  1. Remember how much of a stan horndfl was for Greg Davis? He couldn’t keep gerg’s nuts outta his mouth.
  2. Went down a rabbit hole and found this
  3. If we’re talking conspiracy theories, mine is that the trade was a requirement of the NBA approving the sale of the Mavs to the Adelsons. (I don’t really believe this)
  4. Not sure about the IRS, but she can report him to the Texas Workforce Commission. The only thing they may/can do is assess him the UI taxes he hasn’t paid and maybe interest; I don’t think there are any fines. She owes income taxes regardless. He just fucked her over by not letting her know he wasn’t withholding. This page has some good info from the irs https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/worker-classification-101-employee-or-independent-contractor
  5. I’d take a look at the specialized or the red line. The Specialized has flat bars and you may like those more than drop bars, especially if you’re just looking to tool around. The redline is a cross bike so you’ll be able to get a little bit rowdy on it if you want. Both will be able to fit wider tires than the first bike you posted, which is a good thing.
  6. Houston got out Houston’d.
  7. Muscles get stronger faster than ligaments. And since you’re new(ish) to working out, your muscles are building strength that your tendons and ligaments may not be ready for, which could increase the risk of injury. It wouldn’t be a bad idea to add some variety to your workouts. Isometrics and static holds, work your muscles in a different way and build your ligaments and tendons. Bodyweight exercises and calisthenics develop balance, body control and overall proprioception (awareness of your body in space) This will keep you in the gym while letting the rest of your body adapt and catch up to the gains your muscles are making. As middle aged men there’s a lot more facets to strength than lifting weights in the gym. Building balance, body control and proprioception allows our bodies to incorporate our strength and muscular gains into a literal armor that will protect us as we age. Good luck and keep on keeping on!
  8. And Cossack squats and one legged glute bridge
  9. You ain’t seen nothing til you’ve seen a cat at HEB.
  10. The best way to figure out what works for you is to start working out and seeing what you like and works for you. Good luck!
  11. Are they effectively tying up their resources while setting the NIL floor for other programs to beat/match?
  12. When you pull up behind someone in the left lane (4 lane road) at a red light and no left turn lane, and they wait for the light to turn green to turn on their left turn blinker.
  13. I imagine players are ok with being coached hard if they’re winning; if they’re not winning the coach is just an asshole.
  14. Beard wasn’t a surprise. He went to UT, and everyone knew he was our top target.
  15. Are you stupid or something? Or is this another surly failed attempt at humor?
  16. Fuck yeah for you! Everybody’s body is different, so find what works for you. And we’re all coming from different places when we’re passing along advice and are biased towards what works for us. For reference, I’m pushing 50 and have never been out of shape. And I’ve always favored consistency (over decades) over max effort. Consistency means avoiding injuries and dragging your ass to the gym (or whatever workout) when you don’t want to, knowing a half ass workout is infinitely better than a no ass workout. Also, as you continue your fitness journey, mix it up and try new things (kettlebells, calisthenics, steel mace, body weight exercises, rings, static holds, running, swimming, cycling etc) That helps avoid injuries and burnout and gives us differing modalities to lean on as our bodies change over the next 30 plus years. Good luck and keep it up!
  17. First of all congrats! But take a few days or a week off. The gym is for breaking your muscles down, and the off days are for building them back up. You could try rucking during your off week. Also, you’re a middle aged man, train for the next 30-40 years; not short term gains. Grinding is good, but don’t grind yourself down.
  18. Serious question, how can you comment on his take if you didn’t read it? Agree that SXSW is one of the best weeks in Austin. But sxsw music isn’t what it used to be. Yeah, I know nothing is, but the days of Vans renting out Mohawk for a week and bringing in big name bands are long gone. (Same with Red Bull House and Fader Fort) The money and sponsors just aren’t there. It’s a shame for Austin and the venues that counted on sxsw. I don’t think the blame lies solely with sxsw though. Tastes change (EDM and hip hop vs guitar oriented music) and being associated with a mass casualty event is never good. I’m glad I got to enjoy it as long as I did, and I’ll miss what it was. Best case we get a locally driven experience with more things like SX San Jose and SoCo stomp. Worst case is it’s one more thing that Austin doesn’t have anymore.

    SXSW 2025

One of the obvious things to me was the lack of sponsors. In years past there were a ton of sponsors (car, beer, clothing, energy drink, media etc) on the sxsw signage at the venues. This year there were three: Rivian, JBL and the Austin Chronicle.
  20. It’s the internet, we got all the time in the world for a long story. But not knowing the story, it was probably a good call. There’s a reason the p bass is the most popular and most recorded bass by far, lack of finickiness being a big one.

Thanks for this one. They’ve got a shot ton of shows the next couple of days. I’ll check them out.
