  1. It's a shame that there was a crossover between lab leak arguments and the anti-vax crowd. It made it all too easy to dismiss the most likely cause of the outbreak from the very beginning by attaching it to the bungheaded conspiracies of the anti-vax ignorance brigade. And now, as facts emerge that the experts and scientists involved actively worked to cover their own asses and/or that of their profession, it only adds fuel to the fire of the RFK dumbass parade participants in dismissing education and experience in favor of ignorant caveman conjecture. These scientists and bureaucrats have inadvertently done more to undercut their own work and weaken our ability to manage the next pandemic than anything the antivax crowd has done, which is kind of incredible.
  2. Mundus Sine Caesaribus. Apologies if already posted.
  3. How much do you think they had to pay Richard Attenborough to officiate?
  4. Are you claiming that Musk and his companies bend the truth to serve their agenda even if it puts the public at risk? Is that what you're claiming?
  5. Don't worry. They'll audit the shit out of some small businesses to make up for it.
  6. One man's Caramel Delite is another man's Samoa.
  7. I'm not usually a metal guy, but that is fucking awesome.
  8. That'll have to do I guess. I'm not carrying this yard back to the car.
  9. Grass is just starting to green up in our hood, but no wildflowers yet. One half decent rainstorm ought to do it.
  10. Two more pieces of shit out of the gene pool, at least for a while (I hope). If your masculinity is so fragile as to get into a road rage incident, we're all better off without you around.
  11. Year round DST is bullshit if you have kids or a job with an early start time, especially if you live on the western edge of your time zone where the sun already rises later for the time on the clock. It would be pitch black on the way to work/school 3/4 of the year. I've always assumed that folks who push for permanent DST are childless degenerates who never get up before noon, or just assholes who love to mow their yard at 9:00 at night just to avoid their wife and bother their neighbors. I'll never understand why people want it to be light outside later at night in the summers in Texas when it's going to be 100 fucking degrees anyway. The sun going down is the only thing that cools things off just a bit. We should want that shit to happen earlier, not later, to fully enjoy summer evenings. Add in that study after study has shown that DST is bad for your body and health, increases dangers on the roads in the mornings for kids on the way to school as well as commuters, and it's a no brainer to ditch DST entirely and stick to standard time all year.
  12. Don't worry, when someone finally puts that guy down they'll be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. The system is working as intended.
  13. Watching state leadership work to turn UT into the world's leading right-wing university is fascinating. I guess they were getting jealous of the folks down the road in College Station. By comparison to those two, Texas Tech is starting to look like a den of liberals with its leading wind energy research and functioning fine arts departments. The world is genuinely turning upside down.
  14. I'm not arguing with anything else you've written, but there is a 99% likelihood that a dude with a 56" chest is a gigantic lard ass whose body dismorphia has convinced him he's Schwarzenegger. I'm not sure that's the best measure of swagger.
  15. The extra weight isn't exactly the primary turn-off.
  16. Thank you for making me feel better about being smell blind.
  17. Kris is the man. It's not as on point as ole' Dick Chop, urologist to, well, everyone with a penis in Travis County for decades, but a UT kicker as a top podiatrist in town makes me smile nonetheless.
  18. Thanks. I don't know why I had Russians in my head. I've spent time in Gaines County as well, but only as a visitor (we were in the same district with Seminole, and I don't miss those long bus rides home after getting whipped in football). That migration didn't really pick up speed until after my time, but I recall the beginnings of it and the grumbling of the locals.
