  1. Wat. I've never seen a bigger bunch of sissies than the modern Republican party.
  2. I think the second two very much have a part
  3. Lie down with dogs, wake up with fleas
  4. Here's the thing though, none of that remotely mattered to me when I was that age, or practically anyone I knew. Our self worth was defined in so many other different ways. Hell, as an 18 year old 90% of my thought was how do I get laid and how much booze can I drink. 9% was playing guitar and 1% was making sure I had enough money to support the previous goals. The way young guys are wholly unable to relate to women now is just baffling to me. I talk to younger women all the time, they haven't really changed much. The guys have. The whole incel phenomenon is real and I still can't comprehend it.
  5. I'm not saying they aren't going to try, but it's not some easy cut and dried thing.
  6. No, it's more than that. There is something deeply wrong. They are falling behind in attainment compared to women, rates of depression are through the roof, general failure to launch. It's an issue that's been lurking for quite some time.
  7. I've never been shit on by woke leftists.
  8. I believe this is the case, but I will never not think it's absolute insanity. It's just incomprehensible. But it's definitely true, and the lack of critical thinking is why so many people just absolutely tread water in life.
  9. Well, we all said it was a conversation to have. I think the time is here.
  10. First of all, the states have the most control over elections. And term limits are a constitutional amendment.
  11. If I had a genie that gave me one policy wish, it would be single payer healthcare, no questions asked.
  12. Oh the middle class gave a shit, and was vehemently against the working class succeeding. I don't disagree obviously, but as to the first sentence, I mean, after 40 years of no gains at all, seeing some light at the end of the tunnel has to be better than the darkness that Turnip is offering. Just go look how the votes breakdown by income.
  13. Joe Biden is literally the only president of my lifetime to see the working class gain.
  14. The Democrats are literally the only ones looking out for the common people, but whatever
  15. I agree with this but find it extremely sad, and always have, going back to the days that I voted mostly Republican. Probably my biggest regret is I always thought of the religious nuts as useful idiots in the R coalition.
  16. For me perosanlly, I just can't and probably never will, understand what they want. It's so detached from every value we were raised with and taught to believe.
  17. That's who he is and why he votes for Trump.
  18. You have described me exactly. The thing is, I still have a wife and son, a mother, loved ones. I'm not gonna roll over, I will keep fighting for them.
  19. Something I have thought for a long time, which seems to only have accelerated, is that a huge part of the American electorate wants an impossible outcome. Which in and of itself is not so surprising as it's somewhat human nature, but this in particular is a weird sort of ennui and meaninglessness that has been brewing since the 90s. We are the most cosseted and comfortable people ever to grace planet earth, and it isn't enough. By any metric, everyone from the poorest to the richest in this country has a better standard of life than they did 30 years ago, and it's not even close (people living in a cardboard bow maybe excluded). And yet we are as divided and angry as at any point since the 19th century. There is a just a purposelessness for a great swath of society that I don't see any cure for.
  20. While I agree with the first point wholeheartedly, the second is incorrect, at least partially. They weren't tricked.
