If this is true what was the point (or benefit) of announcing we were leaving? UT and OU could have kept silent and voting as Big12 members until the GoR expired in 2025 and just ghosted everyone.
Our bats went through long dormant stretches in the ‘19 and ‘21 serieses, and key players went nearly hitless. Correa playing for a contract last year showed some pop early in the postseason but couldn’t put them up in the WS even with $300M on the line. Old George seemed to mash when the team needed some one to step up and get them hyped.
After the past 13 years, I have become ethically ambivalent about “cheating” in college sports. Nobody really polices it and it’s never going to stop. Now with NIL it is quasi-legalized. Does anyone not think of Reggie Bush as a 2004 champion and a Heisman winner, and are Trojan fans’ happy memories less meaningful to them today? Do Auburn fans (or anyone really) give a crap about Cam’s dad getting $200k or just remember they won? Winning the right way is best, but winning via cheating is probably better (at least in real time) than going 5-7 every year and no longer feeling confident or caring when your team plays Iowa State and Kansas.
Maybe that space florida hooker didn’t know he stashed his loot above the shower head?
Between the hooker and Cassian’s time in prison, Bix is going to end up with space aids. Jyn Erso should consider herself lucky.
Let Tech, UH, and UNT systems decide who they want to join between UT and Texas State systems. Let aggy be on their own island that will be ignored politically, financially, and socially and relegated to some farming branch as the founders intended.
Regardless of whether we win or lose the WS, I think the decision on whether to try to re-sign him has been made.
If Houston benched him the rest of the way or the it him in the pen, would it (and these postseason outings) cost him money on his next contract to the point he might actually take the $25M option for 2023? Do the Dodgers, Yankees, Red Sox, Padres, whoever want to pay $30-40M for a 40 yo who sucks in the playoffs?
Do not pay Verlander $30M or more next year. The point is to win championships. Throwing smoke in the regular season only to shit your pants every postseason does not warrant $30 or $40M
Tampa and Brady should work out a trade before next week’s deadline to another team that has a crappy QB but decent OL. I don’t know how the Tampa braintrust thought they’d win with this OL. They are seemingly averaging 50 ypg rushing, and Brady is getting sacked left and right.
