  1. I would too. Bama's permanent three should be more like Auburn, Tennessee, and Miss. State instead.
  2. This is the correct answer. Houston kinda gets screwed, but they're lucky to have a seat to begin with. Plus, they only joined the SWC in the '70s.
  3. The Stars lost in the Finals that season.
  4. Very pleasantly surprised by this.
  5. Bottoms. A teen sex comedy geared toward much more toward girls and folks in the LGBTQetc community (so I'm not exactly in their target demo), but the absurd plot and well-timed one-liners had me laughing out loud several different times.
  6. Hopefully this won't affect their rivalry game with Monitor.
  7. Why didn't the Arizona schools and Utah simply vote to dissolve the conference before announcing their jump to the Big 12? Seems like they could have had access to the Pac-12's remaining assets if they had done that first.
  8. Does this move still work? I utilized this method a few times in the aughts, but feel like they've replaced the laid-back, older ticket-takers with teens who are scared of getting into trouble.
  9. IHOP and it isn't even close.
  10. Our kids are still several years away from having to make this decision, but the wife and I were casually talking about this the other day. I'd love for my kids to be 4th generation Longhorns, but also wouldn't mind for a moment (except perhaps financially) if they chose an elite school like one in the Ivy League, Stanford, Rice, Vanderbilt, Notre Dame, etc. Wife went to A&M so she'd definitely be fine with them picking A&M, too, but recognizes that UT is more highly rated. The concern we'd have is if they couldn't get into one of the elites or either of our alma maters. What's next? (Btw, not meaning to offend anyone on here.) SMU/TCU - Both (but especially SMU) are extremely close to us in proximity, so not sure they'd get a full college experience being so close to home. Also not sure the bang for the buck is worth it. Baylor - Expensive and strong on religion that isn't our own. UTD - Also very close to home and seems to lack any traditional college atmosphere whatsoever. Would be great for STEM but would seem boring AF. Houston - I don't know a ton about UofH. I feel like it has improved, but is it still largely a commuter school? Also, are you locking yourself into to only Houston-area positions for job prospects? Tech - The next largest "name brand" state school after UT & A&M with most of which comes with being a big Texas school, but it's still waaaay down in the rankings. Appears to have a decent network throughout most of the state, but Lubbock sucks. Generic SEC state school - Would be at a flagship school in a somewhat neighboring state, but generally poorly rated. UNT/TxSt/SH/SFA/Tarleton - Similar to Tech, aside from being in a better location than Lubbock, but also worse in the rankings. If mine couldn't get into an elite school not named UT, I think I'd encourage them to keep their nose in a book for a year at UTA before being able to transfer to UT.
  11. Seems like a fuckload of conjecture without any basis in reporting or fact.
  12. Oh. And fuck “The Gilded Age.” Shit looks boring AF
  13. WTF? That was like having a series about WWII, watching the Pearl Harbor episode, but reading how we eventually won in front of a VJ Day photo montage. This sucks.
  14. Yeah. I figured the full team schedule would have been published by now.
  15. Forgive if already addressed earlier, but when are we finally getting the conference schedule??
  16. How is the 2024 AAC more attractive to WSU/OSU than the Mountain West?
  17. On a less-important note, who does the AAC add to backfill SMU? UConn for football-only? Every other option is pretty vomit-inducing.
  18. Without a doubt the smartest dumb show that I can't get enough of. #morewall
  19. Will someone smarter than me say if this is a good thing or a bad thing?
  20. Was at a happy hour in Dallas a few weeks ago at a place called Bowl Games. Their bit is you can play a weird fucking game where you throw a football at bowling pins several yards away. Very unstable, but anyway... there's five of us, all of whom open separate tabs at the bar, so no waitress, but when I cash out, I was dinged a "large party" 18% auto-gratuity. Wtf?
  21. I would think Cal and Stanford heading to the ACC would kill any possibility of resurrecting the Pac brand with the four leftovers and the best options from the Mountain West and AAC. Seems like WSU and OSU would have no other option but to join the MWC.
  22. You m-fers have never seen Mike Leach's chapel...
  23. Should I be watching Foundation?
  24. Geographically, the B1G makes more sense, but there is animosity between ND and that conference going back generations. ND is still in a state that’s contiguous with an SEC one, so one shouldn’t assume ND would automatically join B1G.
