  1. Ignoring the unrelated Osweiler trade, you could say the Browns traded 3 first round picks plus the first 4 years of Deshaun’s career for the #25 pick in 2017 and #4 pick in 2018. That doesn’t look as bad.
  2. Yeah it was reported last night that he was going back and forth between ATL and NO to get more money and more of the years guaranteed. He probably got his best and final offer, then took it to Cleveland to beat, which they clearly did.
  3. I don’t know if anyone will ever discuss this, but Deshaun really robbed the teams based on his signing bonus. His 4 year extension with Houston included a $27M signing bonus that the Texans were on the hook for. That money was part of his contract existing 4 year deal that the new team would inherit, so they would be getting a deal. By bumping him up to $46M/yr on the new deal, he is technically making $51.5M/yr from an accounting standing. Seattle did much better by getting two #1s, a #2, and two starters (including #9 and #41 this year) and they didn’t have that much dead money. The Cleveland picks in 2023 and 2024 could be late in their rounds, the Texans only got one pick this year, and they had to eat all that $27M on their cap.
  4. Also I just became a bigger fan of the Bengals, Steelers, and Ravens for the next two years.
  5. Caserio should have required more than that before allowing them to talk to Cleveland, given the reported packages that Carolina and Atlanta offered. Still, #18, two other firsts, a 3rd and a 4th is a lot more than people thought they’d get between the time the lawsuits started and last week.
  6. I don’t know if you’re anti-Texans and trolling or what. Legally speaking, yes his no trade clause allows him to reject trades to any team he chooses. However, one cannot deny the intent of no trade clauses is to show a commitment by the team to not deal off the player after they sign a contract. This is the opposite, where a player demands to leave the team then prevents them from getting fair market value when it was the player’s doing. I am also not a fan of NBA players doing this kind of shit when their mood changes or things starting to go south and jump ship and fuck over the team, fans, and city. The Texans sat and paid him last year because they intended to trade him and it was “only” $10.5M. If Watson fucks up their trade, they won’t be trading him and they certainly won’t sit him for $35M. Nowhere in the CBA does it say a player can hold out and still get paid. In fact, the last CBA says they lose signing bonus money and the fines cannot be forgiven if/after an agreement is reached following any kind of hold out. He has too much value to cut him. They can’t pay him $35M to not play. After the lawsuits, I don’t think he wants to sit out and not get paid for the next 4 years of his prime. The Texans should (if they haven’t already) make it damn clear to Watson that if the trade doesn’t happen, his ass is suiting up on Kirby.
  7. Sure it is. If he did something to sabotage the trade (or trade value), the Texans could say “we tried to do this fairly and facilitate your inflexible trade request. It didn’t work, so you are on our team this year.” If he sits on his own accord, he doesn’t get paid and could have to repay a large chunk of the $27M signing bonus, per the CBA. This is bad for everyone, but Watson is a fuckhead so nothing would surprise me. He shouldn’t have negotiated an extension with no trade clause in bad faith, and he shouldn’t expect Houston to give him away for nothing AND eat his mega signing bonus (not to mention the $10.5M they paid him last year). Deshaun sure as hell isn’t a victim in this.
  8. And Watson allegedly playing the Falcons and Saints off each other right now to extend and increase the $ of his 4 year contract. Houston radio this morning and NFL Network people say Deshaun’s camp has been filming all this shit from their perspective, hoping a network will pay to air it as some kind of Lebron “The Decision” drama. Fuck this arrogant POS.
  9. This baggage is short term. Theoretical Super Bowls last forever. Kobe butt raped that hotel girl in Colorado in 2003 and 99% of the media and most fans treat him like deity (even before he died). What is a couple dozen handies from amateur Instagram masseuses compared to anal rape with the black mamba? If Deshaun plays well and wins, nobody will give a shit.
