  1. I don't know anything about baseball - almost literally - but it was evident to me that Gordon was about to give it up well before we pulled him. They started getting contact on every ball he threw starting in the 3rd (if you'd like to debate that, talk to the stewardess serving me gin and refer to the part about me not knowing shit about baseball before you reply)
  2. hell of a time for our first comeback of the year. woman next to me on the plane did not know wtf was wrong with me. tbf - i don't either.
  3. Dude in the blue cap kills me every time. Texas Fan.mp4
  4. It's highly subjective. I find almost nothing appealing about LA.
  5. I would kill to get out of LA. I'd kill two if it meant I could get back to Austin. I have an actual f'n socialist leading my district's city council race. Ridiculous.
  6. The difference between the thought system that maninblack and you are espousing and what you call the "company line" is that for you, having an underlying condition (or being one of the 10% that you just write off completely) is a justified death sentence rather than the avoidable problem that it is. If everyone who thought you like had simply put on a mask and socially distanced - or better still, be open to the idea of contact tracing (oh nose my privacy!) - we would already be out of this nonsense. Selfish people who only care about themselves (people who don't care about the 90% with underlying conditions and the 10% who don't) are the reason this sucks so much. I hate Pelosi too - but I'm not a selfish idiot dead set on destroying our country for some ridiculous sense of personal freedom that equates to a refusal to protect your neighbors, loved ones, and fellow Americans. /
  7. I can't imagine our staff putting a player in position to make 19 tackles.
  8. From fire ravaged, smoke filled, earthquake shaken, Los Angeles, TEXAS!
  9. Additionally roughly 400,000 of 35,000,000 influenza cases resulted in hospitalization in 2019 - 1.5%. It's closer to 20% for Covid-19
  10. No. It's not estimated to be similar to the flu. The flu has a mortality rate well below .01%. https://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/burden/2018-2019.html This is expected to have mortality rates of .06%-1% in the U.S (2% on average worldwide, 3.4% peak). That is a range of 6-10x deadlier than the flu and far more contagious.
  11. Shelves were empty last night at my local grocery. The line was 35 minutes. If I didn't have it before i went in there, I probably came out with it.
  12. i just don't read it that way. Yes, Rick was done here. True, he's not coming back. Knowing both of those things he's still a coach that was able to go from one school to another and compete at a higher level than our current coach. That he was here should help us collectively understand where the bar should be and how short of it we currently are. I read Derka's Rick posts with an eye on Texas, not on Rick. If he's a Rick apologist I missed it.
  13. I don't mind the comparative basis since it is germane to our coaching situation.
  14. Good. I know nothing about him. Glad to hear.
  15. That got my attention too. QB is RS Senior with 3 years starting experience. Our young secondary will take some lumps in this game if our DL give this guy time. BTW - I like the idea of us making mistakes in this game provided we win. I want LSU to be as over confident as possible because I know we're going to show up for that one.
  16. i must have glanced over their inclusion like one of those psychology illusions where "red" is written in blue ink. I stand corrected.
  17. Easily the least deserving of that ranking of the Top 10
  18. lol. Fair enough. I thought Ivan's problem, and Ike's, was that they felt they should be stars and were disgruntled. I don't think DY is RB1 but my expectation would be that if we HAD to play him there he could churn out 3-4 yd per carry behind this OL (and most importantly earn some of the tough yards). That would be enough given our other weapons except against our best competition.
  19. Wasn't that basically the same OL but with Warehime?
  20. agreed. if he can do some lead blocking and keep the D honest with his receiving he can add value.
  21. Rewatch the Mizzou bowl game. DY ran for plenty more than what was blocked, and don't forget not much was getting blocked by that OL. He just need to hold on to the ball.
