  1. Yeah, have had family annual passes for DL since Sept, been maybe a dozen times and no complaints other than shitty food and the trams not operating (good news is they're finally bringing them back Feb. 23). Someone said the Rise of the Resistance looks like shit at DW, not so at DL. Frankly, looks amazing and the ride itself is unmatched. It does tend to go down daily, but I imagine that's because it's so complex. They normally get it working again in 30 minutes. That said, I don't plan on renewing. It's expensive and my goal is to go so much that the kids get burnt on it.
  2. That dude was struggling! Stumbling and bouncing off rocks in the water, looking like Tyson just double jabbed him. I would have gladly watched that whole water sequence with him. I didn't think he would make it up the hill at the end of the challenge.
  3. Quick question, admin is booking room for conference in May. Which is better to stay at these days, Wynn or Encore?
  4. 30 years of Hall of Fame play. Spoiled ass fans
  5. Don't forget Raising Arizona and Sea of Love
  6. Try being a Bears fan for four decades
  7. There wasn't near enough time to run and get off another play. It was fucking dumb
  8. Daughter's grade school, 1 mile away, needs to be there by 7:45 Son's high school, ten miles away, needs to be there by 8:30 (route is on the way to wife's work). This morning, wife announces that she can take both of the kids to school. She will drop off daughter and come back for son (so he doesn't have to leave so early). Awesome, as I have an 8 am call. She leaves at 7:30 with daughter. As I am engaged in deep discussion with boss, my son starts bugging me. It's 8:15 and wife is nowhere to be seen and not answering his calls. I beg off the call and get ready to take son to school. She finally answers and insists on coming back to take him. He is summarily marked down as tardy and not happy. Within one hour she forgot she was going to take son to school, and was headed straight to work. Of course, her first reaction was to blame me.
  9. I haven't driven a stick for twenty years but pretty sure it would come right back, but the driving on the opposite side of the road while driving stick would probably eff me up.
  10. Saw it yesterday with wife and kids. It's like if in Rocky 1 they stopped after the first round and did a narrative that explained Rocky ended up lasting the entire 15, something no one had ever accomplished with Apollo Creed. Or in Miracle they had spent 20 of the last 25 minutes on the Sweden game and the inspiring tying goal with 30 seconds left. and show stills of subsequent games and narrated that the Americans did end up beating the Soviets and won the Gold Medal. Just kidding, upon initial watch was just a tad disappointed they didn't spend more time on the NFL and especially that first Super Bowl. But upon reflection I get why they played it the way they did, focusing on his first NFL start. It worked. Everyone in the family enjoyed it. If you're turned off by religion, it's not at all in your face. It's a well-presented typical Hollywood underdog story, and the fact that it's actually true makes it amazing.

    BOOM (Madden)

The unnatural body shape, the mop of hair parted down the side, best of all the short sleeved shirts with a tie. Legend

    BOOM (Madden)

Look at this fucking guy (I mean Stabler). Not a defined muscle on his body and probably hungover. Damn, I miss NFL football! Madden was the king.
  13. I've been lucky. Never did find my calling or thing to be passionate about. Was frankly a stumblebum with my career, the only strategic thing I did was determine to get a MBA at 30 years old. After a few years of post-grad dead end jobs, ended up with what turned out to be a really good gig. Growing company and I bought as much discounted stock as they would let me, while raising a family. Job was a meat grinder but had a lot of perks, too. Because of stock and some healthy bonuses, was able to retire a couple years ago in my mid-50s. So, as much as I envy those who found their calling and love their work, I can't help but wonder if that will last all 40 plus years of their career. The financial freedom I got while still relatively young, after around 20 years of grinding seems to trump that, at least imo.
  14. Don't disagree with anything you wrote, but I just started respecting the guy when I realized he parlayed that shtick into a $80M three year contract with the channel. He quietly grinded on DDD for years, then GGG, until he became the face of the Food Channel. Bobby Flay demanded a larger contract than Fieri's, then had to come crawling back after the Channel, without telling him, announced he was leaving, lol.
  15. Late notice but Bourdain in PI is on CNN right now. If you want to tear up watch the last ten minutes. My wife's mother was like the old woman there. My wife and her sisters grew up without a mother while she worked abroad to support the family.
  16. Growing up in the early 70s, Raquel was every grade school boy's number one. There was no competition. She showed how truly fine she was as she aged so well, looking great even into her sixties.
  17. Did the documentary mention what became of Stanley Tucker? If it did I missed it. P.S. agree that this is worth a watch.
  18. I was a kid when series first ran and didn't get into it much, but one episode stayed with me for over 40 years. Lamont brings a latchkey kid home that Fred wants nothing to do with. What struck me that I recalled over decades was their chicken dinner was made up of backs and necks. I think the scene before the below Fred says they have three backs and four necks to split for dinner.
  19. This is the best April 22, 2015, 4:12 p.m. After 45 minutes of sprawls and burpies, it’s time for live rolling. Someone puts on Rupert Holmes’ “Piña Colada Song” and right away the 270 lb former wrestler who just got dumped by his girlfriend, angrily passes my guard, slaps me into side control and sinks his weight into my jaw. He’s wearing a new but filthy Atama gi. It feels like a cheese grater against my cheek as he grinds away at me. I can hear my teeth making terrible sounds and am pretty sure my crowns are going to explode any second. Jabba The Wrestler has been eating at Subway. I can smell rancid, sour, pre-sliced onions on his breath, which, sadly does little to mask the horrifying miasma of swamp ass rising from his sweaty thighs. As my teeth give way, the music changes to Don Mclean’s “American Pie”. I pray for death but I’m already dead.
  20. No, when the divorce occurred the mother wanted to protect the interests of her three small children, and negotiated that any change of control outside family would require their consent. Years later, with her deteriorated relationship with the kids and infatuation with bridezilla, she agreed to amend the divorce settlement in return for some London property or something that her hubby covets, thereby taking the power away from the kids.
  21. I don't think it's an outrageous thought that Logan simply forgot about the kids having power to kill a change of control. When divorce was done, selling out was out of the realm of any possibility for Logan, so I could see him agreeing to something like that knowing it'd never be an issue and summarily forgetting about it. Dude is 80+ years old and has obviously lost his fastball anyway. The only adversaries he's defeated since the series started are his traumatized and over-matched kids.
