Thanks dude.
One of the things about drums is not just having to change them from song to song, but within songs. I was always pretty happy with the verse drums, but the chorus was a struggle to fit all the low mid energy in, the kick really overwhelmed it. Eventually got it somewhat shoehorned together!
Full disclosure for @Goredho too, I do own EZ Drummer lol. But I only use it for demoing stuff. I'm definitely fortunate in that I have a pretty capable drummer I've been together with since high school. It can be a challenge for us older dudes with family and work commitments.
Speaking of drums, this actually reminds me we published a new song last week, I forgot to share with the group. I had a few of the boys give it a listen for notes about a month ago. I mightily struggled with getting the drums how I wanted.
Feel free to skip the intro, I am perpetually not happy with it.
My uncle had an 8 track in his Ranchero, so I got plenty of time on those as a yute. My Grandma also had one of those console monstrosities with TV, record player and an 8 track, though the 8 track didn't get much use there.
Ok, I'm going to back up. What I'm saying is that it's surprising a guy like that chose the title CEO. He easily have could have chosen to be Executive Director of his non profit, which is the typical title anyway, he doesn't look like a dude that would identify with the CEO label.
So in my experience, it is really dependent on several factors. I've had many friends/acquaintances among the SEALs, most people know I'm from Virginia Beach, and know what is based here, and I can tell you it's runs the gamut from totally unassuming family guys to outright psychopaths.
I've also seen some guys who were truly gentle souls be broken by the work.
