  1. I had this happen on a KitchenAid DW that at the time was a CR best pick. It was in actuality a POS. You can pull the owners manual online and figure out how to run a diagnostic cycle. At the end, your display will give you one to several codes as to what's wrong. I my case, it provided many codes each diagnostic cycle, and different codes each cycle. I replaced a few components one at a time to knock the code list down, almost all digital/electrical elements, along with the vent fan, and the dish soap dispenser. Then I realized that the codes all together translated to...don't waste time and money.. get a new DW. Opted for a more pricey DW that's nicer than I would normally get as it seems all mid level appliances are shit now. (redid kitchen in 2017...all new appliances plus new W/D... Every appliance was from CR best list... Every appliance needed work within a year). Got a Mele... Happy with it. The dishes actually come out clean. All glasses that hadn't been through the DW looked hazy. Didn't realize they were hazy until we actually saw a clean glass next to it.
  2. I will miss the Big 12. I will miss the Big 8 teams. BYU will be the team to beat in the Big 12. Thanks to all those non-Longhorns who have been in this chat for YEARS and taken illogical Longhorn hubris and assholery. Here's hoping we do better in the SEC/NFL B League than we did in the Big 12... 3 out of 27!!! Maybe James Brown can be QB1 for the 2024 season. Since we're too fucking smug collectively, I certainly won't start the chant... But I'm damn excited/scared for the SEC!!!!
  3. I don't disagree with anything you said, but you either missed my point or I didn't make it well. I'm saying casual viewers/people not looking for a specific game will stay on YTTV as you described, or whatever their primary viewing platform is, instead of popping over to Amazon Prime, or Peacock, or Apple, or ESPN+ to see what games might be on (unless they are seeking out their team or an amazing matchup they know is on that platform). I'm staying on YTTV with a dozen channels with CFB which is much easier than launching each app with a half dozen clicks at least to see what games are on. I know my CFB team and conference will have the most interesting games on networks available on YTTV. I'm not heading to E+ for a Iowa State or Oklahoma match up...as it's likely not the best of match ups or it'd be on E, E2, EN, ABC, Fox, FS1, FS2, etc. Although we are making the same point, bolverk just pointed out the opposite in his viewing habits/preference. I guess those that don't have a cable replacement/old school cable/satellite who are already bouncing around streaming apps, it's not that big a deal. Just keep all those tabs open! (2/3rds of Americans still have traditional cable/satellite...which does not include those of us that replaced that with a streaming cable replacement service like YTTV/Hulu/Fubo/etc). I check this website ...https://www.livesportsontv.com/ to see what's on and I tend to ignore a decent game that is streamed on an app (on my TV) over a lesser game that is on a YTTV channel. Right now I see a game I'd like to watch on Paramount+, and another, lesser game between smaller teams at the same time on a cable channel. I'm going with the cable channel as the viewing experience is better, I can DVR it/rewind or pause as I'm watching, they have a pregame/post game show, and the game on cable won't start 3 minutes after the game starts (which is not uncommon with streaming games). This plays out every Sat in the fall as well. Unless I'm invested in a specific game somehow, I'm not heading to a streaming service over YTTV...yet. I'm sure the UIs will get there eventually.
  4. There is truth here. Other than CFB, I watch only one sport/league where I will tune in to most any game that's on. All games (no blackouts) are aired on one cable channel, a broadcast channel, and a streaming app. We will routinely watch a slightly less interesting match up that is on YTTV (better interface/controls/DVR/lead in, etc) than switch over to the app and have to hunt around to find the game, often starting late, or missing pregame, etc. And there can be a better game on from another league on ESPN+. We watch the lesser game on cable/broadcast. This has more to do with interface than which service has the rights, but I can't imagine any casual fan turning off an SEC/B1G/ND match up on TV to go hunting around in Amazon Prime to find a game. We've become more of a fan of this league as a whole beyond our favorite team because it's all available and easy to find. There's a lot of rhetoric that B1G did it right emulating the NFL in spreading out their rights. I think the SEC did better by moving everything to one family across multiple verticals. I won't be checking NBC/Fox/CBS/B1G every window... I'll likely just leave it on a Mouse channel and stay there. Slive/Sankey play/ed chess. Warren played catch up. There is a wide gulf in viewing habits between rabid fans that will seek out their team and the casual fan that might tune in if then conditions are right. The latter is where the money is as the rabid fans tend to be a consistent number/range coinciding with how well the team is doing. The more splintered CFB viewing becomes, the more lazy loyalty to the channel you are already on comes into play. Amazon NFL is a bit apples to oranges as that is an exclusive window that CFB won't have. Amazon PAC won't have that. If Amazon creates a PAC hub where you can easily see all games in a day and the league gets a premiere match up or two on a broadcast channel (but who?), That may be a good move for them.