  10. Sad times when people are long game stalking in Texans threads.
  11. Yes, BoB and Easterby are to blame. Hopkins didn’t have to be traded, but those idiots were quick to pull the trigger when he complained about wanting to renegotiate his contract. (Aside: DHop is an amazing receiver, but the stats from 2020 have been posted many times that washed up David Johnson actually had more production for Houston than Hopkins had for the Cardinals, so the saber rattling about trading Hopkins is overblown. That said, BoB was fucking stupid for not getting a first round pick). Generally speaking, the best chance to win this century was in a star QB’s first 5 years before they took up a quarter of the salary cap. The exceptions were Brady and Rodgers, two HOFers. It seems true for Wilson, Cam, Wentz (sort of), Mahomes. The Texans were right to try to “win now” but stupid to make the Tunsil/Stills trade that added marginal value and cost them their near future. The contracts tied up in Watson, Tunsil, and a few others left little cap room to sign impact players, and with no first or second round pick for two years to add starters the writing was on the wall. Texans go 4-12 and Watson wants to bounce. I’m not holding my breath, but maybe the Texans will stumble into a franchise QB in the 2023 draft, or maybe David Mills really takes off. This is the best chicken salad they could make with BoB’s chicken shit.
  12. The irony is that Watson was a big part of what caused the Texans to fall apart (made stupid trades and contract for Tunsil to protect him, then Watson’s extension was second only to Mahomes and the Texans dumped Hopkins and others to clear salary room)…and his new team will be in a rebuild because of this trade when they lose 3 firsts and a good player or two while carrying Watson’s $40+M salary. I will enjoy a bonus top 10 pick in 2024 when Watson’s new team blows. I like the Saints enough to hope it’s Atlanta that gets Watson.
  13. All 4 teams had to negotiate basic terms with the Texans before they were given permission to speak with Watson, so that Watson wouldn’t buttfuck them and pick only one team and that team refuse to offer anything worth a shit. All the insiders for the various teams have stuck with the three first rounders plus extra picks or players. The Falcons offer is supposedly 2022 first (#8), 2023 first, 2024 first, and 2020 first rounder CB AJ Terrell or 2021 first rounder TE Kyle Pitts. That would be badass either way, even if not quite as good as the Panthers offer.
  14. The Saints package would likely be the worst of the bunch (3 firsts, maybe a second, and player like Marcus Davenport). That reported Panthers offer seemed the best, but there are rumors that ATL offered 3 firsts plus Kyle Pitts. Cleveland rumors are 3 firsts, a second, and a player like Newsome. Saints, Panthers, or Falcons are all liable to turn shitty under salary cap trouble and crank out several of the classic 4-12 type seasons Deshaun knows best. Cha ching on 2024 first round pick!
  15. Falcons (likely) can’t trade or cut Ryan until June 1, or he would be something like a $55M cap hit for the Falcons, plus they’d be paying Deshaun something like $35M. I don’t think the NFL allows the NBA style trades where there are “future considerations” or one team is actually drafting for another and a trade technically completes at a later date. I guess they could trade for Watson, then trade Ryan after June 1, but the entire NFL would know their position and instead of getting something (maybe a late round pick) for Ryan, it would become an Osweiler situation where they will have to trade future draft picks away to get rid of him. Let this be the Nth lesson against giving mediocre QBs mega extensions that will cripple you for multiple future seasons all for one last gasp at a playoff run this year.
  16. Nice trade. Pull the trigger, you dumb Patriot-way fanboys!
  17. LOL it’s like Pam Cummings doesn’t know that Goodell hates Brady more than she does.
  18. So fuck him because he plays in 2022 and we should hope he gets seriously injured? I don’t even see that level of hate for Baker or Kyler.
  19. Of course someone rounded up the lady amateur masseuses of HTown on IG, but it was most likely Buzbee chasing the money, and he may have got tipped about Deshaun’s behaviors, or it could have been as simple as one of the 22 victims made contact with Buzbee and it snowballed from there. Yeah there’s always a “har har the Texans are retarded!” comeback, but it makes little sense that the team would want to tank his trade value. Extorting him wasn’t going to change his mind to bring him back to play for Houston either. I can’t wait for this narcissist asshole handjob chaser to be gone. I do hope the Texans take a hard line with him on his no trade waiver. Rumors (and common sense since the beginning) was he would want to hand pick his destination and then minimize what that new team would have to give up to get him. Fuck all that when Watson’s extension was apparently negotiated in bad faith.
  20. I expected him to wait until Tampa made a move on another QB, then unretire to force Tampa to cut him, then go win a Super Bowl with the 49ers because it was his boyhood team, and to further spite Belichick, and to clown on Garappolo “his heir apparent.” 2022 will be better with Brady and Gronk in it.
