  1. He's superstitious. If I was a coach, I'd be concerned.
  2. I've seen instances where it looks like the coach has told his team "if they get the first down, let them run it in..."
  3. Too late now. A smart RB will stop at the one yard line.
  4. They ought to let 'em score a td on their next play, get the ball back
  5. Lots of room on the left side of that line
  6. another coach in need of Coaching Training. Take the three
  7. Fucking interference plain and simple. In the fucking end zone and the fucking announcers don't say a fucking word other than it was "underthrown". So fucking what! Fucking NFL
  8. Well, there's a fucking short yardage snap to the tight end. Fuck fuck fuck. Under center, btw
  9. I doubt Sark called that blitz. He might have known about it and didn't overrule his DC, in which case I suppose it's his fault. That's the thing about having a coordinator - there are times the HC has to step in. If Sark knew, then maybe he learned a lesson.
  10. Wor Worst case scenario there is you have OSU pinned at their own one with a couple of min left. Doubt if they'd have passed. We would have gotten the ball right back. Who knows, maybe a quick pick six. Anything coulda happened and this was one great defense.
  11. You gotta look at a fumble (especially that one) by a star QB as a fluke. You can't let that influence your play call. Good bet he's had plenty of expert advice on taking the snap under center (inluding from two Super Bowl winners). Hell, they probably called him after that game to rib him about it.
  12. Lingering comments: I've seen that Philly crawl used a couple of times. It looks unstoppable. Why isn't every team using it? and why is it still legal? We sure coulda used it right there. If Arch wasn't concussed, he absolutely shoulda been in there, under center. In short ydg situations, give me a qb under center, a big ass fullback and a halfback behind him. Wouldn't have minded seeing the play we used where they snapped it thru Arch's legs directly to the RB. Also, how many times have we seen a tall, agile QB take half a step back, jump over the scrum and extend the ball with his arms into the end zone. Arch is tall - and quick. Coulda made that play and pulled it back in before fumbling. Bootleg right was the best call on first down. RPO. You need a quick QB, but Quinn probably coulda pulled it off. Worst case scenario, he throws the ball away. Ewers definitely shoulda called time out on that second and one. It could indeed be one of the worst plays in UT history. The best play Ewers made all year was probably that 4th and 13 last week. Outside of that, it was Washinigton 2.0 in the Red Zone.
  13. All coaches make bad calls. Sark makes a lot of good ones. One quality Manning seems to have that Ewers doesn't is the ability to take a play gone bad and turn it into something amazing. He has instincts and can turn on the speed like that, outrun even D backs. That safety we took last game - all the close tacklers were to Quinn's right. A hundred times a year we all see good QBs run out of trouble, arc around a linebacker or defensive end and race to the sidelines for a short gain. If Quinn had any quickness at all, he'd have darted to his left, run deeper into the end zone and arced out of it at the sidelines. He doesn't have that raw ability to make something happen when a play breaks down. Arch does, and I think Sark is a good enough coach to take full advantage of his size, speed and elusiveness. That seven yard run he made tonight on fourth down could have easily been stopped at or before the LOS. He's a gamer. He will rally teams around him just like his uncles did. Good coaching, fired up players, a couple of hot RBs and a star QB. We're gonna be sitting pretty next year. We'll probably be ranked Top 10 most of the year.
  14. We're gonna average 40pts a game next year, maybe more. If PK stays, our fucking D will kick ass again. Can an inexperienced QB take us to the promised land? By the end of the year, a healthy Manning could be one of the best QBs in the country. These last two years with Quinn were just warm ups for the greatness to come to this program. It's gonna be awesome
  15. 7 points in the first half. 7 pts in the second. A mobile QB with a strong arm, Manning, gets you an additional 10 each half, minimum. That would be Texas 34 with our D. OSU wouldn't have stood a chance. We could be heavily favored against ND next week. Guess Sark decided he could win it all this season without a mobile QB - a completely stupid assessment which he forced on this team and its fans. With all the other stupid calls he's made this year, it looks like he still has some things to learn about football (underscored by that lateral from the one). He can call an offense at a fairly high level, but he needs an OC to give him time to absorb all the other shit - when to kick FGs, and when to punt, for example. He could still second guess his OC. It's a win-win situation.
  16. Like I said, he's just an okay QB. A cog. We all subconsciously new this day was coming. Arch shoulda been getting solid reps since mid season and probably should replaced Ewers before the Georgia, or at least the Clemson Game. We came close tonight. With a better QB we likely would have won.
  17. I'm adding a FB and putting the QB under center on short yardage.
  18. Shitty play calling from the one. Take back that 7yd pitchout and have Manning run a bootleg right. TD for sure. Sark will not call Ewer's number. Ewers was a cog in a machine.. He was never really a take command of the ballgame type of QB. And he got us where he got us last year. Always the bridesmaid syndrome.
  19. We had the go=ahead drive going which then fell flat on its face. Couple of bad play calls and then that overthrow to Bolden. We gotta get past that shit