  5. Man I'm torn. Lifelong soccer player and huge fan. That side of me is fine with the way it is. I roll my eyes at the ways the players stall and play head games, but it's part of the game. Add keepers falling to the ground in the last five minutes to the list. But I've spent the adult years with kids playing rugby. The culture in rugby is the ref is the fucking law. Not to be talked back to or messed with in any way. If kids don't refer to them as sir or ma'am, the coach will pull you. The ref will cancel a match if the coaches chirp at them. It's really impressive and permeates the whole sport in a very cool way. An extremely violent sport has a total air of respect and love of the sport. They also have an additional tool...the sin bin. Similar to hockey penalty for a power play. Americans seem to have more respect for soccer refs that the Latin countries/EU. I think some of these should be automatic. Touch the ref...auto yellow. Impede the refs path...auto yellow. Any player other than captain or the one whistled complaining to the ref...auto yellow. Basically the rules with respect to the ref. Most of the rest, within the game play are too subjective. Diving and stalling is just too hard to quantify. You know it when you see it. Every 30 seconds cleats scrape a foot or shin that is only seen by slow mo replay because the pros are so good at disguising it/doing it out of ref view. Former players know that every single one of those are on purpose. The only way to police it is more VAR and more of the play eligible for VAR. I don't want that at all. Slows down the perpetually moving beautiful game. Maybe more after the fact review and cards could help, but that a huge leap for the game. I realize at the highest levels almost everyone prefers the ref to be a non factor and to keep the game flowing...never have the ref be the story line. And I agree. But I'm for some rules with auto response, so it's less subjective and less drama filled, with respect to the ref.
  6. Bring on BYU. They are one of the 14 schools we have a losing recond against (that we can still play). And 1 of the 7 on that list we've played more than once. We need our Mormon mojo back! We got K-State off the list recently along with WVU (.500)... So we need more Mountaineer to get that stat to a winning record. 2 of the other schools are in the SEC, so we can correct that soon. Our OOC should be those teams until we fix the ledger! Schedule em until we beat em. Hook 'em!
  7. I use an NVIDIA Shield as my main and Chromecasts on all other TVs. Also have an Xbox, but decided to Chromecast that TV. It's just another streaming box option like an Apple TV, or XBox, Fire stick, Roku, or whatever. They all get you what you want, the biggest differences are remotes, user interface in apps, and customizability. Shield is great. But if you don't plan on doing anything beyond watching TV/streaming apps, you don't need the extra capacity or price. There's marginal plusses to being all in the same universe. I can use my phones or tablets to control all the Android devices. Rage...Mi do anything the Shield doesn't? Mine is 4 years old and no issues yet.
  8. Anyone have good/bad experience with a health share plan? I'm looking to sign the family up for one, but not finding any decent spots that compare or offer reviews. Any suggestions? I'm happy to be in a faith based share, but not required.
  9. Does it work properly if you use the car Bluetooth connection without using Android Auto or same issue?
  10. We have to win! How can we lose to the sick fucks that invented farting in bed and then pulling the covers over your head!?!?! USA!
  11. After 475 pages, I dont think it's appropriate for you to try and change the nature and direction of this thread! "Make sense?!" Come on man!
  12. PSA: This is on LHN and ESPN+! I've never noticed any LHN content simulstreamed on ESPN+ before. Have I missed it? Is it because it's the tourney?
  13. Happens to me occasionally right when I turn it on, but seems to correct itself quickly. A few times it won't fix and I restart the device... Seems to work. But to be fair, most of my viewing on YTTV is sports and unless the announcers are on air for a hot second, I don't actually know if the sync is perfect or not.
  14. Man I didn't know that was controversial... I always assumed John in the main count in and Paul on the background count in. Now I don't know!
  15. Not sure how new the feature is, but YTTV fixed my biggest complaint. They now list in the guide description on all sports when it first aired so you know what's live and what's a replay/taped delay. I assumed they'd never fix that in hopes we'd all watch sports a lot more after the fact.
  16. It's sounds great on Spotify. I imagine even better on vinyl.
  17. PSA T-Mo people. One week left to claim a free year of Paramount+.
  18. Anyone have FiOS for data only...not for TV or phone? The info online is contradictory...I am trying to figure out if I can use my current Google mesh wifi router as the only router of if I need to use the Verizon provided router (they don't provide a modem apparently) as a bridge to the mesh router? Much of the online confusion is how this set up affect TV...I don't need that...just using it for data/streaming.
  19. Sling is back too (owned by Dish). I was curious if the scheduled DVR shows from over the weekend would now be available. They are not.
  20. Sling people: if you start to cancel your subscription, they will offer the $5 credit for your account to due the carriage dispute with the mouse. They also said that you get sling blue for free while the dispute continues. If you're planning to stay this morning, go get your five bucks.
  21. Paramount+ PSA... For Sprint and T-Mo folks, you have one month left to redeem 1 free year of Paramount+ Essential. Just in time for ECL. Try a different browser if it hangs up.
  22. *Checks notes for date I need to cancel Sling... Carriage disputes happen all the time, but this is unfortunate timing for those of us that just recently signed up for UTSA. Sports Plus on Sling Blue looks super sad now since it's basically focused on ESPN channels. I may have jinxed it... I set the Sling DVR to record Lowell before and after the game tonight. #hatertriggerwarning P.S. I noted above the slider was janky... Just wanted to update that it was much better on a tablet on a football game fully recorded. Much easier to skip commercials on the tablet verses the TV/Shield app.
  23. That's what Baylor did, sort of. And that rendering looks a lot more like an EPL ground as much as a football stadium
