  1. Another spellbinding third quarter for the Ewers-led offense. Once again, these cross-field passes make me nervous
  2. The left side of the end zone was pretty open. If Ewers had any speed, he coulda sprinted left and got the fucking ball out of the end zone. You gotta have a mobile QB at this level. Goddammit.
  3. Our D has been bailing out this sputtering offense all season long.
  4. Ewers goes straight to the ground. Like he thinks it's just your average backfield fumble
  5. Motherfuckers! I'm not sure even that '85 Defense comes up to the level of this one. Fuckin' A-One!
  6. that's what happens when you can get your QB out of the pocket
  7. Takeaways: Quinn, decent first half. A step slow on the scramble. Threw a few dangerous passes. Don't like those cross-field 5 yd passes. The bad throws reminded me of Wash last yr. That one with the amazing catch got us a first, but probably shouldn't have been caught. Crappy play call. Only thing that seems to work on offense are first down play action. First down runs suck. they know we're passing on second. Very crowded in backfield. Need a qb who can move around. Would open up the field to several 10+ yard scrambles. Ground game lethargic. WTF. Dammit, get some intensity. Don't know how we didn't expect that fake punt. Jeez. Dodged a bullet. D is nails, once again. Best sign we might pull this one out. Need a third Qtr drive
  8. Might add Earl Campbell's end of game, 80-yd end run against the Miami Dolphins on Mon Night Football. Howard Cosell and Dandy Don going apeshit.
  9. Pussyball, Cowboy Style. Jerra's LoserDome. The reason he won't hire another coach is that he's the cheapest bastard on the planet. He doesn't care about winning at all. McCarthy comes cheap. Jones won't pay for a premium coaching staff. The whole family is infested with this hillbilly gene. Them still going to Cowboy games is like a family ritual - Gathering in the trailer's living room on Saturday Night drinking moonshine and waiting to see which toothless loser the daughter brings home to spend the night with.
  10. Same here. Complete lack of intensity. Showboat/Fraud. Did they just play a bunch of shitty teams this year?
  11. I'd like to think you're right on this. Quinn looked healthier last week, but one big hit and Arch could instantly become the man, and he won't be nearly as ready as he would have had Sark taken advantage of opportunities to get him some playing time in the previous ten weeks. If there's an injury and Arch can't get us past OSU or Oregon, it will be because Sark took his foot off the gas several times when he shouldn't have. I too would like to think Arch is getting some extra attention in practice the last few weeks and will come out of the gates kicking ass and chewing bubble gum. It would be a story for the ages. It's possible, I suppose, that the team has been told to keep under wraps anything like that which might be going on in practice. Have any reporters ask Sark what they're doing for Arch? Seems like a hell of a good question.
  12. Fuckin' Pussyball -> Houston. Stroud, you suck
  13. fyi. Youtube turned out to be exactly what it has been in the past. A hundred links to shit that isn't live at all, but wants you to sign up etc. Often, the link would look a little different, but take you to the same set up. Didn't see one second of live UT football. The aforementioned theTVApp.to and Sportsurge worked flawlessly.
  14. 16min of highlights: Want to download it: cobalt.tools (first, go to settings on left side to choose resolution), then enter Video URL. There's never been a tool like this. Took five seconds to DL 260Mb
  15. Other takeaways: Thought someone said that Blue's run broke a record for UT? Was it Longest in UT History, or simply longest at DKR? What's that? 100 yrs? In any case, no one here will probably live to see it broken. Pretty memorable. Forgot who made the long ball catch on an underthrown pass, but there was no way he shoulda caught it. Outstanding catch at critical point. Probably catch of the game. Just guessing, but you'd think that the size of our Offensive line outmatches every team in the nation, except perhaps the top five. This is football. When you've got a size advantage, use it.. Suspect we were bigger than AND faster than Clemson. Gibson sort of looking like a secret weapon. As well as he ran, seems the plays called for him never gave him a chance to build up a good head of steam. Would like to see that happen. Also, given unknowns about Wisener, it's possible we may be seeing more from him. Hope Sark gives the kid a little more to work with. Could be something special.
  16. The team gained some confidence and maturity with this win. When it looked like they were waning AND when the chips were down, they kicked it into another gear. Hope they remember whatever it was that took over for them, because they're gonna need it going forward. Very very few errors. Great execution on the blocking, especially the two long runs (which apparently were audibled). Very impressive. Didn't Sark go on record as saying he got the idea to run the ball more from reading Surly?
  17. I like that a couple of times on short yardage, the Horns QB went under center allowing a quick hitter into the line. It seems though that they never tried a counter or fake to one side, then handoff to the other. I'd like to see more under center plays, period.
  18. God Damn that was a great goal line stand. I didn't think there was any way they'd hold on 4th and 1. There was some serious hitting going on!
  19. Ewers gets a lot of credit for this one. Made maybe three bad throws (a big improvement). One pick dropped, maybe two. But also made some clutch throws and one clutch run. Story is Blue's run, the goal line stand, and the O grinding it out in crunch time. Well done, men!
