  1. From downtown Austin. Ready to leave the office and start tailgating TEXAS!
  2. Ha, backed into it for sure. Didn't really mean it that way; only to give a perspective on what it would look like. To FF's comment yes, I guess that's what I'm considering. Getting to a point that very few people will be hunting it and I won't be out there much so thinking about creating a group that can maintain population while that happens.
  3. Thanks for the info. My place is just west of San Angelo and it's around 1200 acres. Good thing for it is that is surrounded on 3 sides by a massive ranch that does not hunt so we have always had a steady stream of deer there. There is a windmill (so animals have water access) and a cook shack with two additional bunk houses. We probably have 8 blinds and feeders setup on the property already but the trouble is I don't get out there very often as I have two little ones. Once they get a bit older I will go more but I just can't make the 4.5 hours out there every other weekend keep things up and feeders fed. Considering finding a new solution versus letting groups come out by the weekend and instead find a group of folks that want to manage and hunt the property over many year that will take better care of the deer population. Do you typically see number of people on the lease limited by acre or would you limit the number of weekends they could come?
  4. What are you guys generally seeing in terms of lease costs for hunting here in Texas(Deer/Quail). $5 an acre each year? I'm considering leasing something out in the next few years and need to find a good way to keep hunting going but with way less maintenance than taking people out each weekend including feeders and stands.
  5. I can't wait... sitting in my office right now just ready to start drinking. Can you believe it's been 10 years since GameDay was here? I guess I'm going to have to get up early and go out there (possibly with the kids) Fyi, Looks like Shiner Saloon is setting up for the LSU fans so stay away.
  6. Can't tell if LSU Tailgate or Homeless Encampment
  7. Where did you end up? The other week I tried to take a crew from out of town to RedAsh but it was too busy so settled for Taverna. Worked just fine. DaiDue is great but might be a bit more on the interesting side for small town people. Venison Ceviche is good though. Have anyone tried Comedor? I've heard it's not quite as good as Suerte but similar menu but in the right location for you.
  8. Grass right next to my pool looks terrible right now... Zoysia I think but would a highly chlorinated pool within people getting in and out just kills the grass event with regular watering? I have some other areas of that grass that just look scorched but this looks dead. I guess I need to try some various fertilizers and see if I can revive? or am I screwed until next year? I don't recall the grass near the pool doing this last year.
  9. I had mine replaced last month and used Stan's. Offered a good warranty on parts and labor and was offering deals/rebates in July. Was comparatively priced when I checked Precison earlier in the year for similar models.
  10. And my dog is an English bulldog...
  11. My daughter and I built it just the other night... of course it was destroyed within minutes and then the dog ate it
  12. When you order your tickets by the deadline you are guaranteed to get as many tickets as you have season ticket up to the priority limit (based on annual giving). But if you have less season ticket than that limit you can still request up to you limit however those would not be filled until all the "guaranteed" one across the season ticket holders have been filled. When they do fill they would not necessarily be in the same section as the previous ones. My understanding is that requesting extra seats has more to do with annual giving versus length of time holding season tickets. Annual donations determine who gets tickets... tenure (total points accumulated) is used to determine where the seats are in the stadium.
  13. They allocate TX/OU tickets in September but the request deadline is June. Expectations this year are a lot higher than last year... I'm not sure I would bet on them circulating another round of emails offering more tickets out. Can you ask for more Red River tickets that you have for season tickets? I thought you could ask for as many seats as your season tickets but you could only get up to a certain point based on the annual donation level. Until you are giving more than $10K annually you are capped at 4 tickets.
  14. Had not received an email but tickets came in the mail today regardless. HOOK’EM! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Mount Bonnell turning west onto 2222 has a light now. This was on the north section of Mount Bonnell turning west on 2222 where there is no light. I used to live on that stretch and always went down to Mesa to turn left. Always instructed the Uber drivers to do that as well because so many people fly down that hill.
  16. I still have not received an email but I thought we saw a tweet from CDC that the "last batch was placed in the mail" last week? I guess not the case?
  17. Still no tickets in my mail either. Middle sections in the upper deck are $1000 per seat donation so will run you $1525 at a min. Outside of the Terrace or Touchdown Club in section 13 I would agree that's pretty pricey.
  18. Thanks... I think I will go with a smaller plant as I just don't have the space to have something that get's 10' tall. There is some shade where it's located but I could try a shade cloth. My planters are irrigated so I can give as much water as I need. Have 3-4 bubblers in each tank right now going off for 1m each morning.
  19. Man, all these pics make me want to go play golf soon. I've barely played this year outside of my trip to Bandon in the Spring and Torrey Pines a month ago. I'm heading to Boston in a few weeks and will try to play a course in that area but am going to be rusty as hell for my club championship in Sept. Young children kill your golf game
  20. Bakkt has some good news and is trying to save the day. I've got some long positions open on Dec Futures and will start adding if this rallies over 10.8.
  21. Do you only get the confirmation email from USPS if you have opted into something special?
  22. Will keep in mind if I don't end up going to the game... nice to know about the bar connection though since I work around the corner from there.
  23. I think I chose poorly on the variety. The one on the right did great and started producing some fruit but out grew the cages and then the string I put above it. Got so big it killed the other plants and now is dying. Next year I’ll change varietals... any good ones that don’t get as big and grow well in Austin area? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
