  1. You tell 'em I'M coming... and hell's coming with me, you hear?..
  2. Y'know what I think??? I think you're all fucked in the head! We're ten hours from the fuckin' fun park and you want to bail out. Well I'll tell you something, this is no longer a vacation...it's a quest. It's a quest for fun! I'm gonna have fun and you're gonna have fun! We're all gonna have so much fuckin' fun we'll need plastic surgery to remove our goddamn smiles! You'll be whistling Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah out of your assholes!!! HAHAHA!!! I gotta be crazy; I'm on a pilgrimage to see a moose! Praise Marty Moose! Holy shit!!!
  3. I knew it, I'm surrounded by Assholes. Keep firing, Assholes!
  4. I would like to point out that Connelly's model does tend to weight past performance more than it should which is why Okie Lite comes in with an S&P ranking of 19, despite having to replace the bulk of its offense. I actually like our chances better against SC and Okie Lite and much worse against K State (62% chance to win in Manhattan?)
  5. Postmaster General: "Kramer, I've been, uh, reading some of your material here. I gotta be honest with you: you make a pretty strong case. I mean, just imagine. An army of men in wool pants running through the neighborhood handing out pottery catalogs, door to door." Kramer: "Yeah! Ha ha." Postmaster General: "Well, it's my job. And I'm pretty damn serious about it. In addition to being a postmaster, I'm a general. And we both know, it's the job of a general to, by God, get things done. So maybe you can understand why I get a little irritated when someone calls me away from my golf." Kramer: "I'm very, very sorry." Postmaster General: "Sure, you're sorry. I think we got a stack of mail out at the desk that belongs to you. Now, you want that mail, don't you Mr. Kramer?" Kramer: "Sure do!" Postmaster General, receiving a salute from Kramer: "Now, that's better." Kramer, seeing Newman walk into the office with a bucket on his head, escorted by a security man: "Geez. Newman?" Newman, whimpering: "Tell the world my story."
  6. Franciscan Well is an excellent microbrewery.....was hard to find in the rest of Ireland outside of Cork and the South, but pretty much every place we went in Cork had several taps of Franciscan Well. The Chieftain is an excellent IPA. Ireland is undergoing a craft brewing revolution.....10 years ago, most pubs had Guinness, Smithwicks, Kilkenny, Bulmers, Carlsberg, and some American Light Beer on tap. Now you can find a bit more variety. Hell, Guinness is even rolling out some craft beers nowadays.
  7. That is about as apt a description of Galway as can be had....definitely one of, if not my most favorite Irish city and agree that it would be a great place to "drop out". Only complaint would be that the weather as a general rule is shittier in the West of Ireland because it is the first stopping point for all of the stormy weather that blows off of the North American continent along the Jet Stream. Other than that, Galway is great....glad you enjoyed Ireland.
  8. STAN: You're close, you're on the green. You just have to go for the cup. KRAMER: What do you mean? STAN: Have her try on the bra, see if it fits.
  9. I think I buy pool supplies from her.........
  10. Second Guanajuato.....beautiful city. You can actually make a nice long day trip through independence country in Guanajuato state (along Ruta 2010). Go to Guanajuato early in the morning and spend some time there. On the way back, you can roll through Dolores Hidalgo where the most famous "Grito" of Mexican independence was uttered and as I recall, the road back to San Miguel will take you by the Atotonilco Sanctuary, which is a must to visit in the San Miguel area whether you tour around Guanajuato state or not.
  11. Back in 9th grade a couple of other degenerates and I made a whole page of these complete with logos and occassional album names in 9th grade geography. Sheet is long gone, but the one I can vividly remember was "Hit and Run" with their debut album "Pedestrian Down".
  12. 2 Votes for Good Times and Tighten Up (Archie Bell and the Drells from HTown!). If we were to compile a Top 10 or 20, the songs should all be from old school soul, R&B, and funk. Ironically, i think Flea's best bass line was for a non RHCP song - Bust A Move by Young MC.
  13. I'm with Swayze on this one.....none of the bands I love(d) I would ever put in the can't stand category.....if you can't stand them now, did you ever really love them? However, I do think that almost all excellence in any field, whether in entertainment, sports, or business has a shelf life. I would say there is a 10-20 year window where someone can be at the top of their game before it gets too hard to sustain and new shit comes to light man..... Since U2 has been commonly mentioned in this thread, they stand out as a perfect example. Their run from War to Achtung Baby is as good a four album run as just about anyone. Pop was the first misstep from which they rebounded with two solid, if not relatively strong efforts. The last 3 albums have been well, meh. Good song here or there, but not a consistent level of quality that you've seen in the past. Guess that's what happens when you go from working with guys like Brian Eno to working with the Ryan Tedders of the world. But from the early 80's to early 2000's, no denying they were one of, if not the greatest band operating in the world. But that shit is hard to maintain for a long period of time and you can insert just about any great long-running artist (Stones, Springsteen, et. al.) into that spectrum and ask "when was the last great album they recorded". Chances are, it hasn't been in the last 5 or 10 years. Even if there is one, it was probably preceded or followed by a lot of "meh".
  14. Feels like an Arby's night........
  15. Long con going on here.......This may happen in 2030 at a neutral site (NRG or JerrahWorld....maybe in SA if they ever replace the Alamodome) and might recur once every 5 years unless of course some earth shattering realignment occurs and the teams are back in the same conference or division (if and when conferences for football go bye bye). I don't see it in the regular rotation otherwise. Betcha we do a home & home with ND, USC again, Florida, Georgia or some other brand name before this game happens again (thinking out to 2028 and 2029 the next time our schedule has an open spot)
  16. I'll see your Uecker and raise you this......"all we need is one pin Rodney"
  17. In closing, these stories have not been embellished, because - they need no embellishment. They are simply, horrifyingly, the story of my life as a short, stocky, slow witted bald man.
  18. Hard to add much to the commentary here and like many here, watched many episodes of this yesterday. Both the book and miniseries will be required watching for my daughters as they get to US History in High School, especially as they get to the WWII era. Their great grandfather spent over 3 years in the European theatre.....did not see his firstborn child until she was 3 years old. The book, combined with the miniseries paints an incredible picture of what WWII was like through the eyes of a group of soldiers who shared the experience and I want my daughters to gain an appreciation for what that was like.
  19. This right here. Our elementary did the same and agree that it was a good way to say goodbye. No "graduation" BS and after the ceremony, the kids walked around and say goodbye to all their teachers from K on up. Never realized there was such a thing as middle school graduation.....certainly didn't have it back in the 80's and my oldest who is an 8th grader this year isn't having one either. Skipper's response is spot on.
  20. 100% of what is wrong with America today.............. /end semi-old guy rant/
  21. I just assumed the Pixies had been around pre 1986 but just looked it up and they formed in 1986. So, that is an egregrious exemption from my list.
  22. I like this list. Nirvana is obvious. I'd put the Foo on here as well. Unlike many others, I like PJ the least of the what I consider the holy trinity of the Seattle grunge movement (Nirvana, Soundgarden (who formed in '84, so can't be included), and PJ). PJ first two albums were great, but I didn't care much for Vitalogy (Better Man is one of the worst songs of all time in my opinion) and I haven't cared much for the stuff since then outside of a song here or there. Plus, I liked Cornell's voice better than Vedder's. Couldn't come up with a band over the last 10 years.......
