  1. Filmed in Austin to boot!
  2. Complete with one Douglas C. Neidermeyer
  3. KRAMER What did you want to see me about, Mr. Leland? LELAND Kramer, I've.. been reviewing your work.. Quite frankly, it stinks. KRAMER Well, I ah.. been havin' trouble at home and uh.. I mean, ah, you know, I'll work harder, nights, weekends, whatever it takes.. LELAND No, no, I don't think that's going to, do it, uh. These reports you handed in. It's almost as if you have no business training at all.. I don't know what this is supposed to be! KRAMER Well, I'm uh, just--tryin' to get ahead.. LELAND Well, I'm sorry. There's just no way that we could keep you on. KRAMER But I don't even really work here! LELAND That's what makes this so difficult.
  4. Perhaps but there aren't many other options that would be appealing to tournament players. If they do end up at Memorial, the Houston Open probably becomes a lesser tournament. PGA was looking to cut events anyway and shorten the season...possible that the Houston Open is no longer a FedEx Cup points event. Hard to believe, but I think the best golf tournament in the entire state is now the WGC Dell Match Play event......that wasn't the case 5 years ago.

  6. Absolutely poor leadership by the HGA. Rumor has it they turned down several smaller deals (i.e. less than 10 years) in pursuit of the golden goose (i.e 10 year deal), which no one was willing to give. For Estancia (the owner of GCoH) to announce that they are not willing to host the tournament, even though the Tournament Course was built to host the event and HGA's offices are down the street, speaks to that. Either HGA already told them that the tourney wasn't coming back to the club no matter what and this was a move to save face by the club or the club saw the writing on the wall and didn't want to be on the hook for a sponsorless tournament which would probably be an expensive proposition for the club. I know a fair number of club members.....will see what I can dig up on this. Memorial Park would be a horrible place to host the tournament. The course isn't even close to being PGA playable not to mention there is no infrastructure either on course or around it (parking, etc.). It would take 2 to 3 years to build a course suitable (based on how long it took to re-purpose El Dorado CC into the Tournament Course at GCoH). In fact, Houston has surprisingly very few courses that could hold a tournament like this and I am not sure if there are any inside the city limits that could to that (despite what Sylvester Turner wants). My guess is that there will be no Houston Open in 2019 and for that Steve Timms and his cronies at the HGA should be removed in due course as a result. If the tournament resurrects at some point, keep an eye on Bluejack, Tiger's course out in Magnolia. Probably the only other course (other than GCoH) that would be suited for the PGA and that pros might want to play. Having lost the pre-Masters spot was already going to be a challenging draw, but unless you have an interesting course (and I don't think they can make Memorial Park into that), you aren't going to get the big names. Sure, Texans like Spieth would probably play out of loyalty to the state, but not sure you get the DJ's, the Rickie Fowlers, etc.
  7. What the hell kind of mad scientist mashed up Nicki Minaj and Donatella Versace 😲
  8. Guess that means it needs to be next on the list. Assume you are the proprietor (or someone close to them). What would you say is the must have for anyone trekking to the brewery.
  9. Not yet...that's over in Garden Oaks right?
  10. Besides everything else listed here on this thread, also look at Teeling - their small batch and single grain are pretty good.
  11. So I did finally make it out to Ingenious. Very unique selection of beers with a lot of unusual combinations. Not sure what their sweet spot will be just yet, though they are doing a fair number of NEIPA's. Nice taproom though a little light on the outside space so far.
  12. Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: Igor, help me with the bags. Igor: [Imitating Groucho Marx] Soitenly. You take the blonde, I'll take the one in the turban.
  13. "Jerry, just remember, it's not a lie if you believe it."
  14. Looking at cleavage is like looking at the sun. You don't stare at it. It's too risky. Ya get a sense of it and then you look away."
  15. Elaine: All right, let’s go, I’ll give you half an hour. Jerry: You’re serious? Elaine: Jerry, we have to have sex to save the friendship. Jerry: Sex to SAVE the friendship. Well if we have to, we have to.
