  1. Sounds about right. I looked at getting a Valhalla before I got my 707 but I really couldn't bring myself to get such a single purpose car. Looks like they got old George at the unveiling. And Daniel Craig has aged like 40 years in the past 2.
  2. I require ease of access to the Alps and blessed neutral Switzerland.
  3. Yeah, this is my life here in Virginia Beach to be honest. But I know why I'm doing it, so it's certainly manageable. If I had my druthers though I'd be living in Northern Italy.
  4. Crazy BOC hung onto to red one more day, incredibly tight. Super gutted for Wout, dude has had the worst luck this year. He looked really bad there too
  5. Well, most people from Buena Vista can't pronounce Buena Vista.
  6. Dammit, new Vanquish just came out. Hot as donut grease
  7. Yeah, the unsaid part of that is I first heard that joke in high school, and, well, it's been a long time since I've been in high school
  8. That reminds me of the new Alabama license plate motto, 'At Least We're Better than Mississippi '
  9. Oh my god, that's awful to hear. RIP you loquacious man. Truly shocked to hear this.
  10. So I've seen about three new Land Cruisers now, and I saw a First Edition in the Trail Dust color, which I guess is the new tan. May have put me over the edge, these are the best looking Toyotas in decades
  11. Theil is a dangerous motherfucker in many ways, but the one saving grace is that he has basically a negative social IQ. He was also responsible for that Blake Masters freak who is widely regarded as maybe the worst candidate of all time.
  12. Yeah, numbers 3 and 4 were pretty much my only criteria when I was looking. 6 obviously had a bearing though. Number 1 is important, but kind of what I am getting at is any legitimate accredited school is going to be fine without extenuating circumstances. In our work on the board here, we go through a lot of depth of detail of all facets of higher learning, where it's at, where it's going, etc... We are a private school, so much more focus in peer institutions, but realy across the board, academic wise you can succeed anywhere. The biggest differentiation between schools is usually administrative, finances and such. Which certainly matter, but you have to look at different metrics to really get a feel for that. I also believe undergrad college should have next to nothing to do with one's career, but that's a whole nother conversation
  13. Also, unless there is some specific career path that would be assisted by it, choosing a school mainly on inane and esoteric academic rankings is silly. All of the major schools are about the same. The differences lie in specializations and specific professors. Smart way to do it for sure.
  14. One thing I did was avail myself to the great city college system California has, you can transfer damn near any 100 or 200 level work to the University. Saves a lot of cash.
  15. I can vouch for UCSB. San Luis Obispo would be my number 2
  16. OK, yeah I understand more now what you mean. Agree that outcome is obviously the goal. My take is usually more that people don't understand the function of the executive.
  17. I would characterize voting for president exactly the opposite of this. I frankly consider people who vote for president on domestic policy the dumbest of the dumb.
  18. That's a legitimate position, but it doesn't obviate comsumer spending is in fact rising, if constrained. Walmart is serving the same segments as Dollar General, they are just doing it well. DG is a case study in stupidity with their strategy the last 10 years.
  19. https://corporate.walmart.com/news/2024/08/15/walmart-releases-q2-fy25-earnings Don't look shitty companies if you want to go that route
  20. It's a miracle he missed the pylons on that guardrail.
  21. Of course. Not sure that has much to do with school though. People gravitate to who they gravitate to.
