  1. I actually agree with you here
  2. I mean you call them whatever you want, I'm not the lord and ruler of your language or amything, but this stuff is pretty well established. I'm just giving you the overview of class division, which isn't the same as income division. There's a reason it's a running joke that every American thinks they are middle class.
  3. 0%. Its not what "I think", it's what it is. Middle income =/= middle class. I know there is always the classic joke every American thinks they are middle class, but that isn't the case. Theres arguments to be had around the edges, similar to the generational years (nobody reading this start tlying about if Kamala is GenX goddammit), but by and large there are very clear distinctions. Class in the US is unambiguously an offshoot and close cousin of the Anglo conception of class. The only real difference is that Americans have always allowed for class mobility, whereas that was much more difficult in the UK. Class is the confluence of culture and money, exclusive of neither. White collar jobs are middle class jobs by definition. Accountancy, small retail store owners, engineers, middle management, basically the working professionals. Everything from taste in media, food, diction and so forth outline this. The working class obviously has their own taste, culture etc. These are people with name patches on their shirts. Also coincidentally who I spend most of my days with. But they are not middle class I can promise you. Their conception of basically everything is diametrically opposed to the middle class. The upper class is almost non existent in this country at this point. There are small vestiges left with certain people, but it's basically inconsequential. Almost every rich person you meet is dreadfully middle class. So if you want to use class and income interchangeably that's fine but it's not accurate and there ends up being a lot of talking over each other. Theres a lot more that can be said about class, and I have actually studied this more than I'd like to admit, but it would just be a massive and unproductive diversion. I would also say anyone making 160k who bitches can lick my nuts, but that is a whole different conversation All true
  4. I mean, I will admit i don't see every one of your posts, but from what I have seen you are consistently describing working class people and pretty much never middle class people.
  5. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I'm openly antagnostic to the middle class, have been for a long time. They have enabled the rise of people like Elon Musk while keeping poor Americans poorer. Interestingly enough when you use descriptives of who you are thinking of in terms of these voting blocks, you never describe middle class people.
  6. Yes, that is 100% what I'm saying. Again, I'm happy for the Democrats to lie to them for votes. Because better working class policies will result. But I'm not pretend Chad and Tynnyfer Middle Class' fee fees remotely reflect reality because they don't.
  7. This is simply the wage growth side of things. Add in that most middle class people absolutely are in equities, it's not even close. Hell, even a lot of working class are in equities with 401ks these days.
  8. Fixed income maybe, the middle class no way.
  9. I also find this sentiment insane. 2018 and more so 2019 were terrible years, 2022 and 2023 were miles better.
  10. Well, they aren't wrong is the thing. Again though, I'll reiterate, I'm not a Dem politician trying to win votes, and if the Dem's have to blow smoke up their asses to get votes I'm all for it. The uncomfortable truth that no one wants to admit is we are rapidly approaching the point where there are no more quality of life increases for the middle class. At this point we are down to nibbling at the edges in western society. The US needs universal healthcare and childcare, we are obviously the major outlier there. Other than that, UBI is necessary going forward. Continual incremental improvement in health outcomes and efficiency gains which are in the nice to have category. It's in out best interests to help raise the global living standard as it defuses a lot of conflict. But that's about it. And we are seeing the ennui and lashing out that comes from this with people with no internal sense of purpose. I mean, I've said for years that Liz Warren's entire being is defined by a deep psychosis over what happened to her father. It's so transparent. Ironically Steve Bannon is exactly the same. Sorry your dad was a dupe Steve.
  11. I mean, I told everyone who was touting the whole not many Trump yard signs thing that in my neck of the woods it was twice as intense. Accurate
  12. If the recent Rory Gallagher auction is any indication, this shit is gonna go for face melting money
  13. Got damn right
  14. 20241116_082627.mp4 I thought you classic car dudes would appreciate this. My old man's '67 427. We had really high tides this week so he asked to put it in my garage, since it's higher elevation than his.
  15. I agree with the first part, meh on the second
  16. Well, I am pretty verklempt these days
  17. So I haven't seriously followed boxing in quite some time, for lots of obvious reasons, but my gut instinct is there is no way this match isn't somewhat scripted.
  18. I'm not sure I would say I'm elated, but my anxiety basically went poof last Wednesday. I am cackling at every possible Trump nominee though.
  19. Generic far left dipshit is all I know
  20. I don't even know where to put this, but this is fucking awesome. https://www.cnbc.com/2024/11/14/the-onion-wins-alex-jones-infowars-in-bankruptcy-auction.html
  21. Except the other country has to agree. FWIW, I guess it's depends on your definition of difficult, but it's fairly straightforward to have a bank account overseas. Just time consuming.
  22. It an onerous process for them to do that, they have to show criminal connection to the money.
