  1. CJ on Makuba A source tells me the initial diagnosis on DB Andrew Mukuba indicates just a sprain. We will hear from HC Steve Sarkisian on Monday, but this is great news for Texas and the DB room after losing DB Derek Williams for the year last week.
  2. CJ: Matthew Golden had himself a very solid scrimmage. Sounds like he found the end zone on a jump ball situation, but was also someone Sarkisian tried to get involved early and often throughout the live period. After a quiet first scrimmage, he was a standout today.
  3. Bobby with some good RB news: I am told that Texas has been very happy with the work of Jerrick Gibson at running back. Very happy. He has stepped up and is being more and more reliable in each practice and is working to understand pass protection at the college level more and more. At this stage, we expect Gibson to have a role on this team out of the gate. Now don’t get carried away. I’m not talking about starting or being the premier back. But his work as a strong, smart inside runner has been on display. For a team that needed someone to step up following the injury to Cedric Baxter, Gibson has answered the call to this point.
  4. From Bobby: Will have more tomorrow. - Practice was under the lights inside DKR. - They pumped some music in and got the place loud. - Not full pads. Helmets and shoulder pads only. - A couple of turnovers, one pick thrown by Trey Owens in the flat and one by Arch Manning over the middle. - Silas Bolden and Ryan Wingo continue to receive rave reviews. A twisting catch by Wingo down the sideline was one of the night’s highlights. - Colin Simmons looked particularly good in some one on one pas rush work against Cam Williams. - Quinn Ewers and Manning both looked good overall. - I should have more for folks in the morning.
  5. Games started at previous school, accolades (all conference, honorable mention, etc)
  6. Gerry on WR visiting tomorrow: OnTexasFootball has learned that Sunshine State 4-star wide receiver and Oregon commitment Dallas Wilson (Tampa, Fla./Tech) is scheduled to make an unofficial visit to Texas June 5 per a source close to the recruitment in Tampa. Wilson, 6-2.75 and 185 pounds with 10 inch hands, was offered by the Longhorns in September of 2023. Special teams coach and area recruiter Jeff Banksmade the offer to Wilson. Since that time Banks and Chris Jackson have been on contact with the wide receiver with tremendous balance and body control. Banks made a stop at Tampa Tech High in May to watch Wilson practice, spending nearly three hours at the school. At that time, Wilson told OnTexasFootball he was looking at a possible visit to Texas but wasn't sure how dates would work out. The visit Wednesday is a relationship building unofficial visit with an official visit a possibility. Wilson is scheduled to make official visits to Miami June 7-9, Florida June 14-16 and Oregon June 21-23 this month, and possibly Florida State in November for the Seminoles-Gators rivalry game. While Wilson remains committed to Oregon, the continued thought from May in the Sunshine State is that the Ducks could face a tall task to keep him in the fold. Wilson hauled in 49 passes for 872 yards and nine TD's in 2023. He caught 40 passes for 875 yards and 12 scores as a sophomore.
  7. When Jabbar makes a big play his celebration move is to draw a square and then do the thumbs down
  8. Wasn’t their speculation on Luther Burden last year?
  9. Ari and David Ubben talked about this last night. Based on their experience in Mock cfp committee, they do group in sets of 3, however at the end there is an opportunity to make changes and iron out things that look off.
