
  9. Is this like Dr. Derka writing prescriptions for fried chicken?
  10. The fate of Rogue One characters was anticlimactic. The fate of Rogue One prequel characters even more so. Damn Disney saved the best writers and creators for Mandolorian and Andor though.
  11. Agreed. I see him and Fields as the same QB. Hurts was a late second round pick going to a team that just came off a Super Bowl win. In year 3 he played well, maybe at his ceiling. Running the ball is still a big part of his game, and that skill doesn’t last forever. Young is a good passer, but not built to run and be hit in the NFL. I bet he’ll win a bunch of exciting games and make some ESPN highlights. I wouldn’t bet on his week-to-week availability if I was picking him #1 (or trading multiple firsts to get him). And that assumes his passing game will translate to the NFL given his “6 foot” height. The list of sub 6 foot QBs after Brees and Wilson is short.
  12. Congratulations! It would be hard for me to leave all that money on the table just to go to Texas, assuming the other schools’ programs are ranked well. There will be no shortage of desirable coeds at any of those choices (did he forget to apply to ASU and UCLA?!). Have you had him run ROI tables yet? 😆
  13. This wasn’t created yesterday. All season long while ESPN was hyping them up, many pointed to their struggles with a weak ass schedule. Now in 2023 they will play against the other division winners (Bills, Chiefs, 49ers, Vikings along with Seahawks, Dolphins, and Patriots) and they could have a big dip in record, which will be attributed to some Super Bowl losing hangover rather than they managed to squeak by a lot of mediocre teams in 2022.
  14. Was “the real deal” Reggie McNeal unavailable? The first thing that comes to mind about Jerrod Johnson was when he played some HS all star or playoff game at DKR and he got pissed at the VY, Ricky, and Earl posters and said something “naw dawg y’all gotta take all that down!” then he sucked at QB for the rest of his life.
  15. [Amateur surly csi] Yeah, if she was so concerned about his well being that her first response to him not answering the phone would be to call and send the cops…why did she leave him? Under what scenario would you go to a dance studio, and call the police to check on your spouse at home rather than go yourself? This seems like classic establishing an alibi. Her Instagram account linked above emits vibes of a horny milf looking for a new man. Her husband appears in no pics for videos she’s posted in the past 12 months, but there’s plenty of thirst traps.
  16. With so many fillers or episodes centered on Omega Aussie whining, I’ve lost track for the motivation behind eliminating the clones. Was the Empire too financially strapped to keep buying clones or to repay their original debts to Kamino, or was it more about a new form of control by conscripting x% of youths from various planets to join the stormtroopers?
  17. Al Del Greco hadn’t made it to the NFL yet.
  18. If we lose the lottery, maybe the team with #1 will accept a screenshot of these trade simulators when we offer our pick plus ten second rounders for #1
  19. If you look like a girl in Constantinople you’ll be dismembered in Istanbul.
  20. Levis has the prototype size which is a hit and miss metric (Josh Allen had shitty stats at Wyoming), and put up good stats with his previous OC and a better OL. The combo of new coaches and underclass men OL really hurt his performance in 2022. What would he look like on Alabama or Ohio State’s offense? What would Bryce Young or CJ Stroud look like on Kentucky’s offense?
  21. He got paid and got laid while working for the Texas Longhorns football program. If that’s not L-I-V-I-N, I don’t know what is.
  22. What would be sweet as shit is if in the lead up to the draft all the buzz is on the DL talent and teams cool on this QB class. Already a lot of smoke that Chicago may keep #1 and get the best player on the board. Maybe another team wants the other top prospect and moves up…or wants their choice of QB while Houston could be indifferent or favor Levis over Young/Stroud. This team needs as much 1st-3rd round talent as it can get. If they take a QB at #2 who flops, it will set the franchise back another two or three seasons. I wouldn’t risk it with any of these QBs.