  16. Frank Costanza: Many Christmas’ ago, I went to buy a doll for my son. I reached for the last one they had, but so did another man. As I rained blows upon, I realized there had to be another way. Kramer: What happened to the doll? Frank Costanza: It was destroyed. But out of that, a new holiday was born. A FESTIVUS FOR THE REST-OF-US.
  17. My all time favorite concert - U2 Joshua Tree at the FEC in November 1987. Senior in HS and we had 11th row floor center stage tickets (friend scored the number 2 Visa Band -remember those Austin concert goers? - at our local HEB). That was U2 during their peak and just the energy of the show was incredible - folks were singing the chorus to 40 well after the band left the stage. I have seen a lot of other great shows and artists over the years, but given that time in my life, it will always rank as the best That same night, Bono and the Edge showed up at Antone's and jammed with SRV and Jimmie Vaughn....wished I was a few years older because in college I lived within walking distance to Antone's original location and would have been there in a heartbeat to see that. Probably the most blown away by a recent show I have been to was seeing Elton John on the Goodbye Yellow Brick Road 40th anniversary tour. Not only was the set list almost exclusively from the great period of Elton music (Tumbleweed Connection through Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy Band), but Elton played for 2 1/2 hours with nary a break and rocked with more energy than many musicians I have seen that are half his age or younger.
  18. Widespread Panic - Halloween show - UNO Lakefront Arena - 1990-something. Group in the row behind us had done some pretty heavy "tailgating" pre show. Dude on the end of the row plopped down in his chair right at the start of Galactic's set and didn't move - thought he was dead or something. About midway through Panic's set, the dude is resurrected, turns around and faces his chair, drops trou, and proceeds to piss all over the chair, turns around, plops back down in the chair and doesn't move the rest of the show. Not sure how far down the Yellow River trickled, but it was funny to see the crowd part like the Red Sea as the warm yellow river trickled down the arena rows.
  19. Agreed...the three best characters in the movie were Al Czervik (Rodney), Carl Spackler (Bill Murray), and Judge Smails (Ted Knight) with best supporting actress nod to Lacey Underall (Cindy Morgan).
  20. I knew that Santino was going to have to go through all this. And Fredo -- well -- Fredo was -- well -- But I never -- I never wanted this for you. I work my whole life, I don't apologize, to take care of my family. And I refused -- to be a fool -- dancing on the string, held by all those -- bigshots. I don't apologize -- that's my life -- but I thought that -- that when it was your time -- that -- that you would be the one to hold the strings. Senator - Corleone. Governor - Corleone, or something... Barzini is dead. So is Phillip Tattaglia. Moe Greene. Stracci. Cuneo. Today I settled all family business so don't tell me that you're innocent. One of my all time favorite movies.......
  21. Forgot about Green Spot...that stuff is pretty good as well. The bordeaux version is a unique uisge beatha Despite what you may think about what appears to be "gimmicky", Sexton is actually getting some pretty good run amongst the whiskey types and although the name of Quiet Man sounds gimmicky, the whiskey itself is distilled in Derry (Northern Ireland), fairly far away from where the Quiet Man was filmed and was recommended to me by the bartender at a bar with over 50 Irish whiskeys (since I mentioned to him I was primarily a single malt scotch drinker). I think they're both legit and worth a pour so you can decide for yourself.
  22. Hadn't seen a topic for Irish Whiskey yet so thought I would start. My latest find....single malt irish whiskey......really good value for the price point ($25). Believed to be associated with the Bushmills distillery and of course a really cool bottle. Another nice find I discovered at the bar at Dromoland Castle in County Clare - really nice finish - likely from the bourbon casks it was aged in. $35 price point that I've seen in places like Spec's and Total Wine Redbreast 12 - Still one of the best Always pick up a bottle of this when I visit Dublin. The Jameson distillery reserve - 12 year aging in bourbon and sherry casks.....nice sipping whiskey and can't buy it in the States. What are y'all drinking
